We stayed in room 103 - a beautiful view of the ocean and the bay. It was such a great sound to hear the waves crashing on the rocks when getting to sleep and waking up. The room was big enough for the two of us, and has a lovely balcony. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There is a TV, hospitality tray, small fridge, tower fan and plenty of storage. The staff were very nice and friendly apart from one. Food in the restaurant was also nice.

The mosquitos feasted on me - I had about 20 bites, and that was with repellent. Not the hotel's fault obviously. The young lady at breakfast is in the wrong job. Didn't see her smile once whilst we were there, and she was abrasive when asked questions. She might just not be a morning person.

-the location of the hotel is fantastic, near the ocean and in the center of Porto da Cruz; you sleep in the sound of waves; -the breakfast was good, though quite basic; -3 nice restaurants near/under (including those of the hotel.); -they did the room and changed towels daily (surprising for a 2 star hotel)

-the floor is made with big wooden tiles so you can hear every step from your neighboirs. Some of them yet walking alot at 11 pm and started walking at 7 am… impossible have a good rest; -the door from the bathroom was not closing properly but with a terrible noise and same from neighbours (what you csn hear);

Location, Location, Location!!! Situated overlooking the sea with the waves crashing was a phenomenal experience!! The room was clean and well appointed, although a little on the small side. The expansive balcony with sun loungers, hammock, table, and chairs was fantastic with 360-degree vistas. Kettle, tea, and coffee were available in the room. I requested a fan as the room did get hot and was provided very quickly. Don't expect a full service hotel. Reception hours are limited with reception available via booking.com messenger. Breakfast was a simple affair with options, with sea front seating. The bar and restaurant appear to be open Friday - Tuesday, with other options available in the locality. I absolutely loved my stay here, with the sound of waves as you fall asleep and hope to return!!!

While reception and housekeeping staff were very pleasant and extremely friendly, the girl with the long red hair in the breakfast room was beyond rude and offered no assistance whatsoever. This property and its surroundings are amazing, but this individual is not an asset!! Insect screens on the doors could help with ventilation while keeping the insects out.

The view from the hotel room and its balcony was astonishing. It is located very close to the ocean and beautiful hills. The room is big enough for two people. There is a kettle and teas so you can make something warm to drink at any time you want. Breakfast is very good and diverse - a few kinds of rolls, homemade cake, freshly squeezed juices, fruit salad and many more good things to choose from. A big plus is that the hotel has its own restaurant with good, traditional dishes. You don't have to look for a place to eat when you come to a new place. Good wi-fi. Very nice and helpful staff especially the ladies in the canteen. And a welcome drink - a glass of wine or poncha.

This was our 3rd stay here - we just love the spot right in front of the Atlantic - and good access to many walks. Our room was on the seafront with small balcony hanging over the sea. Go to sleep listening to the waves crashing. Have breakfast at tables right by the ocean.

Nothing in particular - the rooms are basic but totally comfortable. The place probably needs a bit of TLC & don't expect to be pampered here or get much attention from the staff - but if you're happy with that it's a to-die-for spot, kept clean, and the rooms are perfectly comfortable

We had a corner suite with 2 decks - one small one on the front and a huge deck on the side with sun loungers, table and chairs and a patio set. The view was great from both decks. Loved having the little fridge and microwave and the included breakfast each morning had all you need. It wasn't hot enough to need air con so we didn't miss that there wasn't any available. The location is perfect with restaurants just below on the seaside.

Finding parking can be a bit tricky but we always managed to find a spot within 2-3 blocks. The bathroom window is wood and is constantly wet from the shower so it's a bit worse for wear. Overall it was a great apartment and we would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is situated in a quiet town, its location is perfect when it comes to traveling around the island. Breakfasts are fresh and tasty, every day there was different pastry available. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to satisfy every our need. Rooms are cleaned every day, towels are also changed every day if needed, they also provide you with beach towels. It was so relaxing to fall asleep with the sound of waves and wake up to the most beautiful sunrises. Next time we're in Madeira, we will definitely come back here!!!

Hotel Vila Bela is in Porto da Cruz which is a mesmerizing little town next to the ocean. When I close my eyes I can still see the thrilling view from the balcony of the room and I can hear the sound of waves hitting the rocks. Rooms were cleaned every day and it was good to arrive back to a tidy room after the exhausting hikings. The breakfast was generous and filling. The hotel has a restaurant by the ocean and drinking your morning coffee within a reach from the waves is priceless.

The location is gorgeous. Breakfast was nice, and the restaurant served great food. We had a huge patio, which was an excellent place to lounge.

Beds are a little old, with creaky springs. Also they let us know the AC wasn’t working, and provided fans, but we either needed more fans so you could sleep comfortably without the patio doors open, or screens to keep out the bugs. I got a ton of bug bites during the night, like dozens and dozens.

Vila Bela is located in the beautiful town Porta da Cruz, with a great ocean view and rum distillery nearby :) We really enjoy eating delicious breakfast sitting at the tables at the ocean <3 Room was great, comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfast, tasty fruits and meat. Often fresh juice - yummy! And thank you for birthday gift - you made my day!!!

Everything was GREAT!!! But it was one thing which was weird for us - we noticed a bit different quality of breakfast depends on probably of number of guests. It was less choice when less guests, and more choices when we saw more guests on breakfast. It could be less food, when less people, we fully understand it! But it's fine to have a wide range of food everyday ;)
