The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We requested for our room to be cleaned daily and they were very on point. They also answered our questions regarding the area forwardly which we appreciated very much. The room was very comfy especially for us who have a daily itinerary during our stay. It was spacious enough as well for our stuff and the free coffee & tea were fantastic. The location was alright for us, it gave us a good walking exercise for commute via train and it was fairly close to bus stations we can navigate. There were also a lot of food businesses around the area which were open just in time for breakfast and a little bit past your usual dinner time.

The bathroom is a bit small. The shower and toilet were close to each other so only one (1) person could really use it even if another has an emergency of sorts. But we're still thankful that hot & cold water are available and that they had completed toiletries.

For Singapore standards it’s great value for money. The room is basic and clean and everything just works. Location is great, it’s in Geylang, not far from MRT Uljunied, the Old Airport Road food Centre, lots of shops and restaurants and of course the Happy Seafood Village to drink a beer. It’s a great place to discover Singapore

The hotel is in the red light district. However it is changing rapidly into a new vibrant part of town. If I were an investor, I would invest in property in this area

Room was serviced everyday. Bed linen, towels etc were quite clean. Front office and room service staff were courteous and friendly.

Being located in a notorious place, adjoining rooms were let out on hourly basis and were on couple of occasion "noisy". If with family, definitely give this hotel a skip.

Convenient property for just one night. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was amazing in the bathroom. 20 mins away from the airport and 15 minutes away from the Marina Bay area. Good location.

Service staff were excellent, replacing towels, sheets and offering complimentary bottled water every couple of days when servicing the rooms. Very polite reception staff. Clean room. Lift looked new/recently refurbished. Toilet/shower looked new/recently refurbished. Location of the hotel is good, with easy access to public transport and food. Great location if you love durians. We stayed for 7 days and were happy to find a coin-operated laundromat within walking distance (Geylang Lorong 21)

Space in the room was a little tight, with not much room for bags. Toilet/shower was a little small with the entire floor getting wet after a shower.

Good location, walkable from bus and metro station. Locality is clean, comfortable. Staffs are well behaved Room was neat and clean. Although very basic facilities, but it was expected considering the low budget. Room had tea and coffee maker, towels were clean, toilet was perfectly clean and they serviced everyday

Drinking water is less sufficient per head per day. Its 2 bottles of 500 ml Toilet is very small No breakfast facility in hotel. However nearby locality has many low budget restaurants that offer local and other foods Locality is red light area. But truely speaking, it does noot seem so. Small shops like look and if you stare at them, they call by waving hand and that's all. Not disturbing at all. No female on road, no ugly pictures. You will in fact might miss these if you dont know

Hotel 81 Gold is an awesome budget hotel just off the vibrant Geylang Road and 10 minutes walk from the Aljunied MRT station. The hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. There was a kettle, fridge and lockbox in our room which were very useful. My teenage kids shared a room with two single beds. The rooms also had good wifi. As this is a budget hotel the rooms are small, as is the toilet/shower. This is not a resort hotel, but it is perfect for the traveller who is going to be spending all day exploring Singapore and needs somewhere to sleep before the next adventure.

Great that the hotel installed a dedicated water filter and faucet. No need to buy water from the grocery. Excellent location too. Just a 10min walk to Aljunied Stn and most buses go straight to nearest city center like Bugis

Fridge a bit needs cleaning inside and out
