We have spent a very relaxing week in the Club Hotel Cala Ratjada. We had a family appartment (104A and 104B) which consisted of 2 connected rooms. I liked that each of them had their own bathroom and they had a balcony. There was a small kitchen in one of the rooms. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was OK as well. The pools were nice, I liked that there were also pools with shallow water for smaller kids but also with deep water for good swimmers. We had the all inclusive option: the food was good, they served beer, wine and coctails as well. Water and sodas, icecream were available as well. There was a miniclub for kids, but we did not use it. In the evening there was a minidisco for children, some days there were also concerts for adults. The staff was helpful and kind, they could also speak English and German. The hotel is not far from the beach, maybe 8-10 minutes walking from Cala Agulla, 15-20 mins to beautiful Cala Gat. You can park your car on the street in front of the hotel, we never had issues finding a spot. Overall, it was a nice vacation and we enjoyed our stay in Club Hotel Cala Ratjada.

The beds were a bit soft, I prefer harder ones. But it was OK. The bathroom was a but smelly, but nothing serious that would bother us a lot. The wine in the restaurant was warm, but you could put ice cubes in it to cool it down. The opening hours of the bars/restaurants were not clear to us, but we managed to figure it out.

Very nice and good swimming pools, the room was really big enough, very clean and comfortable. The room was cleaned every day (excluding Tuesday), the towels were changed every each time I needed. The property generally clean and nice. Very close to the town, short distance to the lovely beach. Staff was really nice and friendly. It was not big food choice for the meals but was tasty and no one was hungry. We had really good time but honestly I think the price was not adequate for the food ( I mean snack bar) and no any entertainment during the day and evenings, just once was live music, once dj during our stay.

Let’s start with pros: great location if you’re staying in Cala Ratjada, close to the beaches and centre and bus station. Cala Ratjada is however quite far from the airport and there’s no direct airport bus. But if you’re taking a hotel transfer or a taxi that shouldn’t be a big problem. The swimming pool is quite nice. There are two actually - one 1.5m deep and the second almost 2.3m deep. Food is ok but nothing special. Drinks in all inclusive are very good except pre made cocktail (it’s better to take spirit mix, wine or beer). We were able to extend our stay till 4pm for €20 Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall I recommend this hotel if you’re on a budget. If you can pay extra €200-300 go somewhere else. We paid €500 all inclusive for 5 nights so I think it’s a great value for money but next time I would definitely consider something better. The bad reviews are too bad in my opinion. I wrote below things we didn’t like or need improvement but it’s nothing terrible or off putting.

First and foremost: there’s no safe locker in the rooms. You need to pay €3 per day to get a locker. This is ridiculous as something like a locker should be a standard nowadays. We had no wi-fi in our room (we were 3rd floor above reception). Food was ok but limited choices, food stations were a bit messy and the whole restaurant wasn’t the cleanest (they need more staff or more attention to details). Coffee wasn’t good. It was instant coffee, I can taste that instantly. So if you don’t mind it it’s ok but if you need a good quality coffee to enjoy then you need to drink somewhere else. Black tea was super weak, I live in the UK so I’m used to very strong tea. I had peppermint instead and it was good. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have olives every day at the salad station, also there was no ham and cheese options for lunch and dinner (not important but it would be nice to have it). You need to pay €1 for a cup at the bar, that’s fine but remember to take your cup every time you go there. NOTE: it’s a deposit and you can claim this money back at the end of your stay (at downstairs bar). There are no proper cups for coffee and tea at the bars which is ridiculous as I don’t like drinking hot drinks from a plastic. If I wanted a tea after lunch or dinner I had to take a cup from a dining room with me to a bar. FOOD: Breakfast- very basic, no omlet station and making bbq sausages in the morning isn’t a great idea, the smoke was everywhere and it wasn’t pleasant to sit outside. Lunch - again basic but ok. Hot drink machines don’t work at lunch and dinner time. Dinner - there were a few varieties but mostly the same every night. Ok but if you want to eat something delicious and authentic you need to eat outside. The food in this hotel is just to keep you filled so you’re not hungry. (We’re not fussy eaters so it was ok for us but if you’re a foodie and eating well is important part of your stay then you won’t find it in this hotel).

Some meals were great , some so so. Staff were friendly, other guests not so. Location was fab. Beds comfy. Didnt use pool much.

Didnt like that we were put next to groups of loud German lads.. dont think mixing families and elderly couples is a smart plan. Groups of young people would come back and have parties at pool 5 or 6 am ..shouting and totally inconsiderate. Security wasn´t up to much. One young lad on his own is no match for groups of drunken Germans.
