Breakfast good but would prefer to wait to finish granola before cooked breakfast was delivered to table. Much of the cold breakfast buffet which looked very good was out in the open and not covered.

Decor beginning to look a little tired, sliding doors have been repaired and glazing looks old in general. Wrought iron tables and chairs need replacing. Because of the power outages the walk back in the evening after dark was attempted only once, thereafter taxi was taken each night

Superb room looking out onto the ocean with its own balcony. Couldn't have wished for a better view. Room was comfortable and clean, with all expected facilities plus a mini bar. Welcoming staff and easy check-in. Great location and plentiful parking. All round, a great experience and if I can get that room again, I will be back!

Small niggles; one window was jammed shut and one window that opened was tiny, so the room got very hot. A ceiling fan is provided, but it squeaks on every rotation - no way to sleep with that! So I was a bit too hot. But otherwise, a lovely room.

We stayed at Pelagus just after one of the worst storms in 10 years. Roads were blocked or washed away and we were not even sure that we could reach Hermanus. But we did, and what a beautifull place to take a breath and relax for a littlebit! Due to the storm there was no water for 2 days, but the management did everything in their power to make us comfortable. They gave us bottled water for free and did their very best to handle the situation. We had 2 very pretty rooms facing the pool and 1 at the front of the house with a view to die for! The view of the ocean, the beautifull decorated house, nice poolarea/garden and friendly management made our stay very pleasant, despite the problems the storm caused. So thank you, everybody at Pelagus!

Nothing really!

Once in a while you stumble across a charming lodge that makes you want to return to the town, just to stay at the same place. So it was with Pelagus Guest House. The whales from the front window were so completely unexpected. The house is right across the street from the ocean and the whale viewing is over the top. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and we all 6 felt so very safe. Breakfast was perfect as well. I have been to Hermanus many times and Pelagus is now my permanent favorite lodge when I am in Hermanus.

We were warned in advance that our room only had hand held showers, but it was not a problem. That was a minor issue compared to the fantastic stay we had.

This was a fabulous place to stay for a very economical price. My large room with a capacious bathroom was very comfortable and overlooked the ocean. Sitting on the balcony to watch the waves was a plus. The location was very close to the restaurant and shopping area of Hermanus, so I walked to dinner along the marine path. The breakfast was top notch in a large dining room. I would definitely stay here again.

No complaints whatsoever.

The breakfasts were great and the location was ideal as it was within easy walking distance of the main town. We booked 2 rooms and both were very spacious with all the amenities. One of the rooms was poolside and one was in the main building and both suited our needs perfectly.

Our room by the pool just didn't have much privacy so you had to always keep the blinds closed as people often walked past to get to the main part of the guest house, but aside from this, it really was great.

Loved retro-style and vibe of the place, like a time machine to the 80s) We were upgraded to a better room and we really appreciate it) lots of power sockets, very quiet place, several heaters in the room - we were in june and it was super comfortable. Nice breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff, plenty of parking space. Absolutely gorgeous common areas, photos attached. Super location

Actually nothing, great stay

The overall experience is always amazing. The host is always friendly and the guest house is situated at a central spot. The booking was made for friends and they really enjoyed it. So thank you very much for the service.

The only issue pertained the cold air seeping through the balcony door into the room. As it is winter and the weather is what it is, it would just be recommend that the doors are sealed properly.

Everything! Such a lovely guesthouse. The room was spacious and comfy and had everything one may need and more. Clean and tidy and nice, with proper ventilation but also can be sealed and shaded for privacy when needed. The bathroom we had was nice and spacious as well with a big bath separate to the shower and two sinks. The public areas are lovely! We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the nice lounge with the ocean view and the cute bar. Breakfast was superb.

There was nothing we didn't like. Absolutely prefect. Visitors should be aware that most or all rooms DO NOT have an ocean view.

The location of the guest house was just fantastic, you are walking distance from all the major restaurants and the ocean of course. The rooms had the all the main requirements to make it a comfortable stay. The breakfast was also a winning point for me, more than enough to eat and quick to prepare your custom breakfast.

It is not a major issue, but if there was a form of power generators when loadshedding occurs that would have been great, as most of the other guest houses around us had generators.
