After staying overnight at the Capital Menlyn Maine many times , this was the best by far ! The reception team are friendliest . The room booked was the self catering room and it exceeded expectations.

The doors have security access but the doors are slow to close automatically and not easy to close - so guests do not close the security doors and they remain opened. We stayed during a conference and a concert across the road . Everytime I entered or exited the First floor - the security doors were always open. There are NO security cameras therefore a security risk particularly when the hotel is at 100% occupancy with many visitors around the Square . This floor has direct access to the swimming pool and the restaurant upstairs. Any persons could enter the hotel into the passages of the bedrooms.

Very accommodating despite the early morning arrival. Found me a free room and let me switch when I found out the room had 2 connecting doors to adjacent rooms; spacious, well equipped, ample breakfast, very kind reception staff. The small mall next to it is convenient, especially the 2 supermarkets and the Kauai for good coffee.

Nothing comes to mind except perhaps the stream of messages by mail, text and WhatsApp about the upcoming stay and afterwards for a review.

The decor is on point. The location is perfect, close to everything we needed. The staff are super friendly.

It took about 1.5 hours to get toilet paper. 😩 I called front desk at 6am asking for toilet paper coz I had an upset tummy (tmi I know) and they said they would called housekeeping to bring the loo paper. well an hour later I was still waiting and I had to call again and the front desk was shocked the loo paper had not come yet coz they had told housekeeping. then I had to call a 3rd time after 30 mins and again front desk apologised but confirmed that they had informed housekeeping. anyway the housekeeping came about 20 mins after my 3rd phone call. that was the only sad thing. other than that, I love the hotel.

Staff are wonderful with particular mention: Produnce, Tracy, Sunny, Polly. All of them are beautiful. The best of the best.

I always have a good time at this hotel, but regarding the amenities, I have to make a few observations: In some rooms there is no smart TV. The air conditioners are set to turn off on time and sometimes it's hot and you don't sleep well. The Hotel Capital is a hotel that offers quality and prices are high. They need to improve on those aspects. I still prefer this hotel and therefore I urge them to improve.

The staff is professional and they were very very helpful. There was nothing we needed that we did not get. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean. The location is excellent and in close proximity to Menlyn Mall which has every shop you need. The restaurants surrounding it are also excellent.

This hotel is a bit vibrant and noisy, so if you need a quieter space, I would suggest you go somewhere else. It has a very youthful feel about it.

The room was very comfortable and immaculate. We had a lovely, pool-facing room that had all the creature comforts we needed. If you are going to a concert, this is an ideal place to stay! A 1-minute walk up the road. We felt very safe.

The breakfast was lovely, but the service was not on point as it could have been. Also, our stay included the breakfast but we weren't on the list when we went down in the morning.

The staff at reception were extremely friendly - and helpful! They assisted me with all requests immediately. The room was very comfortable, all facilities were great and very beautiful. Also really appreciated the free transport to the Maslow around the corner where I attended the Mrs Globe SA workshop the next morning.

The room was not small, but I needed a little more spacious room, with a bath in the bathroom. Also would have liked having breakfast included for the price I paid. Still a fantastic hotel, and I did enjoy my stay!

The Apartment gives you more space, breathing space after the busy day. Easy parking and good access to the lift - quickly up the lift. On my departure the porter was handy to take my stuff to my car. Thank you

The warm water setting is automated I understand that but it was still about 5 degrees not warm enough. When you run a bath the water started to cold and uses the temperature too quickly. I still think the room can be cleaner - there was still some hair samples around - I get that because the bathroom is quite dark light.

Breakfast was not included in the already high price

My stay was comfortable and load-shedding was mitigated with their on-site generator, which would have been a huge issue for me.

It would be great if the rate they billed per night was consistent throughout my stay and not fluctuating based on demand.
