Recently refurbished with a large bed and a large bathroom with a good shower. Clean, tea, coffee, and kettle provided. AC worked well. Good location being in walking distance to MRT, City Square Mall, and Berseh hawker centre. About half an hour by taxi from the airport so good if you are just staying a night or two and have an early flight.

The building dates back to the 1920s/30s and I had stayed some years ago. The refurbishment was clearly needed, but some of the character has been lost. Previously it had very sizable corner rooms--that appears not to be the case now.

Upon check-in, I was impressed by the room's cleanliness and modernity. Although the standard room is slightly small, it suited my needs since I didn't have luggage. The standout features include a larger-than-average smart TV with Netflix, not so common in boutique hotels– a key selling point. The room, including the bedsheets and pillows, was clean and new. While I personally prefer slightly firmer pillows, this is subjective. The thoughtful dressing table is convenient, especially for those with take-outs. The room's lighting and design, along with matching wallpaper, create a lovely ambiance. Surprisingly, the toilet is spacious, and I appreciate the design of the tiles complementing the rain shower. Ample power sockets are a practical touch. Checking in around 8+ pm was seamless, with a polite, friendly and concise front desk. The hotel corridor was undergoing renovations, but it didn't affect my stay. While expectations vary, I was more than satisfied with my stay at Kam Leng and would consider booking again for future staycations.

The only issue I encountered was with the bidet spray; despite attempting to adjust the main knob, no water came out. The sink faucet initially ran brown, possibly due to renovations, but running it for a while resolved the issue. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention this during check-out. The corner room offers privacy, but being next to a storeroom, there was some noises in the morning from movement. The ongoing renovations, as communicated by the management, did create some noise. Despite these minor issues, they didn't significantly impact my overall stay.

The newly renovated room is very nice and comfortable. My check in procedure is smooth and the staff is very friendly!

The bus stop and a convenience store is just on the other side of the street. According to the staff, the construction is already complete which is a nice timing for our stay. The hallway is airconditioned but kind of creepy; however, there's a relief when you get to your room - it's nice. Also, the cleaning staffs are doing a good job when you request for a clean up. For those who did not receive their deposits back, just don't lose the slip, we got ours during the check out process. Overall, it was nice and might consider rebooking during non-peak dates.

There's a water leak going inside after a nice shower, not much but please consider this for improvement. Also, it must be a strategic move but the price of the hotel significantly increased taking advantage of Taylor's concert. I'd recommend staying here during non-peak dates. Lastly, consider putting refrigerators. You have to drag yourself to the convenience store if you want cold drinks or just take the provided tap-water-temperature like bottled water/s.

The Hotel is over the road from a 7 Eleven and walking distance from Little India and a couple of subway stops on different lines. The air con keeps the room cool even when it's off during the day.

The room is incredibly small with barely enough room to walk around the bed to get to the bathroom. There is a small corner desk/shelf with no other storage. There are no hooks for your towels in the bathroom or on the back of the front door. There is a good deal of construction happening at the Hotel which we were notified about after we booked, and just prior to our arrival. We only requested the room be serviced once because the day they did, they removed our bar of soap and some other open mini toiletries didn't replace anything. There is a $50SGD deposit required on check in which we weren't aware of prior to arrival. Wasn't an issue but make sure you get cash out before you get there, we only did by chance. Check in is slow and laborious with the staff in no great hurry to do anything.

I like the shower, the bathroom is okay, except the window placement is a bit weird, if opened it's directly open to the main road. Room is okay, bed is okay, amenities can be better, maybe add more snacks and tea instead of only 2 sachets of Indocafe. When I was staying they are still renovating. I paid $120, and it was a bit below of my expectation

Location is excellent. The bus stop in front of he hotel has all the good buses that go to Orchard, Chinatown and the heartlands. Staff was warm and friendly. Room is clean and rustic.

The room we were allocated face the main road, so you can imagine the sounds, no soundproofing on the windows as well. No blinds or curtains, so the room gets very bright during the day.
