What a beautiful place to stay when visiting Cadiz. A stone’s throw from the train station, this is a haven of peacefulness. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful, showing us the best places to visit on the local map. Our room was large, the beds very comfortable and the shower was great. The room had a coffee maker, a safe and big wardrobes. Breakfast was a joy each morning. Freshly cooked eggs, mushrooms and bacon, bread rolls, pastries, fresh fruit and cold meats and cheeses, what a choice! The courtyard/cloisters were so peaceful, with lots of seating around the walls. So beautiful. There are lots of restaurants in the passageway adjacent to the hotel and the hotel is perfectly placed for the rest of Cadiz including the fabulous beaches.

The setting is excellent, the convent actually is an old convent with cloisters and old wells and suchlike and each evening the mass from the adjoining church spills over into the old cloisters. We had a choir practising close to our room one evening. The room was very big, very modern and with nice quality fittings. The location is great too, very close to the railway station and to a couple of streets loaded with bars and restaurants off the town hall square.

It was a bit difficult to access and we ended up dragging the suitcases a fair way but that was a minor inconvenience once we'd given up trusting Google maps, parked up and went looking for the hotel. The thing I really didn't like was the internet speed or, rather, lack of it. Sometimes there was no service at all and for doing anything that required any bandwidth it was pathetic.

The location could not be better since it is within easy walking distance from both the train station and the bus station. It is also ideally located for walking to all the points of interest in the town. You can even walk to some of the excellent beaches. The hotel itself is superb. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the ambience is very peaceful and calming. As soon as you enter the cloisters and hear the background church choral music you know that you are not in a typical hotel. Our room (204) was a good size and had all the amenities anyone could want. There was more than enough space in terms of drawers and wardrobes for all our gear. Unlike in some hotels these days the lighting was good. The bathroom was one of the best we've had while traveling: spacious with shelves for everything. The breakfast area is small so there are 3 sittings which you have to book for in advance. There is a wide selection of typical Mediterranean breakfast items on offer, hot and cold.

The only drawback was that the wifi in the room was weak and unreliable but that was not really a problem since as soon as you enter the public areas the signal is strong.

- the lady at the reception gave us excellent info about the city (with the discount to see the city tower), explained everything and was very nice and helpful through the whole stay -the whole afmosphere of the place is charming, calming and relaxing with some quiet backround music they play - amazing breakfast on the patio - also in a really nice calming mood and they offer lots of cookies and tasty things which i loved! - the staff was overall so kind

-there is a little bit of smell coming through (i guess) pipes but i dont think there is much they can do about it, i smelled it even in other places in the city

Hotel Boutique Convento Cadiz is surely an interesting place to stay. Formerly a convent for monks, the place has been transformed into a hotel. On the plus sides: - Rooms were fairly spacious with views (some rooms are overlooking the street/train station, others the street) - Location is perfect - it's steps away from the train station/parking for cars, but close enough to the city to enjoy a nice stroll (10 minutes from the cathedral) - Wifi worked well, but didn't reach to some rooms - Breakfast was available, but the prices seemed really high - we did not end up having breakfast there; we opted for churros in the city

- The first room we had was reeking of sewage smell from the drain pipes. We did address this with the check-in desk, and we received a replacement room - The shower in the bathroom is funky - not the best design!

Wonderful staff. Excellent location. Good sized room. Nice old building that has been nicely updated. Good breakfast. Parking and train station are both a short walk away. Very fair price for the accommodations.

We happened to stay on the coldest weekend of the winter. The room was a bit cool. The hallways were quite chilly. (It is a converted convent.) I expect in better weather these things would not have mattered. The wifi signal was not too strong in our room (2nd floor and far from the reception). That made it a bit challenging to work.

Unique stay in a converted convent with functioning church next to it. One of a kind! We were lucky and were present for the celebration of the Virgin of the Rosary being paraded through the streets - 169 years celebration. Amazing! The property was central for the old city, just a few minutes walk from the main squares etc. It had a calm and tranquil atmosphere that we both loved. Beds and bathroom are well equipped, rooms have a little coffee machine. Excellent!

The property seemed to have very strong air fresheners which caused my asthma/allergy suffering companion some issues. We aired the room out which did help a little but she continued to have a reaction.

Staying here was an exceptional experience. A few minutes walk from the railway station, and within the confines of the very walkable old city, we loved staying here. Arrived very late and tired but had a warm welcome. The continental breakfast was incredible. Next to a main road but you wouldn't notice when sat in the courtyard of the former monastery - which is stunning, as is the decor throughout. The very gentle playing of 'religious' music in the background in the courtyard over breakfast could have been awful but it wasn't, it was actually restful and contemplative. We were sad to leave

A bar or restaurant would've been welcome.

location was across the road from the train station but no noise. The hotel is a former convent attached to the church and within minutes of the old town. Cadiz is a small town and we appreciated the lovely Atlantic breeze after the heat of Seville. The hotel is beside everything. The staff were super and most helpful.

The rooms could have been bigger but that would obviously ruin the building. Big wide corridors. The courtyard is magnificient and overall very happy.

I really liked the beautiful surroundings of the convent, the lovely staff - always available and very responsive, and the size and cleanliness of the room. The hotel is very well situated near the train station, a short walk from the main town square and beach. Would definitely return in the future!

The only thing was a bit of noise from outside my window at night, might have been a rubbish truck or something, but it went away soon enough. Also had difficulty opening the window but this wasn’t really urgent for me, as I was out all day.
