after paying the check in the beachbar, the waiter run after me, he complained that we didn’t gave him enough tip and he want’s more. It is very rude and inappropriate in a 5* Hotel. The restaurant staff also made faces if the tip was less what they excepted. The prices are quite high anyway. I had the feeling, they think so, if I can afford a 5* Hotel, I must give them after every order the expected 25%. That’s why, I don’t think that I will ever return to this hotel.

We stayed in La Zebra in mid January for 4 nights. I wished I booked longer. It is located on georgous Tulum beach with white sands and Palm trees. The beach club and food is really good. The ambiance is really nice. Our room was located on the beach with a plunge pool, which was heated whenever we asked for it. The room was very spacious with a nice decoration, exclusive Mexican atmosphere. The room is cleaned everyday. We found hot ginger tea and chocolates every night when we arrived in our room. You have everything ready in the room, from umbrellas to yoga mats, brewed Mexican coffee. Front desk team, Lucy, Ricardo, Estaban were great. Our special thanks to Juan Carlos, he helped us in everthing we asked for, from restaurant recommendations to private excursions. I would definetely recommend La Zebra to anyone travelling to Tulum. Come with or without children. Tulum Tips: The parties in Tulum begin with brunch, continues with sunset, dinner and night. Entertainment anytime of the day:)))

The hotel exceeded our expectations, the rooms was spacious and had small details that made our stay even more comfortable. The level of service and kindness from the stuff was outstanding, we experienced a 5 star service level from a 4 star hotel. The location is perfect, just in the middle of the beach strip, surrounded by restaurants, bars, pharmacy and mini markets.

Food at the restaurant could have been better seasoned, more authentic, sometimes it felt like it was catered to American palate instead of with Mexican flair.

Great facilities and staff! We traveled with a 2.5 year old and we’re looking for things to do in Tulum. The options were limited but one of the locals recommended us to check out La Zebra beach club. We went and spent about 6 hours that day and loved it. They had an area for adults to lounge and enjoy (beach cabanas, restaurant, pool) but they also have an area specifically for young kids. Playground, coloring area, etc. We loved it so much we booked our las night stay there and got a beachfront room with plunge pool. Our only regret was not having stayed there more nights. We absolutely loved it and we all had a great time.

The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and a few steps from the beach. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They pay attention to the details. They clean up the seaweed in front of the hotel, which makes for a really nice beach experience

There could have been a bit more variety in food, and larger portions for the price

We loved our stay at La Zebra! The rooms are chic and comfortable, the food is great (and probably the best coffee bar in Tulum right in the hotel!). The staff is absolutely incredible, so attentive and helpful, while not too intrusive when trying to relax on the beach. Special thanks to Francisco for the amazing first impression during check in, helping us get settled, and to Isaias who helped arrange a last minute scuba and snorkel tour in a nearby cenote. We were met with such kindness from the entire staff. I cannot recommend this place more and would love to come back soon!

Our first night the A/C was not working well, but the next day Carlos quickly resolved the issue. The pool upstairs was pretty disappointing (not sure if it was even open) and the pool bar didn’t appear to be staffed at all. Finally, during our stay the seaweed was pretty bad, which made it difficult to enjoy the beach. Although this is not within the control of the hotel, they did their best in removing as much of it as they could. Just mentioning it here for future customers to be aware of seaweed season in this part of Mexico.

I came all the way from Berlin, Germany to Tulum. La Zebra was a great choice but what really made it stand out was the health and wellness Pavillon overlooking the ocean. I had two exceptionally great classes (Yoga and HIIT) that really made all the difference. There are quite a few nice boutique hotels along the cost but none of them offers a workout experience with ocean view. I would recommend it any time!

La Zebra had a wonderfully exclusive high-end feel. The rooms were beautifully appointed with carefully considered furnishings and design queues. Enormous comfortable beds and views of the sea. Picture curtains gently blowing in the breeze as the sound of the waves rolls you into a deep sleep.

Beware of the mosquitos! Although the hotel do their very best to manage the situation by lighting coils, using scented vapour sprays in the communal areas and providing individual repellents in all the rooms. Some of the rooms with private pools were quite overlooked unfortunately, due to people walking right past to get to their rooms.

The hotel staff, location, quality of food, decor, and peaceful beach vibe are all exceptional! The beach staff and especially Marco bring strong skills to make sure you enjoy the day and are never without a cold drink or delicious food while chilling directly in front of beautiful blue water and sugar sand beach. The room air conditioner works very well and the housekeeping staff are discrete yet keep attention to detail to ensure you are comfortable in your room. The front desk staff are very capable and are ready to help with any question or issue that might arrive. Private hotel parking is available and is located directly across the street. Great place for a Tulum vacation for couples or families without the loud obnoxious party scene!

Wonderful staff. Lovely room. Beautiful beach. Even though there was seaweed the staff did their best to clear it. Juan Carlos was very helpful in arranging excursions with a lovely company. Also even though there is just one restaurant the food options and variety of evenings were great - it didn’t feel like food got boring.

The spa was average.
