great location, very central, on an avenue that is one of the main ones, with several cafes and restaurants around for a cheap meal. less than 10 mins walk to Casa Da Mùsica metro station, which is one of the main because all metro lanes stop there (including purple line from airport). Helpful staff all of them.

room was not thoroughly clean because I found hair on the linen, and body soap/body gel should not come in small envelopes but in small containers just like any other standard hotel do.

Great location, near the metro and with very good bus connections to the heart of the city or to the coastline. Plenty of food options and grocery stores nearby. There is a café with bakery products right outside the door. The hotel itself is very old style (seems to be a common theme in the city), the staff are nice and the rooms are kept very clean. The bed was comfortable :) The beds are extremely high though, if you're a shorter person you may have trouble :) On the other hand the toilet is very low (compared to central Europe) so if you're too tall you'll be sitting weird.

Unfortunately at this time there were a lot of renovations in the city and also around Casa de Música, so definitely check for that when deciding to come to Porto. But there's little the hotel can do about that. My room had an air conditioner that spilled water indoors, they said they would get it checked. The air in the room gets stuffy easily and the sliding windows can be a bit of a pain to open. The breakfast is kind of a normal continental style, but only has one type of cut (ham) and one type of cheese, no vegetable tray such as cucumber or bell peppers or such.

The room was amazing with a walk out to a balcony up on the third floor .This Hotel was amazing and the breakfast which was 6.95 Euro's was excellent, all you could eat fresh fruits already sliced up. Pineapples, Apple's, pomegranate, yogurts, ham and cheese sandwiches you could toast if you so wished.and ofcourse great coffee tea etc,,.I can't say enough great thing's about this amazing place the Vice Rei Hotel. Local bus to downtown and also a 5 minute walk to a metro station! Lovely location too.

There was nothing to dislike at this great lHotel! Highly recommend this Hotel!

We stayed for a few nights and found the location is ok, but not the best for what we wanted to do. The reception is very friendly.

In the property description it says parking included, which I think is not true as on arrival we were told that their parking are all occupied. Looking at the surroundings this does not seem to be correct, but there is an underground parking available but it comes at a price which is not mentioned in the description when looking for the booking. There is also a lot of maintenance ongoing while we were staying there, which starts with drilling holes in the walls from 8am.

Spacious clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Easy to get to from the airport, and easy to explore Porto from. The bed was very comfortable, I was able to easily extend my stay. Late night check-in was also possible, I arrived at 1:00 am. There is a food hall behind the hotel and a supermarket, and a shopping centre. There is a cafe right outside the hotel. I like walking so I didn't find the location a problem at all, 30 minutes to the old town or the beach. It is uphill on the way back. There seemed to be a bus station behind the hotel.

There wasn't anything I didn't like

Loved the atmosphere at the hotel, the guys on reception were so polite and extremely helpful recommending places to eat and arranging taxis, and giving us directions. We had an issue with the noise late one night from nearby construction of the new subway, and they did not hesitate to move us the next morning into a room on the other side of the hotel which was much quieter. All in all, a very pleasant hotel for the price, with breakfast included as well. and I would definitely return on future trips to Porto.

The only issue we had with the area was the noise from late working hours at the nearby construction site which is not actually the hotel's fault, so not blaming them at all. To be honest. I think they're fed up with it too. And as I have said in my positive comment they didn't hesitate to offer us an alternative room at the front of the hotel which was quieter. But once it is finished it will make it even easier to explore from the hotel.

The hotel's location is really good for getting around Porto. Our room was clean and well appointed. The en suite bathroom was lovely. Our needs were catered for with a care and attention that made us feel like valued customers. Marco made us very welcome and because of him we'll be recommending the hotel to everyone we know and will definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay and have nothing bad to say about the hotel.

The staff of Hotel Vice-Rei were really helpful and always available. The room was comfortable and very clean.

The location is slightly off the center (~20-30 min walking distance), and the large avenue in front can be noisy at times.

The hotel was great and it served our needs for the night. It actually exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness!

We asked in advance for a late check in, 1 extra hour, as it was the 1st of January. The staff wasn't receptive to our ask and never considered giving it for free, instead asked us to pay half a day. It's not a huge deal breaker but considering it was the first day of the year and a bank holiday I'd expect them to be more flexible.

Our room at the Vice-Rei was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an extremely early flight to leave Porto and they were kind enough to call a cab to be at the hotel at exactly the right time to pick us up. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and good water pressure, although the shower was pretty tiny for my very tall husband. I didn't have any issues since I'm much shorter. In general, staying at the Vice-Rei was a great experience!

The Vice-Rei is in the financial district, so we had to take either a cab or the subway to get to the historic district. The subway was an easy walk to get to and drops you off right in the middle of the historic district so that was convenient. If you want to be within walking distance to the historic district, this won't be a good option for you. However, we liked coming home to a quieter area at the end of a long day of sightseeing. There are limited restaurants nearby.
