I stayed 3 nights in Granada Old Town Hostel. This is not a hostel, this is a guest house! Everything is amazing there, beginning wirh the owner! Mersedes is soo kind, helpful, intelligent... what can I say more....?! The hostel I so clean, brighting everywhere. You feel like at home. There is a coffee in the kitchen, you can have in the morning in the balcony up. A lot of toilets and bathrooms, which is very comfortable and useful. This is the center of Cranada, everything is around. You can walk till very late and it's safely. Absolutely recommended for travels! The best hostel I have ever seen! Thank you very much for the kindless Mercedes!!!

There is nothing I didn't like!

Mercedes was the absolute gem of my stay. After my Alhambra visit fell through (be weary of Get Your Guide tours!), Mercedes offered suggestions to get last minute tickets. This could have been a real stain on my trip, but Mercedes took the time to point out all of the things not to miss in Granada other than the Alhambra, and my gratitude for the time she took to point all of it out is unparalleled. My time in Granada will shine as a highlight of my trip because of her recommendations. As for the hostel, I liked that it was quiet. My room mates were respectful as they came in later than two of us. It is centrally located and close to many beautiful sights. It feels safe and as a solo traveler, it’s something I appreciate. It was very clean as well. There are a couple quiet outdoor spaces to unwind as well which is nice when you are in a new city, in a shared space. Shout out to Luiz also who was patient with my limited broken Spanish.

The wifi doesn’t necessarily reach all areas of the hostel, which might be tricky if you are relying on wifi. This is sometimes difficult to remedy in old buildings made of concrete and stone, so I understand. The shower needs a little TLC, but for the quick showers I needed, it wasn’t a big deal.

The location of the hostel was perfect as well as the communication with the staff. Easy check -in and check -out. Comfortable beds, lockers, bathroom available just for the room where I stayed. Hairdryer available. Enough space in the room and between the beds. Air-conditioner in the room. Very cute and welcoming people work there.

There was no window in the room. The bathroom was not the cleanest, but it was fine. The staff didn't provide me with information if there is another bathroom/WC (they just told me about the kitchen on the 3rd floor).

Superb kitchen facilities, with separate dining area. Quiet location, not far from cathedral. Rooftop terrace, with a nice spiral staircase to access it.

Only niggly faults: The heating didn't come on till 9pm, so from 6.15 sundown till late the place felt cold. I couldn’t find a light switch at the bottom of the spiral staircase, which meant ascending and descending in the dark to and from the upstairs lounge area. The kitchen could use a stronger light bulb too, but no big problem. There was no individual bedside light, but an accessible switch for the room without getting out of bed.

My first night in Granada, I came down with some sort of food poisoning/stomach flu. Although I had a somewhat miserable night, the staff was very kind to me and helped me upgrade to a private room in the morning for a very reasonable price. Because I was not feeling well, I spent a lot of time inside this hostel! The bedrooms (both the dorm I stayed in and the private) were comfortable, clean, and pleasant. The bathrooms were all very clean and the kitchen had free tea and coffee. I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else during my travel food poisoning experience.

Really cool old building, very nice front desk lady, good hot water pressure, great location and price!

Beds aren't made on your first night, my bed was a little dirty but easy enough to brush off plus the "shelf" still had someone else's trash on it, one of the toilets is loose and can topple over if you're not careful, here like everywhere else in Granada failed to warn me about the major national holiday coming to ruin my trip.

The location is in a safe neighborhood, close to all the attractions, and on a quiet street. There are also supermarkets, all kind of restaurants near by. I was able to visit all downtown neighborhoods, famous casas, and even a hike in Monachil without wasting time on transportation during my few days stay. The hostel is specifically ideal for long-haul backpackers who need a place to take a break. Comfortable shower and clean kitchen; perfect home when away from home. Hostess, Mercedes, was a professional tour guide and who knows what traveler needs. She’ll give you a thorough orientation right at you check in.

For such a cheap hostel, Granada Old Town Hostel is remarkably comfortable. I shared a clean bedroom with three other ladies who were very kind and considerate. There is a vanity in the room that we all put our toiletries on, and there are small bed-side tables, too. There is a locker in the corridor for added security. The noise level was OK. The bathroom on the first floor is large and has a good shower. The lady who runs the place is very kind and helpful.

Separate showers, wash basins and toilets would have been handy. Also, the ladders on the bunk beds aren't great. I had a top bunk, and while the bed itself was absolutely fine, getting off it was a bit of a hassle.

Mercedes is a very good host. She always smiles when you meet her. I saw her listening to music, and dancing doing housekeeping work with her husband. A very good vibe hostel. Spotless clean hostel. There are few common areas, with different styles, I especially like the fireplace living area. Complete kitchen for us to cook, sugar is provided with tea bags. Highly recommended.

Mercedes was incredibly nice and let me do self-check in while providing all the details and being very helpful. The location is great, the room was big, kitchen well equipped and there is a nice rooftop terrace. The place is quiet. Mercedes is very kind and helpful person.

Twice I had to wait for a bathroom for quite a while and once there was no warm water when showering. There is an automatic light in the hall that keeps switching on and off even when noone is there. The light was entering the room through the window (the courtains are translucent), it was disturbing when trying to fall asleep. The door was hard to close, hence noisy.
