The location is excellent - right in the gothic quarter of Barcelona. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants/cafes around the city. If not wanting to walk too far, close to metro and train station. The room was clean and tidy. The shower was a generous size and the shower head made for good showers. The room was cleaned, bed made and towels changed everyday.

The following things I noticed, but were not personally bothered by them, but in case they are important to others, I list them here: There was a popular night club (Paradiso) next door. The noise from this was audible until late every night, and the doors/windows were not well insulated for noise. This could be a problem if you are a light sleeper. The apartment was on the second floor, which was a lot of stairs. Elderly or frail people might struggle with this.

Location, could walk to la rambla, close to metro trains and buses, quick to get to the beach. Nice food places within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and TV provided to watch the Euros. The cleaning service every day was good very kind workers who replaced towels and made beds. Also lady at reception was always happy to help and came to the room once when we had a problem with a power socket which she quickly fixed. Good check in and out.

Beware of the stairs, we were all able but not suitable for elderly or accessible users. Sometimes after a long day, even we were tired to walk up 5 flights. A bit rundown as door handle broken and toilet seat hinge kept moving but we could handle minor issues.

The property was very clean and the room was exceptional for a Hostal. And on top the room was cleaned every day. Also, to our surprise the Hostal room was more like a hotel room, air condition, TV, hair dryer etc.

Great room, it had everything like a hotel. My girls who stayed at the Hostal were impressed. Also, the Hostal staff were so kind, friendly and very helpful. Help with luggage even though it wasn’t necessary. The girls were going on and on how nice the staff was and that they had such a great experience and they told me they would oalways come back. Oh and of course the location was phenomenal in the heart of the Gothic district.

Location is excellent! very close to metro station, and bus stop! next to the hotel, there is a top 50 bar which is great for you to chill. There are several stores as well if you need to buy some drinks or groceries. City center is walking distance! I bought a three day pass for transportation, and I dont even use it that much since this hostel is close to anywhere! The staff is really helpful and friendly, bed is comfy enough, and it is really clean! Love the thick blanket provided here :)

Unfortunately, the soundproofing is pretty bad as I can hear people talking in the hall or other guest alarm, but honestly it does not bother me that much :) I also pretty unfortunate to get a room next to the water system as i can hear the system working all the time, but again it won't bother you that much :)

Location was amazing! The 'bin smell' people talk about is only on the ground floor by the entrance, by the time you get to the floor of the hostel, there's nothing like it. :) I had the balcony room and it was perfect for people watching before heading out for the evening. The curtains are SO good that I slept through into the afternoon one day, so if you don't intend a blackout, leave them a bit ajar ;)

No drawers, cupboards or hangers - didn't really bother me, but others might not like it.

Pleasantly surprised by our stay. We had the economic room double as I read the reviews that said any street facing rooms were very loud. And I can imagine they were as the hostel is on a very busy street - lots of neighbours have posters up asking people to be quiet! However, even though we didn’t get a street view, the eco room was lovely and quiet which is exactly what I needed. For the price and location the room was much better than what I expected. Good facilities. Lovely staff. Comfy enough beds and plenty of room for popping in and out. Complimentary coffee (but we had to travel down 4 flights of stairs to get it 😂) and clean enough. Very happy. It’s not a social hostal as there are flats inbetween so if that’s what you’re looking for this isn’t the one, but great if you’re budget sightseeing. Lots of public transport nearby and easy to find.

One flat pillow per side wasn’t great. I don’t mind a flatter sleep but my partner was very uncomfortable! If you have mobility issues, DO NOT BOOK!! There are three flights of stairs before you even reach the reception, and another three before you reach the room - no lift. Again, fine if you have no problem walking / with stairs.

Very good location, close to 3 big supermarkets, to the beach and metro staton. Very clean and big room, we had balcony, view to El Born neighbourhood and Estacio de França train station. Cleaning every day, you could have a coffee at the reception and the receptionists were very helpful and kind. They gave me a hairdryer when asked. The room had very good temperature. Good accomodation and we will definitely consider it again when coming back to Barcelona!

A wardrobe would have been very nice, because we stayed with our luggages on the floor, but it was ok in the end. Also, you need to climb stairs to the 5th floor because the building is an historical one and doesn't have an elevator, but we knew this.

private, clean room. very comfortable and most staff were very pleasant and helpful

the showers were a little strange because the entire bathroom got SOAKED every time we showered because there was no shower door to close. no instructions were given about how to get into the building at check in which was confusing and we were made to feel a little dumb by staff for not knowing how the door worked when there is a lock system that they have unlock for you from upstairs

Perfect location for exploring Barcelona. You are in the centre of everything. Amazing restaurants and bars right around the corner. Room was very clean and they clean it every day if needed.

A lot of stairs but that wasn't a problem for us because we didn't have a lot of luggage. It might be a problem for elderly people. Hostel is located on a quite busy street, there are restaurants and bars right next to the hostel. It wasn't a problem for us but it can get quite noisy during the night. However, we stayed there over the New Year so it wasn't surprising 😃

Location was great, super easy to get around with great transport links. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, especially the women who was working there, she made us feel at home. We were able to borrow an iron and extra towels.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the noise does travel. It didn't bother us too much and I did take ear plugs.
