The location was in the middle of the Gothic quarter everything was so convenient. I LOVED the electric bike rental right in the hotel, so convenient and reasonably priced 25 Euro/day. The beach is a 23 minute walk or 8 minute bike ride. The beach in Barcelona is outstanding, most people do NOT know that.

Very central location, close to main attractions - las rambla street is just on the door step. Near Bishop's bridge, Cathedral de Barcelona and only a 15 minute walk to the beach and aquarium. The hotel was very clean, and had a beautiful terrace outside our room. It has a small roof top pool but would be ideal for hot days. Fresh baked goods and coffe available all day. Convient supermarket across the street from the hotel. Highly recommend the hotel.

Not really an issue but the shower divider was too short and it resulted in the bathroom floor being wet everytime you showered.

The breakfast was beyond expectations. It wasn't huge, but what they had, was delicious. From tiny chorizo sausages to excellent cheeses and hams, plus eggs and bacon. And the spanish tortilla....you HAVE to taste it. Mylene and her colleagues in the kitchen were outstanding. The location could not have been better. Everything you need is within walking distance; Boutiques (I bought six different t-shirts from a shop around the corner), a supermarket just across the street, and very good restaurants (you must try Loto). Las Ramblas is a five minutes walk, and the beach 15-20. The service at the hotel is unsurpassed (a shout out to Iker, David, Christina and all the others in the reception, plus the maid we had). They are always in a good mood, always helpful and just incredible people. I know that it sounds like I'm on drugs, but I can assure you that I'm not. I have never stayed eight nights at a hotel before, and I was a tad skeptical before going - thinking it would be another generic tourist hotel - but I was simply overwhelmed with the bargain that we ended up with.

This is NOT the hotels fault: mosquitos. I slept with the balcony door open, and I once woke with itches all over my body. So either bring or buy remedies against them. The Wifi was ok. We could stream Netflix from our phones and tablets to the TV, but it wasn't as flawless as our home network. I suppose that would be too much to ask, but just be prepared for it. The gym could have had heavier weights and some more equipment, but we made do with the machine. The gym was never crowded, so for a short stay i guess it's ok.

Amazing location right in the middle of the old town. 5 minute walk to La Rambla and the metro station. Clean room with heaps of storage, good air con (a must in summer!), heaps of powerpoints. Staff were super friendly and spoke English. Allowed us to leave our luggage and felt very safe. Would stay here again easily!

The only minor drawback is that the bathroom did not have good ventilation, we had to leave the bathroom window open at all times to allow air flow which meant the bathroom was pretty hot in the height of summer. This is a minor point though!

This hotel is very centrally located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. It was a great base from which to explore the city. We had 2 rooms - one superior and the other standard (for our kids). Both were comfortable but the superior room is definitely nicer. The beds were super comfortable and it was very quiet at night despite it being so close to all the busy areas. It’s been a long time since I had such a good sleep! Breakfast was great and staff were very helpful.

If I had to pick anything the only thing to mention is that the pool is super small. It’s one of those vinyl pools you usually put above ground. It’s shallow and short. But good enough for a plunge to cool down.

The location was amazing right next to La Lambas, we found the food markets the like we have never seen. My husband loved eating the natural Orestes. I loved all the amazing fruit. We had breakfast in the hotel which was great coffee, tea, fresh juice, bacon eggs, croissants etc. Staff were so kind we would take our bottle of wine bought elsewhere and they were happy to open for us. Pool is small but in the heat who cares. Highly recommend.

Location is great, friendly staff, close enough to walk and explore the city, and beaches. room was very good, excellent café in foyer of the hotel, the coffee was good and an excellent price considering how inflated the prices in Barcelona have become over the past 10 years. the 2 girls working in the café during my stay were super friendly and helpful. pool on the roof was added bonus.

the reception staff when I booked in were super friendly and helpful, asked for a late checkout and was told to come down on the morning of my departure day to see if it was possible. did this and the lady asked what room I was in, and without even looking said it wasn't possible, they needed all the rooms? well there was one lady cleaning the rooms, so they could very easily asked her to do mine last and given me a couple of hours grace. Its the small things that separate a good hotel from a great hotel.

Great location. Centrally located. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was just right as I was traveling alone, however I can hear noise outside my door in the mornings which woke me up. I loved the breakfast as it was perhaps the best breakfast layout I've seen and I've been traveling a lot lately. Also, I really appreciated that the breakfast time to catch breakfast was great. There's a small gym which I only saw myself use but it was great to have the option to go down and workout before I started my day. There's also a nice little pool upstairs however I didn't use it as you can't really swim in that pool. But I went out on the terrace to hangout while my room was being cleaned, after I got back from the gym so I did use some time up there during my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

I didn't like being woken up in the morning by all the noise outside my door. I really wanted to book a hotel that I can actually swim and use the gym. The swimming pool you can't really do laps. The first couple times taking a shower I got the floors totally soaked as the mobile head was where the water was coming from and the glass wall is only half with no sliding glass to cover the other half.

I really like this hotel - Catalonia Avinyol! It is situated in the heart of Barcelona - in the Gothic Quarter. Everything is so close to the Hotel! We had so many time to look around (and we didn't have to waste time for the transport! :) We are very satisfied with Catalonia Avinyo and we have already advised it to our friends! While booking we asked for the quiet room - it was done! The room was warm and quiet. Thanks to all personnel - our staying was great! Next time for sure we will stay there too! Value for money is just excellent

I think some guests should know that at night it is forbidden to be loud. In general it was ok with it - but at one night some family was really very loud. I understand that it is a problem of certain people and it is just a lack of upbringing (and respect to people around) - it can occur in every hotel everywhere. BUT it did not spoil the impression of the hotel :))

The location of the hotel is very good. The Gothic quarter is a amazing place, we walked everywhere, even to the beaches. Rambla is too close. The hotel was very nice, staff is very helpful. Before we went to the hotel, we contacted and asked for help with prepayment. They helped us right away. They took delivery of a very important cargo for us. Our room was perfect. The bed was huge and comfortable. We loved Barcelona very much, we loved our hotel too. We want to go again and stay in the same hotel again.
