Absolutely stunning! Our stay at The Grand Hotel Toplice at Lake Bled was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking view of the lake, which set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The rooms were well-appointed, offering a perfect blend of spaciousness and comfort that made us feel right at home. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and welcoming, creating a relaxing haven where we felt truly pampered. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. Reception helped us with trips to Vintgar Gorge and even gave us a timetable for buses to/from Ljubljana as well as sorting out a minor problem with our airport taxi (a personal thank you to Thomaž, you were so helpful!). The restaurant staff were very attentive, we even had warm greetings from the housekeeping staff, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality. Dining at the hotel was a delight. The buffet breakfast was fresh, tasty, and wholesome, with a wonderful variety. The four course evening meals were exquisite, reflecting the high standards that permeate every aspect of the hotel. Each meal was a culinary treat that added to our overall enjoyment. The hotel's location on the lake shore is simply ideal. We loved waking up to the serene views and taking leisurely strolls along the water. The facilities were outstanding, with a luxurious spa, an inviting swimming pool, as well as having its own boat house, among other amenities. Each space was designed with elegance and comfort in mind, enhancing our stay at every turn.The decor and surroundings exuded luxury, creating an ambiance of sophisticated charm. In summary, The Grand Hotel Toplice is an absolute gem on Lake Bled, offering unparalleled views, exceptional service, and luxurious comfort. We were very well looked after and can't wait to return to this perfect lakeside retreat!

Good breakfast. All the food at the hotel was very good. Well prepared with quality ingredients. There is a half-board type dinner menu in the main restaurant which changes daily. There is also a gourmet type restaurant which looked great although we didn’t try it. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. It is difficult to fault this hotel and I confess to being extremely fussy and my husband is worse, except that the decor looks stuck in a time capsule. We were shown two rooms already renovated but not yet available to the public and they looked wonderful. The hotel is in the best location on the lake.

The hotel, which is classified as an historic building, is in need of renovation which it is going to get, starting in October this year. The outside looks poor in places. We had a room with a lake view which I’d recommend.

The staff were absolutely amazing from point of arrival through to point of departure. Special mention should go to the manager Dejan, the two other Dejans, Dimitar and Marion in front of house, who particularly provided us with such friendly and informative service - because of them we were able to see a lot more places of interest and beauty,. Also, not forgetting Nejice . They really all could not have done any more for us. We have the benefit of having stayed at many hotels around the world and this team are up there amongst the best for their service.

Really minor thing but would have preferred an overhead “rain shower” head rather than a handheld shower.

Gorgeous views, suite room was excellent in poor weather, beds were comfortable, spacious rooms and bathroom. The lake view balcony was absolutely worth the extra cost. Excellent cocktails, helpful staff. Location on the side of Lake Bled was perfect, incredible views of the Castle and Island at sunrise and sunset. I would book this hotel again.

Dated decor could do with refurbishment; a little tired in places. Struggled with dietary requirements but they did manage to sort something in the end. Pillows were very soft (there is a pillow menu but no firmer options); this may just be a personal preference though. Sofa very uncomfortable but didn’t really use it.

It has a classic old-world charm about it. The breakfast was exceptional, especially with a view over the lake. I didn’t have a lake view room, but I can imagine they’re stunning. The glass of sparkling wine on arrival was a nice touch. The spa was great, and well priced - guests get a discount when they book a treatment over a certain value. I spent most of my time at the lake pool which was relaxing. Get there early to secure a good spot. I liked being able to order drinks to my lounger, and they were very well priced for butler service. I was there on my birthday and they sent me a mini bottle of Slovenian sparkling wine which was nice.

While in some parts it might feel a little tired for some, that didn’t bother me - I think that’s part of the charm. I do think, though, given they’re marketing themselves as five star, that they could upgrade the toiletries. The toilet paper was cheap and think and I think a hotel with a spa, indoor thermal pool and a private lake lido can probably have separate shampoo and conditioner rather than an all in one.

Very good location with great facilities. We particularly enjoyed the lakeside "beach" where you could swim in the lake. This seemed to be the only hotel in the are with such a facility. View from the room with lakeside balcony was fantastic. The management provided a complementary bottle of fizz which was a nice touch for our honeymoon.

When we arrived the overflow parking opposite the hotel was not clearly signed, as a result we had to pay 20 euros at a public car park nearby. The concierge later indicated we should have parked infront of the hotel for their team to park, which they kindly did afterwards. Hotel parking is only free for stays of over 5 nights, and otherwise id 10 euros per day.

Staff were amazing - reception, housekeeping, restaurant, boat/deck, spa, all faultless, particular mention to our waiter Tenan - really attentive and discreet. Food was great particularly on the menu nights - we had half board option. We made great use of the rowing boats and enjoyed a wonderful massage at the spa. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and lots of space to relax in.

Wish we’d realised the thermal pool would be cold - disappointing as Phil couldn’t enjoy as he has a heart condition. Would like a pianist on the lounge piano occasionally instead of the notice telling us not to play it.

Amazing stay, we will remember it for a long time. We ended up upgrading to the lake view which I’m glad we did as it’s quite a busy road otherwise, and also the views are incredible. The staff were very professional and friendly. The breakfast had so many options, and was delicious. We enjoyed using the sunbeds next to the lake, and the option to swim in the lake too. You can use the hotels rowing boats for free to go to the island on the lake too

The facilities are due an upgrade soon as it is starting to look dated

If one is to stay in Lake Bled then this hotel is the only one to consider as it is very close to the water with nothing blocking the view. If we had stayed somewhere else we would not have had the same experience. The pool area is lovely and there are boats on the lake for rowing. The lake is perfect for swimming and is clean and quite beautiful. The views from the room are spectacular. There are excellent restaurants around the lake and the walk around the lake is lovely. Staying in this hotel to visit Lake Bled was the highlight of our trip.

Favorite hotel out of two weeks in Slovenia and Italy. Simply stunning swim deck right on the lake, with views of the castle, and drinks and snacks available. Free hour to take out a rowboat on the lake. Welcome champagne greeted us after they generously let us check in early. We also enjoyed amazing massages in the spa - loved the indoor pool (kept cold) and saunas too. Amazing four-course dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake. The best AC we had the whole trip. Every single staff member was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.

Yellowjackets swarmed my aperol spritz on the lakeside swim deck, and took over my croissant at the lovely breakfast.
