The hotel is only 10/15 mins from the airport and costs less than 2 OMR! I recommend you download the OTAXI app which is excellent. The hotel is in a good location with many places to eat and well stocked local supermarkets within walking distance. The hotel is very central to most things (you will need a car/taxi) but again I found using OTAXI very cheap. Sultan Qaboos Mosque is less than 10 mins to walk - you will need to be completely covered up if you’re female. There are many bars scattered around but obviously these are not publicised. Google them and just jump in a cab. Some offer happy hour deals 5-8pm. The hotel itself was faultless, spotlessly clean, nice gym (small but well equipped) lovely rooftop pool area that was never busy which is good as there’s only 4 sun lounges. Pool towels are provided to. My room was perfect and cleaned thoroughly most days. It had everything I needed, good kitchen facilities including a fresh water fountain, ample plug sockets, very comfortable bed, iron, hairdryer etc. The staff were very nice, polite and helpful when needed. I didn’t eat at the hotel but did buy coffee from the coffee shop which I highly recommend. All in all this hotel is excellent and I would 100% stay again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Staff are super friendly, amazingly accommodating, always welcoming; I loved every interaction with them. The facility is very new and very clean. Close to basic shopping nearby and to two hypermarkets and big malls, but you still need a car. Rooms are well lit

The property is listed as 4-star. It certainly falls short of a 4-star in terms of the facility's luxury. Breakfast was just okay; the restaurant owner was hesitant to refill the drinks and food and had to be reminded. The offering was just okay, nothing very exciting. The lobby looked less elegant than the rooms The bathroom is not properly designed so the water from the shower flows all over bathroom and there is no way to stop it. Kitchen is not well furnished, there were not enough plates and cups and silverware for even a simple meal. I had to buy disposable stuff. There was only one outlet for all of the electrical equipment so you couldn't boil the water and toast the bread at the same time.

We had early flight to Oman and when we came to the hotel, they gave us the room more than 4 hours before check in. We were and still are very grateful. Room was very cozy, nice roof top pool, breakfast was delicious. Everything was perfect.

Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The room was clean, with a kitchen and a spacious bathroom, and offered a beautiful view of the city. Excellent breakfast for 4 OMR. The restaurant was amazing, and the food was the best we had in Oman.

Our room was located on the 6th floor, nearby a smoking area. The unbearable smell of cigarette smoke spread through the ventilation system. It felt like being in a bar where dozens of people were smoking. The windows could not be opened. We requested a room change, but it wasn’t possible due to the hotel being fully booked. Our hair and all our belongings reeked of cigarettes. The smell of smoke even woke us up during the night.

The apartment was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette. It was also reasonably quiet. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of sockets near the bed and the desk to charge things, also USB ports. The grand mosque is within walking distance, also plenty of shops, but note that Muscat is not pedestrian-friendly (no sidewalks, or zebra crossings).

When I entered the room after checking in I met with two hotel employees who said they were inventorying items in the room. This was not a problem but it was unexpected. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped with plates, eg only one cereal bowl or teaspoon.

Hotel was conveniently located, Clean and the rooms were a good size.

Nothing to dislike.

If you want a spacious, comfortable suite in Muscat, Citadines Al Ghubrah is an excellent choice. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and comfortable. The suite felt very spacious, with a separate kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and bath. Service was friendly and courteous, and the rooftop pool and the gym were well-maintained and very welcome. We were travelling for pleasure, but this also looks like an excellent choice for business travel as well, with a nice café in the lobby for casual meetings.

Muscat is a city that sprawls over a very large geographical area, with large open areas and a lot of space given over to motorways. As such, you are not going to find many hotels that are 'central' (because the old city around Mutrah and Muscat proper is quite small). So, while you can walk to the marvellous Sultan Qaboos Mosque from the Citadines, you will be driving most places, and the area around the hotel doesn't have footpaths. But this will be true of all but a handful of Muscat hotels. Our only other quibble were the strange aromas that would appear if were turned off the ventilation system (frankinscence, on one occasion, cooking chicken on another); however, the aromas disappeared when the air was turned back on, so it wasn't really an issue.

To begin with, I would like to note that the room fully matched the photos on the website. The room was clean and cozy, and it had everything necessary for everyday convenience: toothpaste, toothbrush, gel, shampoo, hairdryer, iron, and a safe. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment for cooking. The hotel was very clean, and the lobby always smelled nice. I want to specifically mention that all the hotel staff were very polite, friendly, and always ready to help in any situation. There is a beautiful pool on the roof, and the hotel also has a gym! I am delighted with my stay at this hotel!

Breakfast was really nice, one room apartment was spacious and serviced daily. we stayed for seven days seeing the sights and enjoying the facilities at the hotel. Recommend the Otaxi Appm their charges at .25/km way better than taxis who try to put one over you

not much really, must nitpick. surrounding area bit older side, could have been better in Mutrah area, but Al Guhbrah close to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

I've stayed at many hotels in Oman, and this has been one of the best experiences so far. The facility is new, beautifully maintained, and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. A special thanks to Mr. Bright Ikechukwu, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and well taken care of.

Limited parking outside and limited WiFi access that only allows 2 users to be connected at once unless you sign up for their loyalty program (which is free), then you can access other devices you have.
