The rooms are very clean, and towels are changed frequently. The staff at the reception is friendly and welcoming. They allowed us to leave our luggage in a special room before our departure and helped with many little things. We stayed in both a room with a private bathroom and one with a shared bathroom. Surprisingly, we liked the shared bathroom more because it was very spacious. Once again, the cleanliness of the hostel is outstanding, and our group was really impressed. The location is also great, with plenty of affordable shops nearby, as well as vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't miss the delicious chicken empanadas and tuna at the nearby café. If I’m ever in Barcelona again, I’ll definitely stay here. The hostel is close to a metro station, and there’s a bus stop that takes you directly to the beach.

I got a great little room with a balcony. Even though room was small, when you open up the balcony doors it felt spacious. I come from South Africa and am not a very experienced traveller but I was really happy to have chosen this spot. Everything was really neat. Staff was super helpful with tips for sightseeing. Shared bathroom facilities also nice and modern and clean.

Unfortunately the walls are quite thin, so audio privacy is not great. Hope your neighbours are respectful with quiet times and bathroom etiquette - mine were for the most part at least.

The property was extremely safe, with locked doors and a key card to get in. It was in a great location just minutes away from main attractions. The room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable, and we had a patio to overlook the street. It was very convenient to have our own sink in the room too. The staff was very respectful and kind. Isabel at the front desk was extremely amazing, as I asked for a restaurant recommendation and she wrote a list of 16 favorite places around Barcelona! This was an amazing stay.

The only thing I didn’t like was that there wasn’t an AC in the room. The fan was helpful, but we were there when it was very hot!

Having a shared bathroom was my biggest concern before arrival, but it was spotless. Lovely showers and bathroom, and the whole place was well maintained. Really clean and wasn't an issue at all.

I felt it's quite a lot of money for the size of room I had but it this was the best deal I could find so don't feel I can criticise the hotel for this, Barcelona is clearly a city with very expensive accommodation. Additionally, the location of the hotel is great, was ~10-15 minute walk to Las Ramblas and the gothic quarter is just beyond that, so it's as good a price you'll get to be right on the doorstep of everything.

Pension Peiro shares the same reception with Hostal Apolo which is on the first floor and I received a warm welcome (speaking in spanish) from the lady behind the desk so a return to either accommodation is very likely. After checking in she showed me the way up to the floor above (a lift is available) and all the way to the bedroom passing by the shared bathroom facilities. The bedroom (shaped in a L) faced the street and had an enormous window which led onto a balcony. I was very impressed with the furniture in the room and it appeared correct as per the photos on booking.com. The bed was comfortable and there were layers of sheets/blankets. The shared bathrooms (there were two in the corridor I was in) were clean and good looking. I mainly chose Pension Peiro due to it being in between the Montjuic park area and Las Ramblas/Gothic Quarter/Port areas and I was pleased that all are only a 10-15 minute walk away! I highly recommend Pension Peiro for just a few nights. If staying longer I would choose Hostal Apolo one floor below.

In the shared bathrooms, in the corridor of the bedroom, there is a step up inside so this isn't very accessible for those persons with walking difficulties or simply stepping out of the shower onto a humid floor. Despite the solid window frames (PVC) one night there was a lot of thumping noise - music from a nightclub? - coming from another building outside or the ground floor/basement of the same building? In the communal entrance lobby of Pension Peiro there is a food preparation shelf but I did not like that there were no spoons and forks to stir and eat foods. Bring these with you.

The rooms are cheap (for Barcelona) and offer good vaue for money. The bed felt comfortable. The rooms and the shared areas were spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fast and reliable wifi. The location is excellent (close to the metro and local restaurants), walkable to the city centre and felt safe. It was was helpful to have access to kettles and a microwave.

My room was fairly basic and small, but it wasn't an issue and was understandable given the price.

reception 24h, English speaking personal , cleanliness, omg, it was so clean as we moved to a new apartment. the shower was white, even seams between the tiles are so white - like I a new apartment! better than in many hotels with bath incl.in the room. Cleaning of the room was also perfect 5 out of 5. Overall, delight. Next time in Barcelona - we’ll return )

wifi terrible) no Connection. noisy isolation - terrible, and the neighbours were disrespectful, They screamed, slammed the doors, and talked loudly all night. You could even hear someone vomiting, sorry for these details but you need to know )

Amazing location, staff and cleanliness. Very quiet even when facing the street on noisy days/nights! The room is comfy and the hotel has all the essentials to shower and cook comfortably. The shared bathrooms were very private, clean and comfortable - it felt like they're private, and just a few meters down the hall.

I like everything... it's a great hotel... Another good word for the staff - all were very kind and helpful! I lacked a couple of clothes hangers in the rook, but I could've asked for more and didn't...

The staff is friendly and very helpful, always ready to assist with my concerns. I had no problem with checking in and leaving very early in the morning (3am). The room is just fit for one and well maintained. The location is accessible by bus or nearby metro station (Para-lel).

Although there's a posted reminder everywhere, if other guests ignore it, the noise from the hallway can be heard from inside the room and can be quite disturbing while sleeping especially late at night.

I loved how it was a simple room where you can really unpack and make it your own ie) there was no unnecessary decorations etc. Lots of good space for your things too. They even gave me towels and made my room/ cleaned it every day?! I had a sink in my room which was actually great, and close by was a separate shower room with toilet and sink inside too. I did not expect much when booking the room and it was one of my fave accommodations for solo travelling. This would also be great if travelling with a friend. Great location and key card access. Very secure.
