Our room was huge. There was plenty of storage space. The bed was extremely comfortable and large. Plenty of charging space next to the bed and around the room. Our room had a huge balcony that looked onto the back of the property and had a wonderful view of the mountains. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample breakfast on either morning due to being up early. But Zeno very kindly got up early with us one morning and made us coffee and offered us some yoghurt. This was so kind and much appreciated. The hosts were so lovely, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I left a pair of trousers in the ironing room to iron on my return and the fantastic housekeeper had done this for me. Which was so lovely and kind. There was plenty of car parking and very easy to get in and out of the guest house. Beautiful property. Just a shame we were only there for 2 nights. If we are ever back in Hermanus we will definitely return.

Very friendly reception - a safe environment in Hermanus. Great breakfast and super welcoming hosts. Rooms are of good size and have comfortable beds. Great stunning cliffs are just 5 minutes footwalk away.

Only disadvantage is the situation to restaurants. It takes a 20 minutes walk to reach the downtown area, where a great selection of restaurants is situated. Part of the walk is at the water side, but a part also on the busy street.

Loved staying at the Whale on Main B&B, it felt like home away from home, no crowds, no noisy people and no queue's for breakfast one experiences when staying at a hotel. The hosts Zeno and Marlene are extremely hospitable and attentive to their guests from the moment you arrive explaining everything. Options of what you would like for breakfast is placed in the room that you can select from and at what time you would like breakfast, you drop off your selection at the front desk and in the morning the hosts already know what to prepare for you. The hosts are so attentive and well organized, you do not wait very long for your breakfast to arrive, they really run like a well oiled machine whilst making ones stay so comfortable and homely. The home is modern and the rooms and bathrooms are great in size, modern, clean and airy. The location is great and in close proximity to everything. I will certainly be comming back for more stays.

There is nothing I did not like, I loved everything that the Whale on Main had to offer and Zeno and Marlene are great hosts.

The entire experience from check-in to departure was done with great professionalism and attention to detail, the host makes you feel at home from when they come and welcome you to their guesthouse on arrival. The breakfast choices are great and the food is freshly prepared for you.

Marlene and her husband were so friendly and welcoming, helping us with our luggage and explaining everything about the room, the area and recommending places to eat. Marlene booked us onto a whale watching boat trip which was super helpful. The hotel is spotless and modern, the room was spacious and had everything we needed including a mini fridge. The whole place was stylish. We loved the honesty bar and the complimentary cape ruby port. Breakfast was made to order and beautifully cooked, with fruit, yoghurts and cereal. The location was handy by a main road and felt like a safe area. We wished we could have stayed longer and tried out the pool! Thank you for a brief but lovely stay!

The place was extremely clean and beautiful!! The owners were so kind and showed a great hospitality to take care of me. There were some magazines and the local newspaper, which I really enjoyed. The special treat drink was provided for free. No other place cared about those little things.

I wished the check-out time would be a little later than 10:00am.

Such a perfect location, walking distance from the heart of Hermanus. The cliff walk is across the street and you can get anywhere from there. Our hosts were so very helpful when we found out that we had accidentally double booked ourselves because of a connection glitch with the app. They were able to guide us in cancelling the duplicate reservation and followed up to be sure the entire refund came through. A fabulous breakfast too! You will love it here!

Our hosts were wonderful. Zeno and Marlene put us in the right direction for fantastic meals, walks and the whales…which were just in front of the accommodation seen from a fabulous coastal path. We smiled the entire time we visited and their advice saved us so much time looking for things to do and places to eat. Hermanus exceeded our expectations. Really a fabulous trip.

The guesthouse has two friendly and helpful hosts and is located within a very short drive of central town. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and a generous size. The wifi worked well.

TV picture was dark but this was a very minor issue which I am sure the hosts would have resolved if we had bothered to mention it.

Wonderful modern B&B! Room was exceptionally comfortable with kingsize bed, balcony and amazing view! Zeno made us feel home straight away, giving us lots of nice tips about Hermanus. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked every morning (I especially loved the mushrooms). You can do very nice walks along the coast and in the mountains close by. We even saw some brydes whales!
