Beautiful sight seeing from the pool and restaurants.

- The hotel is very old fashioned - they just gave me one key to the room even though I had to pay an additional fee for my wife - its a labyrinth

No tea and coffee facilities in the room

Perfect hotel on the cliff edge. Yummy breakfast, clean room and outdoor swimming pool. Lovely bar by the pool. Friendly staff. Great location, a little bit away from busy Catania. Located withing 10 minute walk from train station Cannizzaro, where you can hop on a train to Taormina for €5. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel. Bus 534 goes once an hour and will take you into the heart of Catania, single journey costs €1. You can get tickets from little shops called Tabacci, they also sell train tickets.

We stayed only for 4 nights and it felt that we didn't have enough time to enjoy the hotel.

We had such an amazing time and wished we could have stayed longer. The pool is super lovely to hang out around. We also had a room upgrade which I think helped our stay feel extra special. You would want a car when staying here as it's outside of Catania city so you need a car to go back and forth between there. But overall, a super great old hotel that whilst aged, feels like it is doing so super gracefully. Breakfast was great.

We weren't allowed to swim in the sea off the rocks when we were there as there was a bit of movement in the water. We were a bit disappointed by this as we are strong swimmers and prefer to swim in the sea over the pool. But nonetheless understand it is for the safety of all visitors and the hotel has a duty of care to ensure that.

The room was very comfortable and the pool was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and friendly at the reception and at the pool. It was a shame you had to pay extra to lounge by the sea on the private beach but there were always sun loungers available around the pool.

I didn't like having to pay so much for water around the pool and in the hotel and there didn't seem to be any nearby supermarkets. The food wasn't that great at the pool restaurant or main restaurant but the breakfast had a lovely selection although the coffee machine didn't always work.

This is a beautiful, traditional Italian hotel that has been kept in that style. Amazing views across the sea. Brilliant breakfast with a huge variety. High quality food in the evening with great service from all team members. Very large, comfortable bed. Special mention to Sergio the barman. There were around 100 cocktails on the menu and he appeared to be able to make them all from memory, with a super cool, chilled demeanour.

Little way out of town which was great for us as quiet, but might be a problem for those without transport.

We loved the breakfasts in the sun, and the restaurant area, the large pool and the spacious area round it with lots of sun-beds, towels etc.,the cliff edge overlooking the sea.

I tripped on the step and fell flat, as I was coming into the hotel out of the bright sunlight, and possibly cracked a rib, though with the shock I didn't feel much pain at the time. Falling hard onto the marble is no fun. If the next person to fall cracks their head, the hotel could possibly have a death on the premises, which could be avoided if there had been a thick carpet with underlay in the reception area. Something more than a note to 'Beware of the step' is needed, because there are many things to distract your attentions you enter the lobby.

The sun deck area, overlooks the sea and cliffs. Absolutly Stunning. The bar and restaurant also have the same stunning views. Superb.

The pace of Bar service in Sicily tends to be relaxed and unhurried (Which I love, especially with such a view when having drink or food at the bar) However, at times, the Bar service was extremely slow, to the point that at times we had to approach the bar several times. (Each time thinking that the order was forgotten) - Fine if the bar is busy, but not when it was particuarly quiet. (Again, the peacful quiet with view was stunning)

1. Room view : at first arrived, received a room on ground floor just next to pool. Definitely it was a same room in the booking. Com but very different atmosphere. Claimed a room and received another one but confronting other rooms. Next day received bigger and nicer room finally. If you are sensitive to room condition, recommend to contact hotel in advance. 2. Noise : due to old facilities, you can hear bathroom sounds of next room. 3. It is mostly with families and couples nor for alone tourists. 4. Bathroom : similar to other Italian hotels, small bathroom and old facilities. Had a hole in shower line.
