I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is convenient, with a metro station nearby, making it easy to get to all the main tourist attractions. If you prefer, you can also walk - everything is relatively close to the hotel. The building, entrance, and the room itself are works of art. Daily cleaning, very clean, comfortable bed and mattress, blackout curtains, and a large balcony. The breakfasts are delicious and generous. However, there are no vegetables at all. But the traditional potato pie, cheeses, jamón, and delicious pastries are in abundance. I read that many complained about thin walls and noise, but I can say we were lucky - our neighbors were quiet and pleasant.

The building itself feels like walking into some sort of time capsule. The room was just lovely and had a homely feel to it, the best bit being the little sunroom area. It was a great location, everything was pretty much within a 20-30 walk/public transport journey which is super handy especially in the warm weather. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept great. Having control over the air conditioning in the room was nice, too. I also liked how secure we were with codes needed to the main entrance and then again once upstairs to access where the rooms are and each room had one physical key that only unlocked that particular room.

The location was great within walking distance to the places I planned to go. I couldn’t have the breakfast, left too early every day - so missed meeting anyone else over a meal. Everyone was nice, and happy. The staff were excellent and helpful with everything! I was intrigued by the historical notes and the charm of the building. I was expecting the entrance but came to find it quite captivating with the bicycles inside and the guests coming and going.

Would have been better with some circulation in the room. The window was to a narrow cavity - no sun, no breeze. Might I suggest a sheet also in the bed, not just the comforter duvet?

we really enjoyed location- it was really close to Place de Catalunya and Main Street with all the good shops. Also close to La Rambla. There was few coffee and bakery shops near the Hostal. Great feature is availability of coffee machine 24/7 with a really good coffee/tea. Open kitchen is great when you travel with a little baby. Comfortable bed. Helpful stuff.

Because of all other rooms were booked we ended up with a small room with a window going on the backyard side. Window was small and it was impossible to tell if there is sun shining or not. artificial light was needed all the time during the day. In a bathroom few additional shelves are needed. it’s good to have a possibility to put your cosmetics on a shelf inside of the shower- not on the floor. same with sink area. Sink itself was too small for that.

The historical building itself and its location made our stay a perfect one and complete one. We loved the property entrance most specifically the old lift which allows you to experience the property's charm and character. The room is not too large however it's vintage vibes and amenities made it just as wonderful. We strongly recommend the hostal's breakfast which includes all that you would except in Barcelona (jamon, cheese, spanish omelete, pan con tomtate and croissants and pastries). The location of the property is very central and in close proximity of other attractions, both by walk as well as through use of buses and metro.

Perfect location! We could walk to pretty much anywhere we wanted, and if we couldn’t, Hostal Girona is located a five minute walk from a Metro station. The building is super cool, and we heard no noise at all from neighbours, or other guests. As two female travellers, we felt very safe in the area, even at night. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was refreshed each day by the cleaners, too. Breakfast was great- a good selection of breads/cheeses/pastries/yoghurt/fruit etc. We were happy to be able to revisit the breakfast room any time during the day to get more water/coffee.

Only one thing to note- a shower curtain/cover would be good! Our bedroom had a shower in the corner, and while it was nice not to have to share it with other guests, others may not be comfortable showering in front of friends/family!

Great location for everywhere I wanted to go - walking or easy close metro access. Liked the neighborhood. Good breakfast. Very nice lady at check in. Loved the historic building!! Was able to leave my luggage the last day to allow a day of sightseeing yet before I had to head out of the city.

Not all the staff was as friendly as some. Some were for sure. My shower door could have used some attention (rollers off) but it worked, and was great to have a shower in my room. I never found any toilets (I chose not to have one in my room) other than the two on my floor (one of which contained the shower) so one morning I needed one and had to wait. None of this would keep me from staying here again - loved the place!

Amazing breakfast, very home like feel. Room was tiny but very cosy. The whole hotel has lot of history and located in a lovely area of Barcelona.

It wasn't quiet inside our room, we could hear everything happening outside our door.. people arriving in the middle of the night etc. But aside from the noise we loved our stay and would come back again :)

Great location, architecture and friendly staff. Simple but tasty and plentiful breakfast. Clean spacious rooms.

Although there is warning about the lack of soundproofing and earplugs are provided (which i would recommend if you're a light sleeper) - the general noise is quite noticeable (plumbing, doors, lift etc). However some of it is down to the courtesy of other guests. We had someone having a full mobile conversation outside our room at 4am. We moved her on and this is not the hotel's fault but be aware you can hear a lot! However if you are prepared it is still a great hotel.

I'm was surprised that in Barcelona there is such a good hostel. Finally, I could get a good sleep. Everything was very clean and the place was quiet, in Barcelona it is very difficult to find a quiet place. Breakfast was excellent. I will come back again. Hostel Girona is my first choice to stay when I come back to Barcelona.

The mattresses, though, are not very comfortable. At least, in the room where I slept, beds were not good. They joined two singIe mattress to make it look like a double bed. If Hostel Girona staff update the mattresses, it is an excellent place.
