Fantastic. Xavi and his family are just among some of the top hosts, we have ever met. And we travel really a lot. Everything about Rocatel is just at the top level, the location is exactly in front of the beach, the room is spacious, with wide bathroom, and gorgeous view from the balcony, the railway station to reach Barcelona is meters away, the private parking keeps the car secure, the swimming pool gives you the privacy you eventually need, and Canet de Mar itself is a small gem on the coast. However, what makes everything really ideal is the level of care shown by the host. They are ready to really go the extra mile for their customers, costantly making sure that the experience is always as comfortable as possible. Top in everything. Thank you!

There have been 2 small issues, mainly caused by booking.com and by a bug in their system and yet Xavi solved everything perfectly, making sure that the issues wouldn't affect us and trying to solve them with class and care. When the 2 small issues appeared, I wondered why the host was so kind to everybody, despite encountering annoying issues. Well, when you meet his beautiful and kind wife and his gorgeous smiling daughter, you understand that no matter what happens, he will always have beauty to surround his life and to make him forget about anything that could go wrong. So, congratulations to Xavi and his family for turning any small issue in a way that rather add points to their capacity to welcome guests.

wow - agree with all the positive comments here - Xavi and his wife I must say are fabulous hosts - the room was so comfy and relaxing very well thought out, lovely for 1 person even though a double bed - I did ask for a blanket (no probs at all) to cover the mattress as it was little hard for me and it was a great nights sleep the 5 days I was there. Pool area is lovely despite the train but I was well aware of this coastal path and the train as I had resently bee up the coast - NO MUSIC BLARING - result!!! Lovely place for a relaxing break.

Only negatives and it does pain me to say is some steps out of the pool were very slippey - another eldey lady struggled to get out when I was there - and the location besides the intersection there is a bit of noise but I have a hearing problem where I hear too much so Id say most peeps would not even notice . Enjoy this palce its special

Location was excellent, room choice was excellent, balcony was excellent, view was excellent, price was excellent, staff was excellent, parking was great. Our sea side room had a nearly 180° unobstructed view of the beach and shoreline in both directions from the balcony, and a full view of the beach through the glass balcony from the bed. It was a short walk to the beach under the electric train tracks and to the town center for dinner. The staff was helpful and accommodated my request for an upper floor on the sea side ahead of time unlike most hotels on our vacation. Xavi was very helpful and fluent in English. The parking was gated and our car was visible from the balcony. There was an elevator. There was a pool and large dining area that looked great although we didn't experience either of them. The depth of the beach from the walking trail to the water was far enough to provide a quiet, relaxing sunbathing experience with enough distance from the street and buildings to comfortably layout and even walk topless.

I didn't like that we only stayed one night! I would have enjoyed this being a primary vacation destination for an entire week or two! The only minor imperfection, was a small commuter train that passed by down by the beach trail about every 15 minutes. But, since we were up on the 3rd floor, and it was electric, it was fairly quiet and was visible for 5 seconds and audible for less than 30. The beach was wonderful, although the sand was very coarse with shell fragments and requires some footwear for long walks, but great for exfoliating. And the shore dropped steeply with sand giving way small rocks that were challenging to walk on when wading.

I originally booked a small single room (with queen bed) but it was on the car-park side, so after one night I upgraded to a family room for a sea view. Both rooms were very comfortable and clean. The beds were firm (which I like). The family room had lots of floor space and it was lovely sitting on the balcony looking out to the sea. The pool was big and with plenty of loungers on all sides. All the staff were friendly, from the owner at the desk to the cleaning staff who cleaned the room every day.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful all the time, something that is highly appreciated when travelling with a 3-year-old child. The installations were clean, easy to reach to the city (10 min walking distance) and also the train station is really close. Not a five-star hotel, actually it seems like a family business but it has an extraordinary quality price, my son was really happy in the pool, the beach and a playground on the way to the city

The trains tracks are close to the hotel location but we knew that beforehand, it was ok to get a deep sleep after a full beach or pool day :)

The view over the large beach in front of the hotel is very pleasant. The actual water line is some 250 metres away and in the early morning or late evening it is particularly pleasant to sit watching the sea on the balcony (not all rooms have sea view). The hotel is run by a family, whose members working at the hotel are all friendly. What I also liked is that the hotel is located next to some residential buildings and in general there is a lot of "ordinary life" with locals walking their dogs or jogging or swimming in the early morning or in the evening. In other words, it is not a touristy area, even though the guests in the hotel of course are mainly tourists. Free parking.

There were no serious shortcomings in particular, but one should be aware that the hotel is a three-star one, with a corresponding level and for example the breakfast offer is OK, but not very varied.

Close to the beach and beach bars, with a lovely quiet pool area. Well kept throughout the family run hotel. Easy walk to the railway and the centre of Canet de Mar with some good bakeries, cafes, bar and restaurants. The manager was really helpful and friendly and seemed to be available at almost all hours. The whole team were very approachable. The 6 euro breakfast was excellent and replenished throughout the breakfast period. Bar prices were also very reasonable.We would definitely recommend staying here.

There's nothing we didn't like. Even the proximity of the train track wasn't a concern due to the soundproofing in the bedrooms.

The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Cleaning was done to a high standard. Free private parking. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection. I didn’t use the pool so I can’t comment but it looked perfectly clean. The beach is one minute walk away and was not busy at all.

The hotel has rooms which face the sea or which face the city behind. I wasn’t given a choice as to which room I could have. I was given a city view room without any kind of consultation. I would have highly appreciated the chance for a sea view room, the choice would have been nice but booking.com never offered the option which was rather disappointing.

It's a great escape from Barcelona, the village is quiet with some excellent restaurants and a lovely shady Rambla with tons of cafes, with a view to the beach. The beaches are grand...big, not too busy, a sense of security and clean water.So the village is a treasure, and the hotel too. Clean, friendly, great facilities..swimming pool, pool table, lounge bar, great terrace looking to the sea. The rooms are very comfortable though small. But you have a bonus balcony.

The rooms are small (individual) ...but that's ok since I was out all day. There's no restaurant, but one that is ok just down the street. And plenty in the village.

The room was impeccable: clean; updated; crisp white sheets and bed cover; lovely little balcony with a table and chairs; blackout shades; and very quiet. The rest of the hotel and common areas were also very clean and updated. The view of the sea from the dining area and bar is lovely. The salt water pool was clean and new and a nice alternative to the sea on wavy days. Good for kids, too. The beach is a short was from the hotel via a public walkway that passes under the train tracks. The water was clean and clear, and the beach wasn’t crowded at all. The owner and other employees were very friendly and welcoming. Nice bar to have a drink or a coffee.

Everything was great. There is nothing I didn’t like.
