Very comfortable bed, parking, AC, good hot shower, amazing breakfast that even included champagne as a beverage choice. The pool was nice but a little small for the overall size of the place. There are historic elements (not restored) if you ask about them.
The place needs some sprucing up. Light fixtures coming loose in the halls, lack of nice landscaping for the "high end" price, we has a short in one of our bedside lights, etc. None of this affected our comfort in a meaningful way, but the place just needs a bit more effort for the price they charge. Overall, we felt we were paying a lot to stay in a historic building, but it would be nice if it was a little better kept.

Breakfast was absolutely over the top wonderful and exceptional with so many indulgent options. The room was comfortable, large and well equipped. We enjoyed walking around the convent discovering all the beautiful art and architecture.
There was little to no food service in the evening. Since the Convent is a bit remote from a lively city, we feel it would have been better to offer more than ham and cheese sandwiches at night when people returned to the hotel and were hungry. There were not any markets or many restaurants near by where you could grab a bite to eat.

We have stayed here two or three times before and only go back because they accept dogs. The reception staff are, usually, either rude or just not available. We have had some BAD experiences here. On this occasion, however, there was a different receptionist, Telma. She was both courteous and efficient. Telma made our stay enjoyable and we would look forward to returning. I think that there has been a management shake up in this hotel. It needed it.
Why do Booking.com advertise that the restaurant is open when it only opens on Friday's and Saturday's?

the pool was great for the kids. Outside area really spacious and plenty of chairs around the pool area for us to be comfortable. The rooms were pretty spacious as well, we loved the furniture. Everything was neat and clean. Breakfast was always fresh and we the offer was diverse. Staff is really nice and available to help guests. We had a lot of fun in the game room as well. Parking spaces available, but few in the shadow - in the summer heat, temperatures in the area are very high. Some really nice restaurants to dine in, walking distance from the hotel.
the accessories for the game room (ping pong table) weren’t in the best of shape.

Wonderful large room with historic furnishings.Bathroom was very big with beautiful tiles.Loved the big thick walled corridors and little snippets of history everywhere. Old wall frescoes an old chapel.Big comfortable lounges. Our bikes had a parking place in the pousada in an old hallway.
Nothing not to like.Breakfast was also great.Would have been nice to have teamaking facilities in lounge.

We loved our stay in all ways. The only reason I didn’t do the 10 was because the restaurant was closed the three nights we were there, so I cannot rate that. But the receptionist was giving us excellent advice about where to have dinner instead. But if we have a chance, we’d certainly be back. The breakfast buffet was the most amazing we’ve ever experienced. Wonderful place to stay.

Location, good breakfast, rooms were comfortable.
One staff member (young lady) was very friendly allowing late check out at 2 pm (we finishedlate after bike race) the next one on Sunday afternoon did not allow my wife to take a shower slightly after 2 pm though. Price for one night was pretty high (275 Euro) which I think a short shower a bit out of time might be included.

Excellent. Lovely pousada in an historic setting. Conversion and restoration has been done with style and feeling to retain as much of the character as possible. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. A big thanks to Ines for her help. Lovely hot and cold selection for breakfast in an amazing setting. Restaurant was closed when we were there - only open at weekends - but were given a selection of local restaurants in town for evening meal. Didn't use outdoor facilities because of the time of year (end of March) but they looked good.
Very minor comments. Some road noise from traffic on the side street first thing in the morning - cobbles and narrow street. Bedding was very good quality but heavy so during the night got very warm but cold when douvet removed. Maybe include a lighter weight douvet in the room.

We last stayed at this lovely Pousada five years ago, and Covid forced postponement in 2020 and 2021. It is a beautiful old building, a rabbit warren of fascinating rooms, the lounges and breakfast rooms are especially attractive. We did notice that a lot of the attractive flower arrangements etc were no longer there, and though the rooms internally are in good condition the external walls are not as bright and clean as when we last visited. Breakfast continued to be of a very high quality but we dined elsewhere. The location of the hotel adjacent to the Royal Palace and Square is quite wonderful.
Our superior room, on the third floor, was spacious but badly lit and poorly set out. The rwo most comfortable chairs had no natural light or electric light. Reception did manage to provide a table lamp but it was still a struggle to read a book whilst sitting in the chairs.

Right next door to the Palace, free parking inside and outside the Pousada grounds, excellent WiFi speed (considering the thick walls) Very spacious rooms, separate wardrobe and armchairs corners, plenty of English speaking channels on the TV, central heating in the room worked well. Entire hotel was warm with fireplaces in the several lounges. Complimentary bottle of water daily. Easy walk into town centre and good choice of restaurants that were opened despite middle of winter. Close excess to the Armoury & Hunting museums (very impressive) and Castle.
As usual for me, the beds were too hard and on the first night, the shower temperature was only warm. Eggs & bacon at breakfast was only warm (disappointing) despite good choice of cold cuts, local breads and fruits. Nespresso coffee machine saved the breakfast!!
