The rooms are excellent, particularly the bathroom. Double basins, private toilet, and Gold Medal winner!: the shower. We had a balcony room; well worth the extra cost. The breakfast buffet is excellent. 1890 restaurant is very good for dinner. Both have large outdoor terraces, lovely in fine weather as it was when we stayed. The outdoor pool and lounging area is marvellous, and very well managed, with towels provided, and showers. The hotel is in the middle of a park, which gives it a great sense of calm and exclusivity. But all areas of Las Palmas are within easy reach by taxi or by foot.

Be careful in the pool! It is saltwater, which is lovely, but take care getting in and out, as the pool has dark, sharp edges, which can spring an unwelcome surprise. Also, dry your feet or put on flip flops to walk back to your recliner - the paving slabs are very slippery when wet.

A beautiful hotel, very sophisticated. Just as luxury as you could expect. All the staff were so nice and service minded. Especially the man and life guard at the pool!! he was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. The whole environment wonderful. we would love to come back.

The location is between Las Canteras beach and promenade and the old town Vegueta. So it’s not so much other things to do in the surrounding. But it is easy to take a taxi or the bus.

The building and the story of the hotel are really impressive. The whole personal was extremely kind and always ready to help. The breakfast was nice but when you stay longer you wish there to be something new or different from time to time.

Reading the comments we thought the hotel has a top location. For our needs that was not the case. You need a car if you want to go at all somewhere, because near to you there is basically only a few restaurants..2 of them in the hotel. Beside it was quite annoying that not everyone is able to go to rooftop swimming Pool even if you are ready to pay extra for one visit. This VIP Service (also on breakfast) was kind of annoying for us because it felt like we are a second class guests. To pay for five stars hotel & deluxe room and than to have to pay even more for some basics like access to a „special“ swimming pool or to warm pool and sauna is kind of strange for me. That’s why even after our good experience at the hotel, next time we will book another one. For us it was not worth it.

Out of this world!! They made me feel so welcome, secure and celebrated as a solo traveller. I was there for my birthday and they even gave me a special gift. This is a proper 5 star hotel, I even had the pleasure of joining an Indian wedding when I was there! Location is fantastic. Taxis are great and priced well and will take you to the Cathedral/beach. It is right on the grounds of a fabulous park also.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Historic building but yet feels very fresh and modern. Good location central but feels very calm. The pools salty water is amazing. Wellness circuit was really relaxing. Everyone was friendly. Honeymoon gift was very kind as well.

From a hotel this size and class i would not expect to see that the parking was an additional cost of 20€ per day. I was also a bit disappointed by the opening hours of the pool. There is almost no way you can take swim before breakfast. After breakfast swim would mean you can start your day earliest at noon. I also did not like the fact that the rooftop pool was reserved for the vip only. It looked like it is part of the experience on booking.com The comfort and the beauty of this experience should not be shadowed by these limiting.

check-in unpractical and not good explanation of services and structure if you tell somebody that you will take the luggage to the room this should happened before 1 hour and 1 call with the answer “you don’t worry is taken care”: I picked up the luggage myself which wasn’t a problem if not”…please let us take it to your room”. a bit to dark overall

I have been fortunate through the years to have stayed in some great hotels and would place Santa Catalina in my 'Top 3' , along with Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo and Claridges, London; a truly exceptional hotel. From the staff, to the building itself, to the room and facilities; faultless. I have to include a special mention for George, the lifeguard at the garden-level pool; great guy who never stopped working, looking after the every need of the guests; nothing was too much trouble. And also Rosanne and Adriano at the front desk; a fantastic front-of-house team and introduction to the hotel. I would rate the stay 11/10! Great week!!

I can't find any fault. In order to ensure high water quality, the pool is well-chlorinated so bring the goggles!

I booked superior deluxe facing towards old Town. perfect size room with a large private balcony facing away from sound. loved the bathroom and very comfortable bed. the main pool, gym and spa (€15) is relaxing and great size. staff is very friendly. the roof top evening bar is great and brings a trendy crowd. breakfast is excellent in beautiful setting. room service staff very friendly and professional.

when I booked it seemed like the roof pool could be used but it’s only for rooms graded above superior deluxe. I have stayed in many 5 stars around the world and never been excluded to a pool. surprised you can’t book a time slot at least like with the spa!! plus the superior delux room has a balcony facing the side I checked out the room graded above and I prefer superior delux with its private balcony. so being able to book a roof pool slot during my 10 days stay would have been much appreciated and enjoyed and I would have lunch and drinks at the pool bar. staff was very friendly but not great on recommending trendy bars and restaurants in Las Palmas. would have expected better Las Palmas knowledge by staff at a 5 star hotel.

Luxurious and very comfortable. Everything you expect from a 5-star hotel. The staff and hotel manager went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. It coincided with my son's birthday, and they provided cake and balloons, as I requested, and the hotel manager delivered a box of chocolates to our room as an additional present. The wi-fi was also excellent. The service at the pool was excellent as well.

The swimming pool was salt water, so the kids didn't enjoy it that as much, but still had fun.

It is a beautiful, opulent hotel. The staff are extremely attentive and polite. The room was gorgeous (standard double) - well planned, and lovely to have bath robes and slippers provided.

We were not allowed to use the roof top bar yet it is listed on booking.com as one of the facilities for everyone. The hotel is quite a long way from the centre of town, and also the old town. It was not explained to us when we arrived that the hotel guide was accessible only by using the QR codes (one on the bathroom mirror) so we felt a bit stranded when we first got to our room. There sounded like building works going on all through the night on Sunday, including reversing lorries! Timings: the staff did not tell us the correct time for the downstairs pool to be open; I wonder if it was lost through translation because of using the 24 hour clock, so 1800 hours means 6pm but on the phone I was told 8pm, as were other people. AND why do both the pools close so early?
