Extremely relaxing in every single way. From the location to the staff and the comfortable surroundings and beautiful furnishings and fixtures in the Hotel itself not to mention the lovely Manager Ryan he couldn't have been any nicer or helpful.Thank you to All
There was no quiet relaxing music in the Dining Room to drown out the sound of other guests moaning about not getting toast with their breakfast due to an unfortunate incident in the kitchen at breakfast time as the Fire Alarm went off. Sometimes things like that can't be helped 🤣 🫣.

After a long drive from Birmingham, the overwhelming pleasure of arriving at the Kings Arms was the friendly and helpful approach of all the staff. The food was well prepared and well priced and we enjoyed a very pleasant event with a mixture of hotel guests and local people who enjoyed the bar regularly. Amongst the customers were a number of musicians, not associates, who went into an impromptu performance, assisted by some of the customers and the hotel staff. Everyone was at ease with the spontaneity of the atmosphere, including the hotel management. Relaxing and uplifting!

A recent two night stay in the town on the last leg of our week-long roadtrip around Dumfries & Galloway. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation/upgrade work but this did not impinge on our pleasant stay. The room we were allocated (No5) was located towards the rear of this large old historic building which meant we enjoyed peaceful sleeps on both nights, with no internal/external noise. The host and staff members Hannah and Sam plus the chef were all friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had a great stay. We had full cooked breakfasts on both mornings, and also chose to eat our evening meals in the hotel - all meals were of a high quality with good portion sizes.
As the hotel is going through an upgrade it is to be expected that the rooms may be somewhat dated but fundamentally all facilities proved to be great and just what you would expect, aside from the shower which had a poor water flow/speed. In the overall scheme of things, and over two nights, it was manageable.

Interesting building presently being upgraded. The staff (all, including chef) encouraged comments and especially, conversation and were sensitive to need. It was good to learn about the background to present changes. We were present on a night when others staying included one who with companion, was walking from Liverpool to Glasgow and others were on a specialist fishing trip searching (walking rivers) in for very specific sized grayling. As we were also walking and exploring options for a long-distance footpath, the conversations in the evening were fascinating.
As there is considerable renovation underway comments about the room as it is may soon be irrelevant ….. it felt rather cramped with the bed rather too close to the bathroom

Nice hotel, being refurbished, pleasant staff. Had dinner and meals were all very nice.
Booked for a family, but the room didn't have all the beds made. Not towels for every person, had to ask at front desk for them. Tray with refreshments only had, 2 mugs, some tea, coffee and sugar. No hot chocolate, bottles of water or biscuits. (Having stayed before this is normally left and friends staying at same time had everything out for them) Tea, coffee and milk not replenished during stay had to ask at front desk again for these items.

Location was ideal, and given that there are not too many places to dine or drink in Lockerbie of an evening it was handy that both were available not too far from my bed. The quality of the food, at both dinner and breakfast, was excellent and the portions were not small. The beers on tap were a good selection, including Green King’s Ice Breaker IPA and the wines were pretty much all available by the glass at very reasonable prices. My single bed room was very comfortable, and I was shown Room 1, the upgraded suite, which is the standard to which they will be upgrading all the rooms and it was really special.
Not much to comment on… the staff behind the bar could have been quicker to acknowledge us standing there rather than chatting to the locals who knew all their life’s challenges, but once we were eventually served they were fine.

Visited for a last minute break on Hogmanay for 2 nights with my partner for his birthday and our dog. Staff were very friendly, dogs are only allowed in one of the bars, the Hogmanay party was in the upstairs bar, as the dog was not allowed there, we stayed downstairs in the bar, the manager sent us down champagne at the bells and allowed us to go to the buffet for food, even though we hadn’t bought a ticket for the event. The other days we had our food in the dog friendly bar, food was great, full cooked breakfast, other options were available, and for dinner we opted for home made steak pie, again there were many options to choose from. Location was good for long walks, nature reserve close by. Room was small but had everything we needed, bed was comfy and clean.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The corridors at the bedrooms was noisy through the night but that was to be expected with the Hogmanay celebrations, which we were aware of before we went and was to be expected, I assume at other times of the year this would not be an issue.

There was a king size bed, or rather mattress sitting on a standard bed, only just enough room to open the door to the bathroom, whilst facilites were a little tired it was adequate for our needs. We ate in the hotel, the food was basic, but the service was a little slow, this may have been due to a big event in the town itself, who knows. Breakfast, just OK, heavy on fried foods, potato scones looked almost deep fried rather than cooked on a griddle. However, a good place for a stopover whiich was we did.
Curtains to thin, let in light

The owner and staff were welcoming and friendly and took time to chat even though they were busy it being New years eve. The room was perfect and extremely clean and comfortable. There was a band on which we got tickets for, we tried a bit of traditional Scottish dancing which was hilarious trying to learn ( not as easy as it looks!) . The breakfast was absolutely perfect, plentiful and tasty. We will definitely return.

Excellent meals both Carvery and Breakfast. Bar good and lively.
Would have been better if we'd been asked our vehicle registration number when checking in. On the Monday morning there was a vehicle blocking our's in and there was no record of whose it was. Thanks to your Staff (particularly Sam) we were able to manoeuvre our car out - but only after a lot of furniture had been moved in the garage area. Three cheers for their initiative!
