Hotel was nice, clean and centrally located. Breakfast was really good with lots of options, make sure to check out the cooked breakfast you can order, as we missed this the first morning. staff were helpful and friendly too. Hotel bar was upstairs on the roof terrace, which was nice but be aware the drinks arent cheap here.

The pool was smaller than I imagined and there were no pool towels on 2 of the days we were there, which was annoying. Our in room refreshments wasnt replenished on 2 days either but the staff did send this up when requested. As we were so close to las ramblas, there is a bit of noise at night too but it didnt last too long.

This was a great hotel to stay in. Just off the busy La Rambla, this hotel is a quiet little oasis. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had all that we needed. We didn't try the breakfast as ate out at bakeries most mornings, and didn't check out the roof until the last day, which was lovely, we wished we had looked up there earlier!

Personally I prefer other locations in Barcelona like El Born or Gracia. In saying that it was easy to get to these areas walking or via public transport.

The location is perfect ,the swimming pool great especially with the opening hours and the hot scorching weather when we were there and also the housekeepers were amazing with ensure our room was cleaned up properly.Big shout out to the bartenders at the rooftop bar they are magnificent 😍,accommodating and passionate about what they do.

The lift needs to be repaired cause it was a bit slow and you could see a lot of the guests got agitated but was manageable 😃

The decor of this hotel is absolutely amazingly beautiful. I just could not help looking at all the wonderful details, the mosaics, the lighting and beautiful wall sculpting. The breakfast was excellent and the location just off the Ramblas could not be bettered.

The Espana is a venerable old place next to the opera house. One can feel a lot of history on its ground floor which has been left “old style.” The renovations up stairs seem to be working for the moment but one wonders how long they will hold up. There are various ways to eat here. The Michelin rated high end place with the tasting menu and paired wines is at the culinary summit. Staff people first rate.

It seemed far away from major attractions, making for ordeals of transportation. It would be perfect for the opera but the season hadn’t started yet.Barcelona is so sprawling that there could be no single hotel that made a visitor feel close to everything. Once we learned how to use the Metro the Liceu stop of the L3 became a great point from which to set off.

The hotel has an old world charm that I love. I was taking my family to Europe for the first time. I didn't want my grandchildren to experience a hotel that looked like any modern hotel in the US. This hotel was perfect, and I loved the location.

My family of seven were to embark on a 7 day cruise on July 24. Unfortunately, my luggage never arrived from the US. I had arranged for a private 5 hour tour that morning with a ship boarding at 3:00. The staff at the hotel kindly arranged to keep our bags while we toured and later call taxis to take us to the port. I was quite distracted since I had no luggage and had to leave the tour and return to the airport. Many days later, I noted that I had been charged correctly for 7 breakfasts, however, the total for the 3 rooms was about 10 percent higher than Booking.Com quoted. $701 was the estimated price including taxes. I was charged $779.

loved the decor, the breafast room, the terrace on the roof. very good breakfast. you get to choose your eggs, you have all the usual stuff +little sendwiches and different pastries. stuff were great, very pleasant and welcoming.

The hotel was historical elegant. The staff were superb & all concierge knowledgeable, perfectly accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was beautifully presented and everything tasted fresh, delicious & made to order. Rooftop lounge with tapas, beverages, desserts was a fun surprise. Rooms were quiet, well equipped & comfortable beds. Exceptional. Definately a 4 star experience without the price or pretense. Most Highly recommended.
