Loved the hotel - beautiful styling, great facilities. Room gorgeous, clean and well presented, very comfy huge bed, spectacular view. Great to have a mini bar and coffee machine. Bathroom spotless, shower was powerful and hot.

There was a persistent thrumming noise, couldn't tell if it was coming from inside or outside the room. Very disturbing at night, almost like a loud vibrating sound. Switched off the aircon but it continued - possibly an AC unit from an adjoining room? Also, for a 4* hotel, the quality of the toilet paper is very poor! Thin and scratchy - please improve this!

This is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The staff were so professional and helpful. Lucia looked after us so well in the restaurant. She was so polite, kind and helpful. We really appreciated her professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and served generously. The choice of the decor is modern and the ambience delightful. Parking facilities are excellent and access is easy. The location of the hotel is superb as it is only a short walking distance to the city centre. We really look forward to another stay in this hotel.

Hotel Gran Bilbao is spacious and things function well. People at the reception are quick and helpful. Thanks also for upgrading me to a big room with a wide view to the hills and mountains surrounding Bilbao. Really appreciated <3 The bed was comfy and the room seemed pretty silent so I slept well. The air-con functioned well. I also loved the filtered water automat in the corridor, just behind my hotel room door (btw. water in Bilbao is tasty everywhere!) Breakfast is big and super nice. I stayed for 4 nights and ate so much every morning that I could easily stroll around the city until late in the afternoon. For the evening, there's also a restaurant and bar at the hotel but I had no time to try them this time. Next time, then!

The visual look of the bathroom could be uplifted a bit: the bathroom is neat and tidy but quite bland. Also, this hotel is located a bit further from the most central quartiers of Bilbao (but there's a bus stop just in front of the hotel - though I preferred walking up the hill to the hotel). But: if you plan to tour the Basque Country by car, this location is perfect for getting smoothly out of the city. I'll definitely book a room at Hotel Gran Bilbao for my next touring trip! But if you're staying only in Bilbao, you may want to find accommodation from a more central spot... but most of them seem quite pricey (unless it's truly off-season going on).

Very modern and spacious room. The espresso machine and the pods were an excellent touch for coffee addicts like us.

Wifi was very bad and the locación is about 20 min walk from the centre. The parking costs 17 eur per night

I was greeted by a very friendly smiling front desk person Ms Tatiana who brighten my day immediately on my arrival even when it was gloomy , cloudy and raining outside . I was earlier than standard Check in time yet she allotted room with a broad smile two hours before which was well appreciated. She also handed me a map of the city but also came out of her desk to show me the walking pathway to old town and advised bus no 77 to return ( if required) On reaching my room which was very spacious , neat and clean with all amenities a person would like to have while travelling I was greeted by a housekeeping staff MS Bubemi . Soon I approached her again as she was just outside my room to show me how to operate the coffee machine and she very efficiently taught me how to operate but also made a cup of coffee for me which was much much appreciated. there was clean water fountain outside the room and she also showed me different functions to get hot water and cold water to fill the coffee machine. I wish her all the best . She was very nice. The Bathroom was rather large and spacious with all modern facilities but the best part was very effective Air conditioning for a very good night sleep. Another thing which is worth mentioning here was a guest relations personnel approached us while we were having our breakfast next day to talk about tourist attractions of the city and she was a hotel staff and not a tourist guide /travel agent . This service was offered to guests on behalf of Hotel to promote the city without any strings attached . Bravo !!!

Everything was smooth .

We got a very nice and big room with a beautiful view, and the wallpaper had a grass motif, so we felt like ants in the grass. The breakfast was beyond expectations. The parking garage is a great benefit considering the lack of parking spaces in general in Bilbao. It is also commendable that the city bus line passes in the immediate vicinity.

A coffee machine is available to guests in the room, but we were unpleasantly surprised that only one coffee capsule is free, while the hotel charges EUR 1.50 for each additional capsule. We did not like that the reception kept calling us and asking for the exact time of arrival. You don't know that precisely when you're on vacation. The mobile application for pre check in does not work well. AC was not working well.

The cleanliness and comfort. The friendliness, helpfulness, and quick response of the staff. You had a question, it was answered immediately. If you needed anything extra for the room, it appeared in a blink of the eye. We liked that there was a safe in the room. As other guests have posted, it is a 10 minute walk to Casco Viejo, but it’s an easy walk downhill, and to the Axturi tram stop. If you want to rest your legs, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you into town. Additionally, we liked that the Gran Bilbao had refreshing cold tea available for guests in the lobby at no extra charge. A very thoughtful gift. And the breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. It deserves a Michelin star in my opinion! 👏🏼😊

There’s nothing we didn’t like and enjoy.

Loved that it was LGBTQ+ friendly. The breakfast buffet was unreal- the chef was clearly proud of his work, as he should be. One of the front desk staff (Luisa?) was absolutely lovely- genuinely friendly and with great food and walking suggestions. Extra bathroom in hallway, water dispensers, iced tea in the lobby, and coffee maker in rooms were great touches.

The parking ramp was wild- SO tight, and mirrors were only provided on the first level to guide you. Our room smelled really badly of smoke from (assumed) previous occupants.

Tatiana the receptionist was amazing! She accommodated all our needs and was the most caring person. Hotel is fantastic! All the staff is absolutely amazing! Brekafast chefs are just the most charming guys ever! And the biggest surprise was the life Pianist playing while they were serving brekafast on Sunday. Its all those small little extras which you will never find in other hotels. Selection of food at the breakfast is outstanding. All eggs and pancakes are prepared right in front of you and not those soggy disgusting things you will get at other places. I am impressed beyond and highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you so much for making our stay absolutely exquisite ✨️

I love everything

Stayed for one night ahead of a ferry journey. The attending staff gave a warm welcome and helped with parking validation/payment and provided great information for my onward journey and walking plans for the morning to exhaust my dog ahead of our trip. Arriving to my room was great as the room was extremely clean thanks to the cleaning lady, Lene, who I met the next day. Close enough to the old town and great point of exit for the port.

Neighboring borough Santutxu was not the most quaint area to walk through late at night, but acceptable. Given the time of the year it would have been great to have some cleaning materials for dogs as you enter the hotel as you are forbidden from using hotel towels.
