This is the best host I can imagine and the most charming welcome to this beautiful country. Lydia was in touch with me as soon as I booked and as many times as I needed to ask questions as my arrival date approached. Her explanations and directions were very clear and effective. She and her husdand also waited for me close to the guesthouse when I arrived so she can guide me to the house, which is in a maze of quaint old alleys. After being on a long flight and severly jetlagged, this was such a blessing. The room is cozy and spacious, in an old Korean house in a hanok area. There is everything you need there. It is very well appointed, with cute and tasteful ceramics and details. There is a kettle, microwave, stove top, plates, bowls, cuttlery, shared washer and dryer, and quality toiletries in both the room and the bathroom. I had the opportunity to try a really good cosmetics brand which otherwise I wouldn't have tried, which she supplies guests with. The shower has strong flow and hot water in abundance. The bed is on the hard side, but this may be ok with most people. I tend to sleep on soft beds. The pillows are the perfect softness and height. I'm both a back and side sleeper and they were right on. The AC was on at night and it was quiet enough to sleep with it on. What stands out the most though, is the host herself. I booked a guesthouse on purpose for my first stay in Korea so I can talk to a host rather than a more impersonal hotel but Lydia exceeded all expectations in that regard. It felt like I was hanging out with a friend more than anything. She showed me the neighbourhood, had coffee and lunch with me, and went on a hike with me. We talked about a lot of things and she answered patiently the many questions I had. I hope she gets excellent guests all the time because she works hard and people need to meet his wonderful person.

Great location! Nearby tourist attractions (palaces), restaurants and the metro. Perfect stay, in a good, clean, modern appartment. With all facilities. Very comfortable beds. And a lovely, very helpfull host! Great stay in Seoul!

There are two appartments available, one big and one small. We stayed in the cheaper, small appartment with our family of 4. That was a little bit tight, but on the otherhand there was enough space, and also enough space (via small extra rooms) to store all our luguage etc. We are very happy that the host allowed us to stay in the smaller appartment with 4 persons. For us it was perfect, and we loved our stay. For sure would stay here again next time. Just mention this so you can choose which luxury vs costs you prefer

Lydia is an exceptional host, i have never met more genuine person, passionate about their guesthouse. Every corner you would look at, you can see care and thoughtfullness put into it. Guesthouse is equiped with everything you could think of: starting from dishes and q tips and having full skincare kit for you disposale. Lydia really cares about this place and her guests. The highlight of my stay in Seoul was a hike she suggested me. Not only she showed me beautiful mountains in Seoul, i also got immersed into local life walking through market and narrow streets, meeting aunties from church and drinking coffee in small bakery. I honestly enjoyed every second of my stay at this guest house and it felt more of the stay at the friend's rather than something commercial, which i think really differs this place from others. The other sweet point i remembered is the amount of painting on the wall in the housing from grateful guests. It really shows how big of a heart Lydia has and how many friends she made during time taking care of the guesthouse. I wish Lydia all the best and can highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Seoul. Will be waiting for Lydia Craft Guesthouse in Sokcho:)

Where to begin? This guest house is PERFECT. The location is phenomenal, at the end of a food alley street with so many wonderful options. The house is so close to shops and restaurants but is so very quiet and peaceful. The train station and bus stop is very close. The main centre of town is a 25 minute walk away or a short train ride. The house is spacious, bright, comfortable, clean, and has everything you could need or want. Perfect for a couple to stay. The host, Lydia, was simply magnificent, she greeted us even though it was late in the evening when we arrived, and she took my and my partner on a trek up the mountain - she was informative, fun, youthful, happy, and a real friendly person. Lydia helped showing us how to use the washing machine and clothes dryer, and how to use the central under-floor heating - kept us nice and warm on cold nights. For summer, there is an a/c. The shower is comfortable and the bidet is luxurious. The house has an art and craft theme, with drawings from previous guests and an invitation for us to draw a picture to leave as well! So much fun. The bed is very comfortable. Seriously, no complaints at all.

Nothing.

Lydia's husband, Baebae waited for us at the bus stop (6011 from aiport - takes just over 1 hr), he then helped us carrying one of the suitcases and walked us to the apartment. After showing us around the apartment took us to Jahamun eating street, 5' walk, and helped us ordering dinner! Best host ever! The apartment has a very traditional interior, the bed is very comfortable and the under floor heating is great after a cold day out. The apartment is very well located, easy walk to town, to Gyeongbokgung Palace and the main attractions. A tip for visitors, download Naver app as Google maps doesn't work in Korea. As there was no other booking after us, we were allowed to leave our bags in the apartment until 4pm!!

Nothing!

The place was so cute and super clean. When we arrived, the owner prepared a welcome fruit plate and a super cute hand writing message on the wall. The owner was nice and friendly. The guesthouse is a small unit which was renovated in an old-fashioned Korean house but the location was great- 10 min from the Kyungbokgung station and tons of yummy food nearby. They provide all different amenities even like toothpaste, face/body lotion. The small kitchen was very useful and you can even use a washer. They also provide extra mattress(futon)with a blanket. The whole area was super cleaned which I loved the most.

Smell of mildew in the washroom but the place is super clean and well maintained.

Lydia was a terrific host and very helpful with our needs, answering our questions and providing helpful information. If I get back to Seoul I would certainly stay there again. We were initially concerned about the available amenities in the area but everything we needed was close at hand. Thank you Lydia for everything that you did for us. You made our Seoul vacation special.

The shower was small for me but I'm a big guy, my travelling companions were fine with it.

Very comfortable stay in a great location! Lydia welcomes you with tea and treats, and a tour of the home and the area, including good places to hike and eat. If this is your first visit to Seoul, you will find her inside information very helpful. Our family of 7 had a very comfortable stay and the guesthouse can easily sleep 9 comfortably. Some of our favorite nearby visits along with the other sites she may mention are Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin, Statue of King Sejong the Great (and museum), and the Cheonggyecheon. Please note that the address on Google Maps and Naver Maps (LUDIA Crafts Guest House) will lead you to the wrong street. You might want to try 8 Pirundae-ro 1-gil, as that will be right in front of the alley that leads to the guest house.

The house is historic so there are some minor issues that Lydia will explain, but they are not major issues. The electrical outlets in the guest house are circular, so universal travel adapters will not fit in them. Thankfully, there was one adapter plugged into a surge protector.

Lydia's craft guesthouse was the perfect accommodation for our 3-day stay in Seoul. Lydia welcomed us with tea and fruit to show us around and provide us with valuable tips for Seoul. The recommended hike up Ingwansan Mountain is a dream. The flat is great and lacks nothing! The location couldn't be better: quiet and yet "right in the centre". Subway, buses, restaurants, cafes, Gyeongbokgung Palace....

Very convenient location within easy walking distance of bus/metro stops, the palace, hiking trails & restaurants. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The host, Lydia, was great! Well organised, responded very quickly to any questions/concerns, and really friendly. We spent one of the days there together with her hiking & exploring some local sights, which was really amazing!
