I like the location since I like the the Euljiro Jongno area and love eating at the Gwangjang market. Right on Cheonggyecheon stream for some nice walks. Busy during the day but very quiet at night. Single staff member who runs the place but he explained everything to me when I got there. I only stayed one night since I'm moving around different neighbourhoods in Seoul. I took a small single room but the price is fair for what you get and great value. The room was small but it's what I expected and enough room for me and my luggage (but i travel light). Korean-style bathroom with the amenities you expect. Clean room, clean towels and clean sheets is all I need for my stay and that's what I got.

All the facilities that I need for as a solo traveler was prepared well. Location is right on one side of Kwangjang Market which easily leads you to several spots in Seoul. The host also being kind and helpful to help me carrying my luggage to the 5th floor as there is no lift in the building.

Because of the strategic area which is right beside cheongyecheon streams, there maybe vehicle noises or road construction that you are experiencing in the room. It is still manageable, however for a light sleeper you may want to prep earplugs such as myself.

This is the typical, small, and private Korean officetel style room, and a very clean one at that. The host was friendly, spoke English, and gave a very thorough explanation of the accommodation. The aircon worked well, the room and bathroom were more spacious than most officetels I've stayed in. Although I didn't need them, I was impressed there was a private washing machine, drying rack, fridge, TV, kitchen sink, stove, and dishes because that's more than you usually get in an officetel. The place is directly next to Dongdaemun shopping and street food stalls, so there is plenty to see and eat. I would happily stay again.

The only downside was what I already expected based on the reviews. As others have said, there is no elevator, so I came prepared with minimal luggage. I stayed on the 5th floor, and that is not the highest, so just be prepared. Additionally, the stairwell has quite low ceilings, so you must watch your head.

The room was as described on the site. I have spent 3 weeks here, had no issue with security or the room itself. Of course you need to take into account that this is a low budget hotel/hostel but I barely was in the room so it was perfect for my holiday life style. The room is old style with old and not high end furniture but I was able to sleep comfortably (the bed smelled okay, good linen and such were provided), store my food and drink in the fridge, take showers and even wash my clothes without leaving the room. The air conditioner was a bless on these hot summer days in the monsoon season humidity. There was a microwave to warm up food on every floor and also a scale to measure my luggage before getting a heart-attack on the airport. Please consider coming here to support the hard working owner who is friendly and helpful! He even helped with my heavy luggage a lot! You don't have to worry about the difficult trash sorting system, he does it for you. Not to mention the location is perfect for tourists, lot of things nearby to visit on foot or you can take two major subway lines too. It's a win.

The toilet seat was wobbly and I wish the bathroom was distributed a bit differently (hence why I think the toilet was more in a used condition than other parts) but it was completely manageable. The room I stayed in doesn't have much natural light (not a major downside, just consider when booking). I wish there was more space to hang clothes instead of the folding cupboard because I have more of those style of clothes, but hey, it's also not that big of a deal if your clothes are wrinkled on a holiday, right? :)

Location excellent. On the same block as Gwangjang Market which was an excellent place to buy lunch and dinners. Two metro lines within metres. Two outstanding bakeries on the same street. The room came with a fridge and kettle and access to the microwave right outside the door. Also had its own self contained air-conditioning.

The room is tiny, that was to be expected but the bathroom was even tinier and had a bit of mould. However the flyscreen is not completely connected so beware if you leave the windows open that a horde of mosquitoes enter.

Located nearly to some of the must-visit establishments and tourist spots, this modest accommodation served as my dwelling place in Seoul for a week. As a person who loves walking, location is one of my top considerations in choosing a place to stay, and Cheonggye Haus has it. Not only that it is walking distant to some of the major attractions, but also, strategically placed to some of the bus stops and subway stations should you need to commute. Cheonggye Haus has nothing fancy, so expect a humble space (quite a small space, but decent and enough, which I really like). In addition, it has the essentials you need to have a comfortable stay. The vibe of my room hits home to me. As you stay longer, you will realize this place is all you need in your Seoul trip.

Nothing, actually. Relatively, I experienced what I paid for. 👌

The host is incredibly friendly and accomodating and helped us carry the bags up the stairs. He was kind and responsive to anything we needed or asked. The bed was comfortable and there was a washing machine. Doors card secured so felt safe. Super close to Gwangjang markets, Cheungeokgung palace and an amazing little fried chicken place up past Eulji-ro 4 exit 4. Also close to Michelen Star noodle restaurant though you need a Korean phone number to enter.

Rooms pretty small so if you’re wanting heaps of space I probably don’t recommend. The shower situation was unique though most places I’ve seen have a similar combo in Seoul. Toilet space becomes wet room with shower head. Worked for me, just FYI if that’s something you wouldn’t be ok with. Stairs only too so difficult for those with mobility or heart issues but if you make it known the 2nd floor is manageable if you have mobility in your legs.

nice location and good stuff

A little bit cold in winter, especially when you just walk in at the room.

I always stay here when I come to Seoul and I totally recommend it! This time, my room was a little studio with all the facilities one could need: a/c, electric kettle, hairdryer, mini-fridge, coat stand for your clothes, ensuite bathroom, even a washing machine with washing detergent and a hot plate! The room also had a table with 2 chairs and there was enough space to put a suitcase and still move around comfortably. The location is great because it's near 2 subway stations, Cheonggye Stream and Gwangjang Market.

The bed mattress is REALLY hard.

Very helpful owner, location is very convenient, 2 min. to the subway, only several stations to the townhall. It was quiet, I got a room without a view and that was good without any noise from outside. The rooms are big enough and you can use the washing machine.

The shower is a bit funny. The microwaves in the corridors should be cleaned. Actually that should be done by the guests, but they didn't do it, so maybe it makes sence to clean them with special cleaning stuff and hang the notice with reminder to the guests - please clean after use... All in all it was a very good stay, if I am in Seoul again, I now the adress...
