Lovely staff, delightful decor, excellent continental breakfast with many choices, tea, coffee and water available 24/7 in guest kitchenette, guest lounge/reading room/breakfast room for relaxing with a book or enjoying quiet conversation. Occitane bath products. An iron and ironing board were appreciated after 3 weeks of living out of a suitcase. Within easy reach of excellent restaurants, shopping and sites of interest but away from the crowds of the more touristy areas of the city.
I stuggled getting my suitcase up the stairs from the entry foyer to the elevator but it is clearly not possible to alter the elevator installation. There were no towel rails in my bathroom, only hooks, making it difficult for towels to dry. The sliding wooden doors to my balcony could do with some adjustment/lubricating as they were very stiff and difficult to open.

Everything was exceptional! We had a check-in after 5 pm, when the staff went home, but they made sure to keep in touch with me through Whatsapp and explained the whole process of how to get into the building, how to fetch my keys, and other important details. They were always available if I had any questions and their service was incredible. I was happy even before I got to the room! We chose the room with a balcony and it was so beautiful! The whole place is decorated in a vintage style and the effects are maintained everywhere. Our room had a wonderful terrace where we had our morning breakfast and coffee surrounded by greenery. The Nespresso machine was available at all hours and is a total godsend. The terrace looked out below onto the dining area of another restaurant. The space was almost majestic! Bathroom amenities were luxurious and provided in plenty. Lovely hosts, great atmosphere, and situated fantastically on p. de Gracia, a mere few meters from Casa Mila. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would love to re-visit. Highly recommended!
The bathroom sink smelled of waste when we opened the taps to rinse our hands/ freshen up. Bathroom trash cans could be bigger. More pegs in the bathroom to hang up clothes/ bathrobes.

Circa 1905 is an oasis of calm and comfort. Teodora, the hostess, is so kind and caring. She could not possibly be more helpful or accommodating, encouraging us to contact her anytime for anything. The building is beautiful and the location can't be beat, with easy walking to most attractions and close access to the metro. The rooms are large and having a small balcony on the street was a bonus. There is excellent sound-proofing and room-darkening and the beds, bedding, and pillows are all extremely comfortable so we had some of the best sleeps of our trip. Having excellent coffee and water (including sparkling water!), as well as a fridge, available 24/7 was much appreciated. The breakfast is not extensive but has more than enough to fortify you for a day of sightseeing. There are many great restaurants close by and Teo gave fantastic recommendations (including some not in the area).
It would have been nice to have a microwave to warm milk for coffee or reheat leftovers. But this is not a major factor and we would definitely stay here again if in Barcelona.

Location is perfect, everything is close and accessible even by foot, some places by bus. Bed is comfy, architecture of hotel is pretty, old-time style, obviously kept as much as possible, as it was originally built. Breakfast is continental style, really sufficient and tasty, nothing really fancy. Staff super friendly and helpful. Some ratings say, that it is noisy outside. The only time it was noisy, when the garbage truck came in the morning. night was quiet. May be, it is winter, that's why ;)
Floor of the room is nice old style tile flooring, but to walk barefoot on it is little chilly. Of course, it is not a bad thing for everybody and in summer time it is not an issue at all, I am sure. nothing much to complain about.

The breakfast was excellent. And, while there was a charge (80 euros), it was really lovely to have an extra child-size bed for our toddler. We had a terrace room, which was excellent for the morning breakfast, it was a bit noisy well into the evening (advise bringing earplugs). The staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating to us. It made our stay feel extra comfortable. For those traveling with children - just an fyi - there is a shower, no bathtub. The room was very dark once the terrace door was closed (so a nightlight may be helpful). There was a secure parking garage about two blocks away (we paid 60 euros for two full days). The location was very walkable to all the major sites we visited, and just far enough away from the extremely busy shopping area. We did not use the subway, but there were several stops nearby. For physical accessibility, be aware there is a stairway to access the very small elevator (I do not believe it would fit a standard sized wheelchair).
It wouldn’t have changed our minds, I don’t think, but I do wish we would have known how much the additional bed charge would be from the onset. It wasn’t an insignificant cost.

Everything at Circa 1905 was perfect! The location was fabulous and easy walking distance to everything we wanted to do and see. Our host was exceptional - while waiting for our room to be ready, he took time to provide a brief history of the area (beautiful, charming, elegant, quiet) and the property. The small boutique hotel has marvelous painted floors and is outfitted with furnishings appropriate to the period. Our room was spacious and had a balcony open to the street (the street the hotel is located on is quiet but is within a block of the most elegant main street filled with high end brand stores and the Gaudi properties). After returning to our room on our first evening, we had a small bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us, which we enjoyed on our balcony. Breakfast was set up in the sitting area and was lovely. They had small room open all day and evening, and the guests could help themselves to water, coffee, or tea, and make use of a small refrigerator. Barcelona is a wonderful city. We made the most of our three days and would happily go back to Barcelona. If we do, we will definitely stay at Circa 1905!
Really nothing! The water from the shower is incredibly "soft," which made my hair glorious, but we always felt like we still had a bit of soap remaining on our skin (drove my OCD husband nuts, but didn't bother me at all). There is a short hall where the bathroom is located that has a step down to the room. As I tend to have to use the facilities in the middle of the night, we had to remind ourselves of the step up to use the bathroom. It never posed a problem for us, but someone with mobility concerns should be aware. We were in room 3.

Loved the hotel. Absolutely beautiful very comfortable beds and lots of Spanish charm. Perfect location near lots of great shopping and food with access to main roads. On a quiet street best sleep I had traveling Spain.
Rooms although beautiful lack basics, hot kettle small fridge iron and a larger desk space or just table to put anything on. There was a tiny table in the front of the room. Barely enough to hold one tray. There was plenty of space in the room for much larger table and all these basic amenities that make traveling much easier.
