The hotel is located in the Bib-Rambla area of Granada with beautiful architecture and very close to sightseeing spots like Granada Cathedral, restaurants, cafés, bars and shopping. It's pretty ideally located as you're right in the middle of so much, yet it's not a "clubbing area" so it's still easy to fall asleep at night without getting disturbed by people partying. The hotel staff are very kind and friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable as was the bed and the bathroom was small but good. It's only about a ten minute walk away from the Albaicín area and depending on your speed and stamina, you could walk to the Alhambra in 20 minutes (there's a shortcut through a park at the side of a square which is easier to walk if you don't like to take the cobblestone steps via Carrera del Darro). I really enjoyed the hotel and found it very reasonably priced for the location. Would definitely return.

Beautiful traditionally decorated lobby/reception area. The hotel is in a quiet location and very easy walking distance to the main attractions In Granada

The room was very tired and in need of freshening up. The wall electric sockets were not working, mini bar was empty and the bathroom was a challenge. The toilet was so close to the wall you had to site on it sideways. The bath was too small it would have been better as just a shower cubicle and no need for the bidet as well…..too many things in such a tiny room. The bed room itself was large so would have been better to extend the bathroom to make it bigger and more modern.

Let me be honest, I always wanted to stay in this hotel after discovering that it was previous the house of the Rosales family and the location where Federico Garcia Lorca was in hiding before his arrest, but I was somewhat put off by the average reviews (3.9 here and 7.9 on Booking. I'm quite fussy when it comes to choosing the right hotel and so user reviews play a big part in me deciding where to stay). So when I came to Granada previously I chose to stay somewhere else. However, I returned to Granada this January and my curiosity got the better of me - plus the fact it is very reasonably priced (50-60 euros for a standard double room) - and so I finally booked here. I can't say I experienced any reason to negatively review the Hotel Reina Cristina. In fact, quite the opposite. The hotel was clean and in great condition (room cleaned daily). The employees were very friendly (special mention to Andalus who was great to chat to and welcoming in offering suggestions on food, etc). The location almost cannot be better. I didn't experience any soundproofing issues (it was pretty quiet for me the entire week I was there). There is plenty of wardrobe space for clothes and bags and the bed was comfortable. I'm glad the hotel retains some character of the house - the lobby is really cool with a fountain and a cabinet of Lorca-related memorabilia. In the future when I visit Granada I will come back to this hotel again and recommend it to others. Don't be put off on here as the rating isn't higher than 8+, I had a great stay here!

If I was to be critical of one or two minor things then perhaps I would say the cleaning product that the maid's use is quite strong and lingers for a long time but that didn't bother me much at all. Also in the shower it would be beneficial to have a holder to place soap.

The room has a luxury air about it. A comfy bed, but the bed base moved easily away from the light switch. Good desk and fittings, wardrobe. Nice bathroom, big shower with a seat. Good reception and staff. Fairly central to the Cathedral and Renaissance buildings, easy to walk to the Alhambra and Plaza Nueva. Plenty of places to eat. Fantastic fruit shop opposite and a fantastic pastry shop too. Supermarket within two minutes walk.

The room faced the street and Tablas is a little noisy at times. You will hear the shop shutters go up and down. There is a restaurant attached, but it is rather expensive, I ate elsewhere. There was just one kind of shower gel provided, no separate shampoo or soap. There is nowhere to put the shower gel in the shower (no shelf of any kind).

Good location for walking in any direction. Easy 33 bus stop from the main bus station. Friendly staff. They let us leave some winter clothes over several days when we went hiking which lightened our backpacks considerably. So kind.

No complaints really. A minor one was that the scrambled eggs weren’t always warm but the staff was willing to reheat them. Great fruit at breakfast.

I had a lovely comfortable single room with an inner courtyard view. The location was in an interesting part of town.

No air conditioning that I could find. The location was further away from the places I wanted to go eg Alhambra, flamenco in a cave and the main train and bus station so I did a lot of walking in the heat or took a taxi occasionally.

It was a nice hotel with a beatiful internal patio (very characteristic from south of Spain) and very centrally located.

The hotel is not very modern in terms of furniture and rooms, but the rooms do their job!

The location couldn’t have been better for a first trip. I was 5mins from the cathedral, had an amazing pananderia (bakery) just across the road, was a ten minute walk to main bus stops, 5mins ride to the bus station, and right on the doorstep of all the shops and restaurants. it is amazing value with a 24hr concierge, AC, plenty of towels and soundproof doors. The staff were beautiful. The decor was beautiful I think it was the nicest hotel I have stayed in so far. Will definitely stay again.

Location very good. Close to amenities & sightseeing places all within walking distance.

Parking. No directions or explanation as to where parking is located. On arrival at hotel was told parking was not close to hotel. Parking was 10min walk away & was a public underground car park. Hotel said parking was discounted but it's not.......36€ for 2 nights. This issue let the hotel down as the young female Receptionist was not very helpful.

Awesome location. Incredible setting . Renovation of Century old Spanish house into a very comfortable Hotel retaining its culture the best I have come across globally. Very clean great bed and linen warm and cosy. Only one hitch the shower and bath water lukewarm. And parking should be included in the price. Thank you Jose Luis and Alberto.
