One Saturday myself and wife and baby came from a family trip and had loadshedding at home for 4 hours on a Saturday. we decided to go to City lodge for the first time and the service we recieved was so nice that. On the 13th January 2024 I told my wife it's hot let's go to City lodge Pinelands with our 1 year old daughter and wow the love my daughter got from the staff while having breakfast really made our family want to come there again as she was so loved by the kitchen staff and everybody. There is a good restaurant in the hotel, with plenty of choice on the menu for lunch and evening meals. Also the choices for breakfast, with options for continental or full English, were excellent. The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. I chose the hotel because it looked like it had secure parking for our cars, and it did. The entire site was very secure with security guards checking cars in and out. The rooms were clean, comfortable and overall the hotel is very well maintained.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We used the little fitness room for some movement and enjoyed an exceptional dinner in the hotel-restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and we truly felt at home. Everything was spotless clean.

We did have a little issue with our breakfast take-aways, as we were being picked up very very early in the morning. At check-in we filled out forms with our preferences concerning sandwiches and drinks. In the morning, one breakfast box was forgotten und neither box contained our preferences. If you pay for breakfast on the go we recommend you double check!

We did not do the hotel's breakfast. So no comment. The location is very good and it's easy by car to get to the V&A Waterfront, or the beach in Sea Point etc. The classy Cattle Baron on the same premises gives one a beautiful eating option. We loved our overall stay with excellent service and support from Reception to Staff, Housekeeping and even at the entrance boom.

The lack of DSTV sports channels in the room where one should be given the opportunity to relax and watch an important sporting event whilst on holiday. We were deprived of watching the Soccer World Cup Final and the cricket test between Australia and South Africa, in the comfort of our room. The quality of the TV reception can be improved. The location of the power points in the room can be reviewed with customer convenience in mind.

Having a restaurant within the hotel is super, as we did not want to travel for dining, and we were extremely happy with the food choices and quality. The breakfasts are fabulous. The pool area is also well laid out, nice pool and protected from the wind. The staff are so warm and friendly, and go out of their way to ensure you are happy. Due to complications with our flight back to Canada we needed a late checkout, and the staff helped us in this regard, even though the hotel was busy, and we did not need to change rooms. So appreciated!!!!

Having a shuttle to the airport and back would be great.

We had two interleading rooms which we'd asked for and were ideal for us. The beds were comfortable and the rooms nice and dark and quiet. Bathrooms were spotless. Easy to help yourself to a good variety of things for breakfast. The Cattle Baron restaurant is right next door to the hotel which made it very convenient, and we enjoyed a lovely steak supper there.

The invoice on checking out was confusing (it itemised several pluses and minuses which I didn't understand) but I think I paid the right amount in the end!

The staff was polite and friendly especially the gentleman at the reception area. Car parking was safe. And rooms are comfortable and cozy.

Firstly I the smell of food on the first floor passage I'm not sure what the chef was making but it smells terrible of fatty foods. And maybe should get rooms to allow to smoke in my husband had to walk to pool area to smoke.

Location was good for the purposes of my visit. Room was decently sized and had a comfortable work area. Restaurant food was great. Room was cleaned well with fresh towels daily.

Restaurant waiting staff service wasn't up to standard. Long waits. Had to get up from my table to call them for service.

Hotel is well located, not far from airport, Grandwest Casino and the CBD. Pinelands is a nice, quiet and safe neighbourhood. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spotless and cleaned daily.

Our stay was great. No complaints.

Location was great. Quiet place with beautiful scenery. Liked the clear view of table Mountain at the reception entrance. Staff warm and responsive. Nice comfortable rooms. Good food, liked having 2 options at the hotel grounds, meals at hotel vs meals at cattle baron. Didn't experience Load shedding at the hotel despite that occurring elsewhere, hence my work wasn't affected.

Minor issue: Not having bottled drinking water in rooms.
