I had asked for an early checkin. This was not our first visit, and we are both over 85 so a long flight from Toronto leaves us very tired. We arrived at 8AM, and although we did not expect to be able to checkin at that time, I had hoped we might get our room by 11-11:30. I was sorry...and very tired ...that we had to wait until 2:30 for our room.

I was sorry...and very tired ...that we had to wait until 2:30 for our room. Also room 301 is very dark in the evening, as the only lighting is from the wall sconces. The maid service gave us a floor lamp from the landing on 3 rd floor.

Our stay at Hotel Faro was exceptional. The location is ideal for exploring both the charm of Old Town and the stunning coast. Breakfast was a highlight—healthy, abundant, and featuring delicious pastia de nata. After watching a spectacular sunset, we had an unforgettable experience enjoying wine and whisky, thoughtfully brought to us by Gabriel. He was an outstanding young man and a true credit to both himself and the hotel. We wish him well in his studies and congratulate the hotel for fostering such a wonderful culture. Highly recommend!

Not being able to use the pool, it was due to the weather

I was staying in Portugal on my first solo trip. The hotel was beautiful, gorgeous rooms, fantastic views from the rooftop bar/ restaurant and to top it off the breakfast was delicious with lots of options. For me, the members of staff were the highlight of my stay. They made me feel so comfortable and most of all, safe. They were attentive, kind and warm. As someone travelling alone it really did make my stay in Faro. A few names to mention in particular - Isabela, Bernardo, Bruno, Humberto and Gabriel who went above and beyond for me. A note of thanks too for the lovely Patricia who always had a massive smile in the mornings and would take time to check in on me when I was at breakfast I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return.

We liked the views from the rooftop bar and pool. The breakfast was very good and there was lots to choose from each morning. The location was perfect for exploring and day trips. The hotel was spotless and the room was cleaned everyday.

There was only one chair in a room for 2 people, another would have been nice. When on the rooftop in the evening we found the staff weren't attentive if you just wanted drinks, we had to wait quite a while for someone to serve us. The hairdryer isn't great if you have lots of hair to dry, take your own. It would have been nice to have a welcome pack in the room with opening and closing times of breakfast, the bar, the pool, menus or local attractions.

it was clean, well fitted out, the room was big as well. the rooftop bar was a highlight as it overlooks the wetlands and the staff were friendly and helpful. we even dipped in the outdoor pool although the temperature of the water wasn’t quite enough to keep us warm in January. the breakfast was excellent, with something to pick for everyone - many sweet and savoury options.

we didn’t get a double bed but rather two twins put together. the soundproofing was non-existent and we had a group of lads right next to us coming back late and making a lot of noise which had a huge impact on our quality of sleep.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and celebrated. The staff was exceptionally friendly and polite, going above and beyond to make my stay special. A heartfelt thank you to Lorenzo from the Ria Formosa Restaurant and the chef who surprised me with a delicious chocolate brownie cake for my birthday—it was such a thoughtful touch. I was also greeted with a bottle of champagne in my room upon arrival, which made my celebration even more memorable. The hotel itself is stunning. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the marina and picturesque sunsets from the rooftop bar. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, providing everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The Ria Formosa Restaurant deserves a special mention—the food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of tasty options for breakfast that catered to all preferences. Every meal was a delight! I had a truly amazing time and am so grateful for the kind, thoughtful gestures from the staff. This hotel offers more than just a place to stay—it creates unforgettable memories. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

There is not anything that I did not like.

One of the best hotel breakfasts ever. Rooftop bar and breakfast views of the Ria Formosa wetlands were spectacular. Located 5 minutes from several remarkable restaurants, go to Faro for the food! The hotel staff were so kind, genuine and spontaneously helpful. I would definitely book this hotel again any time in Faro or to connect onwards to the rest of the Algarve, like we did this time.

Gym is warm, because it's right next to the sauna - but it's a great gym and there's a sauna, so... No real complaints - go to the outdoor gym by following the trail left along the water to the opposite side of the Old Town wall.

Location perfect. Short walk to the old town of Faro with shops bars & restaurants. Close to the marina and a small cute Xmas Market. Train station for day trips only a 10 minute walk. Approximately 15 minute taxi ride to and from Faro Airport. Roof top restaurant and terraces with pool gave really chilled relaxed vibes. Breakfast was plentiful. Lots of choice, full English, continental, fruits, pastries all of a good standard Staff all professional but genuinely friendly. Shout out to all the reception and restaurant staff Very smart hotel amazing value.

Would have loved Tea and Coffee making facilities in room

We arrived a couple of hours early and were fully expecting to have to leave our bags with reception so finding the room ready was really nice. The location is perfect as a base for exploring Faro and the surrounding area, 10 mins to either the train station or the ferry to the beach. The upstairs bar / pool area where breakfast is served is really nice, and breakfast was excellent with a large selection of cold and warm food. Beds were large and comfortable

The pictures of the pool area are somewhat deceiving and its not as big as it looks but as mentioned the area is nice to sit for drinks. I would have liked the ability to make hot drinks in the room, even a kettle would have been appreciated.

Hotel Faro & Beach Club is a very nice establishment. The lobby and rooms are immaculate. The staff are both gracious and helpful during checkin. Our room was very comfortable. The bed and pillows were just right. The breakfast is outstanding, it caters to everyone. The view from the restaurant at the top of the hotel is outstanding. The location is good. Close to the train and bus stations, the tourist attractions, restaurants , and shops. It is across the street from the small boat harbor. There is a MultiBanco money machine attached to the side of the building. We enjoyed our stay.
