This hotel has very beautiful decor, authentic vintage of a sophisticated recent past. I believe the hotel dates from the 60s and of course has been updated but without losing its essential character and charm. My room was immaculately clean and everything was super comfortable- the bed, the armchair, the wonderful ensuite with piping hot water, the soft towels and lovely bedlinens. When I arrived, quite late, I was shown into the room and the window blind was raised revealing the most spectacular view of downtown Lisbon, the Castle, the Tagus River and the estuary with the bridge and statue of Christ the redeemer on the other side. The view from the breakfast room is even more amazing, it's got to be the best in the city! It was an experience and my feeling was that the staff were very passionate in their connection with the place. This made it very special.

It would have been good to have had access to the upper floor room and terrace in the evening, to enjoy a little food and a drink. As a woman travelling alone I do not feel comfortable dining alone outwith the hotel.

A traditional hotel (a good thing in my view) with great location. We had a pleasant, quiet room with small balcony and fantastic views. The hotel was recently redecorated and our room was very clean and nicely prepared by the maid every day.

Cost was a little high for the level of hotel, but Lisbon is expensive for hotels (it always has been for many years actually). Breakfast ends at 10.00 even at the weekend and is rather expensive.

I like local owned hotels over chain type hotels, this one did not disappoint. My room had a great view over Lisbon was clean, comfortable, with friendly staff & in a nice quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was continental style & more than adequate, no cooked food. It is worth noting that a short walk away you can catch a Tram to get you into the centre of town. There are a good variety of restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

It was not a problem for me but, there are no facilities to make tea or coffee in the room. Not sure if available by request.

The hotel is located on the Senhora do Monte viewpoint in Lisbon. The breakfast room on the top floor has an astounding panoramic view of the city, as did our own room in the hotel. The staff spoke English well and were kind enough to store our luggage for a few hours on the day we checked out.

The hotel is located in an older non-touristy neighborhood and the streets are not laid out in a grid. Not many people who we asked for directions spoke English. Even with a map in hand, it is very easy to get lost.

Definitely can be called "room with a view." It sits on the highest hill in Lisbon and probably has the best hotel view in the city. Book one of the rooms with the mini balconies, #15,25 or 35 if you can. Best value for the money. Bathrooms are old school marble, quite decent. Sitting outside watching the sunset with music and a bottle of wine, what's not to love.

Electric charge sockets are in odd places.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in everything I needed. The View is amazing, you can see all of Lisbon (Bridge, City, sunset.. ) from you the room's windows It's a walking distance (10~15 min) e to a very nice area And being right next to a viewpoint, a lot of Tuk tuk are passing by

The room walls are so thin, so expect to hear some noise from down the street (being a popular area) or from the room above you

The views! Senhora do Monte is the highest and prettiest observation point and the hotel room had exactly the same views, which was amazing. The A/C was nice and cold. And the hotel was quite - I did not hear any noise from outside either, which provided much needed rest after walking all day in the heat. The water pressure was good. Everything was very clean. The bed was quite large (I'd say a queen size) and comfy. For the price I do not think I could have found a better place!!!

The major downsides were : only one outlet and no mini fridge. The water did not drain quite as fast and the amenities were a bit older. But all well kept and super clean! As the hotel sits a top of highest hill, only the tram 28 and bus 10B stop close enough not to climb the entire way up. It is some sort of a limitation if you have trouble walking up hill. Really I liked everything, and these complains do not outweigh all the pros.

Superb view, clean room, quality furniture (even if old), full equipped bathroom (with a bathtub), great location.

No fridge in the room No terrace or lounge area to smoke/relax Breakfast was good but the same every single day, and a bit missing (no eggs, no fried/baked anything). Weird noises from the plumbing

Excellent location...at one of the most beautiful view points in the city. Wonderful price for what you get. I stayed down by the Rossio Plaza my first night, and this spot was SO much better not being in a super crowded spot crawling with tourists. Staff was incredible though, and even helped me book a fado show. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel itself is old (which is why I am giving it a lower rating on facilities). They definitely need to upgrade their toilets to newer low-flow designs, because the one in my room used SO much water.

This is an unusual hotel: it has literally THE BEST view of the city, and it is somewhat outdated. Our room was big enough, with nice beds and perfect sheets (Portugal has terrific bed linen!). The highlight of the room was a small balcony with a breath-taking view of the city. Honestly, for us nothing else mattered. After we saw the view, we forgot that the hotel was not renovated and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is served on the top level terrace from which the view is even better! The staff was very nice.

This is an old-school hotel. The bathroom was a bit scary, with an old curtain and a sluggish drain. However, the city view overshadowed the disadvantages of this place for us. Read the reviews and see the pictures to determine if this is something you are going to be comfortable with.
