Very friendly staff. We loved our room - it was large and spacious and had lots of windows that opened to that spectacular view of the water and lower Lisbon! (booked "Luxury Suite with panoramic river View", on 4th floor). The bed was amazing. The room was very clean. The air conditioning worked great. Appreciated the carafe of port, fresh bottle of water each day, and a lovely bowl of fruit. I really prefer this type of "hotel" that exudes charm and personality. The terrace has that same beautiful view, and was really nice to eat breakfast in each morning, and to enjoy a delicious liter of sangria each evening. Would stay here again. Very special place.

The hike up the hill from the parking garage with many heavy suitcases was challenging, but we managed. (We are 66 and 70 yo). It is Alfama area, and the hills are steep. Not for the physically challenged. But I knew this when I booked it. Do your research and know what to expect. They will help with your bags up the stairs in the hotel. There is no elevator - keep this in mind!

- Certainly a boutique hotel as described - ideal. - Occupied 3 rooms (2 Doubles and 1 Luxury suite) all good, particularly the latter being spacious and with fantastic views over Lisbon. - Service was really good, expecially from Francois - very helpful all the time; told us everything we needed to know and where to go in Local area. - Great location albeit slightly higher than we were expecting but still close to Castle and Alfama area plus also nearby Elevator taking us down to the main city areas. - Breakfast was okay, continental much better option however instead of the cooked.

We stayed in the attic quite, which was surprisingly large and arranged perfectly, and from our patio, had immaculate views of the River, Christ the King, and the city as a whole. We got beautiful glimpses of sunset and sunrise, and the staff was super helpful and friendly, especially Francois. The onsite restaurant was convenient and had a roof top view of the city as well.

There is no lift at the property, so having a higher floor can be more of a hike, so be prepared. The staff will arrange to get luggage up and down however, so that is one thing you will not have to worry about. Also, because it is a historic area, Ubers, tours, etc., will have to meet you outside of the bollards (can only be accessed by local cars and taxis).

I don’t even know where to start! Staying here was absolutely the highlight of our 3 week honeymoon. The location is unmatched. Some of the best coffee shops, restaurants and bars, as well as tourist attractions are all within walking distance. We stayed at the top floor suite, which was the best experience ever. The terrace with the panoramic view is so incredible, it was an experience in itself. But the most special part of this hotel is the staff. Francois and Rio made us feel like royalty from beginning to end. They turned a great hotel experience into something unforgettable. Usually, I never stay in the sma hotel twice, but I cannot wait to come back here in the future.

The room service came in once but we were still there and then they didn’t check in whether we needed out room cleaned when we left. So we didn’t get to experience a made bed & straightened out room upon return, but it didn’t impact how much we loved our stay.

The hotel is in an excellent location and very quiet in the evening. The hotel restaurant and bar are wonderful, with good views of the bridge and river. What made the hotel a 6+ Were Rio and Francois, along with all the other staff. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, Rio and Francois did everything they could to make sure our stay was perfect. We cannot go into enough detail about all they did for us, and we could tell they were treating all the guests with the same excellent hospitality. If we ever have the chance to return to Lisbon, we will stay here again. Good breakfast as well. Fruits and a carafe of port wine in our room!

Location in the old town Alfama district of Lisbon, only a few hundred yards from the castle and cathedral. All the team/staff were excellent and did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We had room 4 which gave a fantastic and panoramic view over the city and the river (photo attached). We enjoyed lunch and drinks on the terrace overlooking the same view. This was also very popular with non-residents of the hotel. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Positive experiences began before we left our house. I reached out via the Booking.com app to ask about airport transportation and got an immediate response. Even better was that more than one person responded to keep the thread going. A+ The property sits up in the hill an easy walk from Sao Jorge Castle. The views are spectacular and so many choices for nearby meals. We booked the breakfasts and enjoyed them for each of the days we were there.

No complaints … complaints, we have none.

We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of September. It's a great location, despite being at the top of the hill near the Castle. Once you get oriented it's easy to walk anywhere in the Alfama and down to Baixa and the Barrio Alto. We had a room with a view over the red tiled roofs to the Tagus with the 25th of April Bridge in the distance. The room was good sized and comfortable. The staff was wonderful, particularly Rio and Francois. They were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. The terrace restaurant was great for lunch, afternoon Super Bock or dinner. The buffet breakfast was adequate. There are good restaurants within a 5 to 15 minute walk. Best of all is that Solar dos Mouros is next to Pastelaria Santo António, one of the best pastel de nata places in Lisbon. We will definitely stay here again whenever we return to Lisbon. Highly recommended.
