Absolutely gorgeous position and views beneath the Simonsberg Mntn. We had room no 6 –upstairs on the corner - view from inside little lounge and mini side patio gorgeous. Amazing staff. So friendly and helpful. Delish breakfasts. Zorgvliet - just next door (drive or walk there) for dinner - lovely. Such a great base to explore both Stellies and Franshhoek. Would def stay again and have already recommended to many friends.

If they could do solar plus inverter and batteries for back up in loadshedding that would be amazing.

Second time staying here and it was lovely to be back. The views are the most stunning thing about Banhoek. They literally take your breath away. Stunning room and huge bed. Breakfast can be served on your balcony for no extra charge which is gorgeous. Staff are very helpful and attentive.

The toiletries provided are quite basic. We didn’t have any body wash for the shower, only 2 bottles of shampoo? No conditioner. On both times we’ve stayed, there has been some kind of mess up with payments. Both times, I have been messaged after check out asking for extra payment because of faults on their side. Not great when you’re trying to enjoy your holiday and having to make bank payments over non-secure wifis.

This is both an outstanding lodge with exemplary staff!! This one of our truly best stays in all of our travels!! The room with its view of the vineyards and mountains along with the bathroom with its rain shower and large tub was awesome!! The staff was without a doubt the finest ever - ever present when needed for directions, suggestions of places to eat/see and the breakfasts were divine!!

Not one thing!! Even with the rolling blackouts we were always notified the day before of the affected times and each room had battery back ups.

Good hotel and location for exploring the vineyards in stellenbosch and Franschhoek! The views from the rooms are really amazing, the breakfast is fresh and good! The shower and bathtub are excellent!

Unfortunately there’s no real possibility to hang the clothes, so you had to put the luggage on the floor, which would bother me if I would stay for longer than 2-3 days. A garbage bin would be nice as well! And a few people of the staff could be a little more welcoming and friendly!

We have stayed here before and simply love it! Most beautiful view in a very exclusive setting, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast on the balcony is the best way to start your day!

My only minor recommendation is to add more bottles of water complementary to the room, the ones that you give are very small and I think the price for this deserves some water :)

Banhoek lodge is a small but lovely lodge in an extremely beautiful setting. The outlook onto the mountains and vineyards was a real highlight. The breakfast was really good and the ladies who cooked our breakfast were especially nice and very hardworking! Our room was also massive and very comfortable. Pool area nice although sadly does not overlook the amazing view which would make it even better. reception staff very helpful in booking taxis and giving general advice. We had a lovely 3 night stay here!

Views all around the property are stunning. Large big bedrooms with floor to ceiling windows meant that we could truly appreciate the gorgeous landscape. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice.

There were frequent power cuts during our stay. We appreciate that this is unfortunately the case across the whole of SA. However given the price of this hotel we assumed that they would have put in measures to address this issue.

The location of the hotel is incredible- stunning views of the mountains and vineyards with a very restful, peaceful atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast served was delicious although it might have been nice to have a slightly larger selection of options such as some pastries. However it is a cozy hotel with only several rooms so I do understand not wanting to waste food by having a huge buffet for only a select number of guests. The cooked breakfast was excellent and the fruits and cold foods that were available from the buffet were lovely.

As mentioned above the included breakfast buffet was slightly limited in options but everything that was served was delicious.

Gorgeous views! Great hospitality. The breakfast selection was fantastic and the waitress was very friendly.

The blinds were broken and we had no privacy when we used the bathroom so we had to put the lights off when taking a bath. There was also a yellow stain in the carpet that seemed "fresh." The door lock also required maintenance.

Cute bed and breakfast. Has less than 10 rooms, so it’s perfect if you like to avoid crowds. The heated bed was a lifesaver as it was very cold and I really liked that there was a fireplace. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast menu was good and pretty extensive, and the menu doesn’t change so it’s okay if you’re not staying longer than a couple of days Receptionist was very friendly and proactive in providing recommendations

We were only given one small water bottle each for the whole stay, and we either had to keep asking for more water which would take a while to be sent to us or we would have to buy it from the in room bar. The service staff did wear shoes in and around the carpeted floors in the room, which made us not feel like going barefoot. But slippers were provided. Getting an Uber around isn’t easy because of the location, there isn’t a shuttle anywhere but the receptionist was able to provide contact to drivers they usually use
