I did not realise there are two Crowne Plaza hotels in Muscat. I mistakenly booked the business one, rather than the beach one, which my daughter was not pleased about. So we planned to move the following morning. However, once my daughter ate from the extensive breakfast offering, we decided to stay. The breakfast was superb and probably one of the best we have had over the years. We spent time at the pool, which, although quiet and may not have carried the same vibe as the 'beach' Crowne Plaza, was pleasant enough. The staff at the hotel were very approachable and helpful. Marie, the guest relations manager, was particularly lovely, and we were given a late checkout without charge as our flight home wasn't until 8 pm. Had we been planning to stay in Oman beyond the two nights I booked, we would have moved to the other Crowne Plaza, as that would have been more in keeping with my daughter's type of hotel. However, for an impromptu weekend break, Crowne Plaza OCEC was more than acceptable. Although I wouldn't choose this again for a leisure trip, if I were on a business trip to Oman, this would be the hotel I would choose!

This isn't related to the property per se, but we found out to our cost that the taxis which the hotel calls are triple, sometimes quadruple the cost. For some reason, taxis from the O Taxi app, which would have been a cheaper option, are not allowed to pick customers up directly from the hotel.

I booked two rooms on our 10th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, Mr. Hisham (Duty Manager) did an excellent job to speed up our check in after seeing a long queue at the Reception. He also granted our late check out request the next day. Thanks to the reservation team who arranged a welcome anniversary cake in our room even though we didn't request one. We were delighted. The breakfast in the restaurant is also very good and the staff are so friendly. I specially thank Jennifer, Jay and Elvira for being gracious and attentive to our needs. Thanks also to the the HK staff who were efficient in all our request and for keeping our room spotless. Overall, you made our stay memorable and our kids were so happy (it is the most important). We wish to come back soon.

The bidet in our bathroom was broken when we arrived. Refused to grant 15mins extension of late check out as we were waiting for our lunch takeaway.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Crown Plaza hotel for a week, and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From the moment I checked in, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, and attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I could need. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, with thoughtful touches like fresh fruits, Eid chocolates, desserts, and complimentary toiletries. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The hotel restaurant served some of the most delicious meals I have ever tasted. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, and the selection of wines was excellent. In addition to the restaurant, the hotel also had two bars and lounge areas, which provided a perfect place to unwind after a long day. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the staff was always on hand to make sure I had everything I needed. Overall, I had an incredible stay at this hotel, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay with excellent service and delicious food, then this is the place for you. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Bed comfort

The Hotel is far from Muscat city. It is near the convention and exhibition center and close to airport. This suited me as I was there to attend a conference in Exhibition Centre. The hotel is clean, the staff is very good. Very good Breakfast, Good Pool etc. Very nice place if you are visiting muscat on business.

For Dinner I ordered a pepperoni Pizza, it was the worst pizza i eat in my life. the quality of the pepperoni was poor so was the quality of the cheese. Never expected such food from Crown Plaza, wasted 7 omani riyal. Do not order italian food there.

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a wonderful experience. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, providing a pleasant stay. One highlight of our visit was the mosaic buffet, which offered a wide variety of delicious food and left us thoroughly impressed. However, we did have a couple of minor concerns. Firstly, the pool was disappointingly small, and the water didn't seem to be properly cleaned, which was a bit of a letdown. Additionally, we were hoping to enjoy some indoor shisha during our stay, but were disappointed to find out that it was only available outdoors. This became uncomfortable due to the hot weather. Despite these drawbacks, our overall experience at the hotel was positive. The comfortable rooms and amazing mosaic buffet made up for the small pool and the inconvenience with the shishauu. We would recommend this hotel for those looking for a great stay with excellent dining options, keeping in mind the limitations mentioned.

We booked a king size bedroom facing the garden. Amazing view, exceptional location and clean rooms. Staff was quite courteous, always on their toes to help.

I had requested for early check-in since we had to drop our luggage but I didn't get a response from the hotel. Moreover, we had opted for half board along with our stay. Since one of us is vegetarian, we had limited options (basically one veg curry) available for dinner.

I liked the way the staff at the reception, at the lounge and at the restaurant responded in the most professional and leasing way possible, striking some conversation and making you feel comfortable. Kudos to Ms. Priya for making the check in pleasant

For the first time visitor, the place may appear quite far away and away from the city, but in fact it was quite easy and faster to reach than other hotels in prime areas

It was an excellent stay in most respects, cleanliness, welcoming reception, easy entry and exit procedures, the apartment is close to the hotel entrance, the morning breakfast is varied and you have several options and it overlooks the swimming pool. The view is very awesome. You can see the splendor of the place.

Due to time constraints, I did not have enough time to relax in the pool or visit the gym

Smooth check in/out. Excellent facilities. Rooms spotlessly clean. Room service when required were courteous and professional. Food amazing. Michael and his staff that run the Big Chill brunch deserve so much credit. Not only for the food and entertainment but there attention to customer needs.

Not being able to use OTaxi and being forced to use a service 5 times more expensive is not good. The gym is very small with hardly any equipment. Perhaps some investment in something bigger would be in order. It's about the only thing that let's the hotel down

the things which is not accepted is check in time is not accepted, we arrive at 1:00 pm - hotel staff told me its at 3:00 pm check in, i booked from booking and they mentioned at 2:00 pm - no agreed between two parties , i left and back to check in at 9:00 pm and when i booked i request two connecting room, when i asked reception they booked two rooms but in different level, and in the same time they search for me two rooms , its found but i was waiting in the reception area more than 45 minutes .. shamed things first time i seen at this hotel
