This place is a very nice place! Probably the nicest in Rockford. It was relatively easy to get to, and conveniently located to where I was attending an event in town; it was about a 10-minute walk to the Coronado Theatre. Check-in was extremely easy - I didn't even have to stop at the desk, as the check-in and my digital key were all taken care of through the Hilton app. I even used the chat feature in the app to request a TV remote, as mine was surprisingly missing when I got to the room. I used the city parking lots across the street for parking, which are free after 5 PM and before 8 AM during the week; no problem for me, as I arrived later in the afternoon and left early in the morning. The free breakfast in the lowest level of the hotel was a nice touch, too. They'll make your eggs however you want it, but I opted for waffles and coffee and bacon only. The hotel also hosts an evening cocktail hour for guests, but I didn't partake.

It was a little unclear to me on how to partake in the evening welcome cocktail hour, free for guests. But, I didn't stick around long enough to figure it out, so that's on me. My walk-in shower, while otherwise great, had some spots that needed cleaning - a few spots of soap scum on the caulk along the bottom of the tile inside the shower. For a place that fancy, there ought to be no sign of mold/soap scum. But these are otherwise minor issues that would not prevent me from staying at this property again.

The rooms were different. Long, narrow but comfortable. The happy hour was fun. Breakfast was just amazing. Cook to order eggs, etc., hit the spot. Beautiful property. We had a few interactions with the employees and to a person they were FANTASTIC. We had a minor problem with a dead battery in what sounded like a fire alarm but staff reacted immediately and came to the room to check it out. In all a very good stay. Parking across the street.

Off the interstate but not a big issue

The room style was very nice and was an excellent experience. The only issues were small and didn't ruin our fun.

Pool room was over humid and appeared to have too many chemicals in the air. May need a look at ventilation. Bathroom door was very squeaky when opening and closing and would close by itself, causing a horror movie squeak, if you didn't open it all the way and hold it for a second. Odd smell in hallways. Some light bulbs out in the room.

Room was very nice and bed was absolutely great. The free drinks were very nice however the appetizers were less than desirable. Breakfast was very good, omletes, potatoes and coffee>

On the Embassy website they say they offer pay per view movies however I wasn't able to locate them. I asked at the front desk about how to access them and they weren't very helpful. Also only had one remote in the room for two TV's and again asked the front desk was given a remote that did not work

It was just a pleasant experience all around. Friendly staff. Very unique features such as the elevator, wall coverings down to light fixtures throughout. Love that a coffee shop is in building and 2 options for drinks and food. Breakfast staff was absolutely accommodating and friendly and very delicious. Check in and check out was a breeze.

Amazing building and amazing room! It was great having a suite for us as travelling with a teenager so we could have our own space. The whole space was big and we loved it. We had a Hilton reception on arrival too with a drink and nibbles. The breakfast was delicious and had good options. We had a meal too which was very good. Everyone was helpful and friendly. It was in a good location for us too.

We had to pay for parking at the meter opposite the hotel. Area near riverfront felt a bit dodgy in evening.

The best experience with the most helpful staff. I felt like I was living in luxury, and I never wanted to leave. My girlfriend was treated like a queen. Breakfast was wonderful. All the other guests were in a great mood, as well.

A couple of rungs on one of the ladders in the pool seemed loose. I mentioned it to the front desk and they said they would send maintenance. the cabanas could use a chair to facilitate handicapped and elderly customers who have trouble balancing while changing on a wet floor.

Quiet, large spacious rooms, great breakfast, well located. Loved reading about the historical aspects of the property!

Bath tub very slippery and no rubber mats were available; I'm recovering from a wrist fracture and the single grab bar was not enough to insure feeling safe. Couch and chairs were uncomfortably hard and need cleaning. Brighter lighting needed in bathroom would have been appreciated (in sink area)

It was new

The hotel is nice, everything is new, but the area is not safe at night. There is no security presence at the hotel and on two occasions I heard semi-automatic gunfire in the area. Moreover, the parking areas are not well lighted and they charge $16.50 per day.

What a beautiful hotel! We loved our corner suite! The views were amazing, the room was clean and luxurious, the free breakfast was great (and made to order) and the free dinner reception was a nice perk. The restaurant had great food. It was also great that the hotel was so close to the Children's Museum and the Natural History Museum (both of which were amazing!).

Parking is a bit tricky having to use the public pay lots (free on weekends though). The pool was chilly (the pool room was not heated and they didn't stock enough pool towels for everyone), but the hot tub was nice.
