I loved the room - it had high quality finishes - as good as a 5 star hotel. It was fresh, new and high end. All of the room had electronic switches. The bathroom was amazing with high quality marble tiles. I would definitely stay in this hotel based on my experience.

The breakfast lounge was terrible - the food was absolutely deplorable (and old) and the staff were not even interested in serving you. Most of the place was unclean and it felt like they didn't clean for days. They were too busy being concerned with their own issues and having a therapy session about their challenges with their lives to even be bothered to serve us. They just took our chits that we recieved from the hotel and continued on with their work. Recommend the hotel shift this piece of their product offering to some other lounge (perhaps the Oman Air lounge) or not offer breakfast / meals altogether.

Great property with comfortable rooms. They had all the necessities in the room including toothbrush and toothpaste, towels, clothing line, shampoo, and single use slippers. The staff were friendly as well and the breakfast was decent.

The hotel wifi was not really good. I couldn’t browse the web properly or make any voice calls. I recommend connecting to airport wifi instead. But for this you need a mobile number that can receive text messages with a login key for the wifi. The hotel is located in the departures area which is seperate from arrivals. Although this is not the hotels fault, if you plan to leave the airport to explore the city during a transit, do not book this hotel. You need to go through a security check to go from arrivals to departures and there is no way to go out once you pass the screening. Muscat airport staff were some of the most unhelpful I’ve encountered, they refused to help me go back. I lost a rebooked city tour because of it.

In my case, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helped me to get out of a mistake, which I had made during booking. The location is very central and easy to find. Instructions given together with the confirmation are clear - everybody shall understand from that NOT to pass immigration 🤦🏻‍♂️. The rooms are spacious, quiet, very comfortable as well as very clean. Who knows the Yotel in Istanbul airport airside understands, why I am so excited

Two recommendations for others: 1. Be careful when booking the room. You might - as I did - understand from the wording that you booked for a day, but in fact it's only for six hours. Thanks to the team who helped me to make up for that mistake. Prices are quite high but yet 30% lower than in Istanbul airport, if that suits as a benchmark. 2. Dinner is not offered as a buffet but from a special menu, which is ... let's say simple and concise. For me it was okay, but you should be aware of that One proposal to the management: I mentioned that already earlier: in the bathrooms is a rack or tray for personal sanitary items/bags missing. You don't know where to place your toothbrush 😀

Easy access to gates, comfortable. We couldn’t benefit from the restaurant and other facilities because of time constraints.

The staff who assist us spend more than 15 minutes to give us the room!!! We came around 4:30 am, and we wanted to sleep, as soon as possible, to be prepared for our next flight after 4 and half hours. I believe it’s important to finish the check-in process within maximum 5 minutes.

Friendly staff, decent rooms, right opposite the Oman Air Lounge

Getting to the hotel from your plane you have to go through a first security check which makes leaving the airport for some sightseeing with a long stopover very difficult. Although being in posession of a valid boarding pass for the successive flight you have to contact one of the passenger service points and they have to accompony you out. 2 hours in my case. And the same problem coming back as the system told them I'm already in.

The hotel was quick and easy to reach from the transit. First check-in: very quick, second check-in: very slow, as the group checked in first. We found the rooms to be sophisticated and everything worked well. The air conditioning was easy to adjust and quiet. The beds were good. There was free chilled drinking water in the hallway.

The breakfast buffet offered was the worst in the past 35 years. Especially when you consider that it is a first class hotel. In addition, all ingredients were always missing and had to be requested. Even the simplest things like hot water, drinks and bread were never there. I have NEVER had Nescafé bags for coffee in a 4 star hotel. The lunch buffet on the first stay was not available, instead you could only choose something from the menu. Next time I would eat out.

I was happy about the location and the service,

I was not happy with the hours they decided me to stay, when I booked, I got a confirmation email of one night booking and the two days date, also the time I wanted to check in and out, but when I arrived the hotel, the receptionist told me that my time to stay is only 6hrs, and my transit was 14hrs, and I have one child and one toddler with me, when I asked them to book another 6hrs they asked me to pay another $130. So I just spent the other 8 hours in the airport. It was very bad. The confirmation email should show clearly its only 6 hours and not to write the check-in and out time like the same as what I wrote!!

When faced with a 14 hour layover in Muscat I checked into options before we left Melbourne and found this hotel. When the business lounge options didn't work out as planned this became our choice and it worked well. The Aerotel Muscat Hotel is inside the airport and caters for people who are not leaving the airport and who only have carry on luggage. We approached the reception and found that booking online was cheaper but their advice on what options they had was invaluable. We chose to rent a room for 12 hours and take half board. We chose breakfast (6-10) and dinner (from 7pm to 11 pm). By 9am in Ramadan the hot buffet had nothing out but they made us an omelet and scrambled eggs on request with sausage pieces, baked beans and hash browns and there was so much we couldn't finish it. Sliced bread and toaster was available and self-serve juice, tea and coffee with slices of carrot and banana cake for desert. Dinner was from options of a set menu again cooked individually. It was a lot cheaper and a lot tastier than other airport offerings. There are also lounge areas or the airport if tired of your room. Our room was a garden view room though others may look over airplanes flying in and out. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep well during the day. There was a cupboard with hanging space and you don't need much more luggage storage. We had a desk with comfortable chair if you needed to work and a couch as well as coffee and tea making and two free bottles of water but no mini-fridge. It had nice lamps and ceiling lights and good power and charging points. I liked the design of the bathroom which was a very modern circular design with the toilet on one side and the shower on the other with the sink basin in between. It had hot water, good water pressure, shampoo and shower gel supplied as well as shower cap and dental kit.

The large wall mounted TV looked good but, despite three attempts by technical staff, we couldn’t get it to work properly. It wasn't a priority for me who just wanted to sleep but for my husband it was more important. There were only one set of towels so we requested extra which we got quite quickly. There were no full length mirrors. The rooms options in Booking.com give the options for length of stay and board. The options are clear on a computer, less so on a mobile device.
