Wegelook Featherplace in Oudtshoorn is truly one of a kind. The beautifully restored 1910 building, run by a charming couple, exudes warmth and character. We’ve never experienced such a personal and welcoming atmosphere—it felt like staying in a cozy living room. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home, creating an unforgettable experience. If you’re looking for a unique and heartfelt place to stay, we can recommend this gem wholeheartedly.

This was such an amazing place to stay! The building is incredible and Bernadette and Stan were fantastic hosts who really went the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay. One of us is vegan and Bernadette made sure we got a great breakfast. She also got our laundry done and booked restaurants and taxis. Absolutely loved our stay in this special building and would 100% recommend it. Bonus point for their sweet dog, James!

Absolutely beautiful accommodation. The place is just like a living museum in it's best sense. Everything is decorated so nicely, trying to keep the original spirit. Nonetheless, the bathrooms offer nowadays amenities like walk-in-shower's. The owner's are such lovely folks. With James, the dog, not to be forgotten to mention. The breakfast was simply delicious. Whished we have had the time to stay longer.

Nothing, really. The distance from the center of town may be a problem for some, especially if travelling without a car.

Welgeluk Feather palace is one of the most memorable stays we've ever had. It's a unique and exceptional experience with the highlights being the genuine and sincere hospitality of the proprietors, the astounding accomodation in a beautifully furnished and appointed Victorian mansion and its authentic farm-style location, just outside Oudtshoorn and near all the main attractions. The best way to sum up is to say that we longing to return, this time in the summer months to enjoy it even more.

A winter cold snap made it difficult to keep warm but the owners did their very best to ensure our complete comfort. What a fabulous couple!

Bernadette and Stan were wonderful hosts. They have lovingly remodelled their 1910 house to accommodate guests - but without losing any of the Edwardian charm and grandeur. Our room was fab and we enjoyed sitting on the porch after a full day exploring. Super breakfast and comfy beds. All in all a top property and highly recommended. We hope to stay again one day.

The staff was amazing - accommodating and extremely helpful. The owner and his wife were personally involved and interested in the guests. The location was great - so close to town. The food was amazing.

Both Apple and google maps unfortunately took me down a very difficult and poor road initially, so I thought that was the only path in. Once I discovered the 'proper' alternative road, it was fine.

A beautiful heritage home restored with love and care. Large and spacious rooms reflecting the elegance of the Ostrich Feather boom at the turn of the last century. A wonderfully large and luxurious bedroom and a bathroom with every modern amenity encased in old world charm. A charming and relaxing stay. The hosts Stan and Bernadette are generous and caring and available to answer any questions or just have a little chat.

And the breakfast - you can taste scrambled ostrich eggs if you are lucky - is extremely delicious. Don‘t look further. Book this place. You will not regret. Beautifully styled, great service, tasty breakfast and comfy rooms. Splendidly quiet and beautiful views. Owners were great hosts and James the dog brightened up our morning!

The only negative was the bathroom was very cold, but completely appreciate it is an old building so goes with the territory!
