Very well located in Centro. The hotel is well appointed and has charm. Stunning shower and very comfortable beds. Beautiful bar. Hotel is quite despite being in the heart of bar land.

The rooms are strangely proportioned, including prized room space devoted to a stand alone bath that must hardly ever get use — and close space is limited and is located on the bathroom. The house keeping staff were attentive but never left enough water bottles, teas or drinking glasses — weird. We didn’t take the expensive breakfast option but did eat breakfast at the hotel on one morning — reasonable, but limited fare and it would have been dull to face that daily.

We loved absolutely everything. The hotel is beautiful and spotless. The staff gets an 11 on 10 for making you feel welcomed and many little special touches that remind you that you are not in an average luxury hotel. The hotel is also wonderfully located within walking distance to so many things. We absolutely loved everything about this hotel, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommend it.

Luxury hotel in a central location with a lot of history made our stay feel more special. Staff very welcoming. Room nicely decorated, spacious, bathroom amazing. Lobby was great to hang out in with added bonus of live music in the evening. Food in the hotel was of good quality.

During breakfast staff did few mistakes with our orders, not a big deal though.

A very good 5 star hotel. Facilities and rooms in the hotel were very good as were the excellent staff. The bar is lovely and the drinks excellent. Breakfast was very good with hot dishes cooked to order - although on one day they took forever to arrive.

Location is not great - very much up a side alley. We appreciate the literary connections but . . . Paying extra for a room with a view is basically pointless as there was no view to speak of - only of the hostel opposite. For such a lot of money - Euro 1500 for two nights - I did not appreciate being charged Euro 5 for coffee in the room. Although when I remarked on it it was immediately removed. That is a small matter but why was it there in the first place . . .

Great neighbourhood, excellent breakfast (although the choice is somewhat limited). clean and comfortable, helpful staff.

The price seems very expensive compared to what I expected. Perhaps those are the prices in Madrid but in all otehr capitals of the world I've been to (and I've been to quite a few...) you would get more for the same price.

Hotel - amazing! It's hard to believe this is the oldest hotel in Madrid. The renovations that were completed make the space feel modern but still pay tribute to the history. Rooms - amazing! Very clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. Location - amazing! Walking distance to many interesting neighborhoods, excellent restaurants and bars Staff - amazing! Incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. I would be remiss if I didn't specifically mention Alex at the bar. His cocktails are true works of art, and the conversations were even better. Thank you all for a truly wonderful stay. We have found a new home away from home when we travel to Madrid.

The breakfast was excellent with many choices of hot dishes and great fruit. The quality of the bedding was excellent and the bathroom was great as well.

So our room had fresh flowers, a welcome cake and cookies and then there was a charge of 3 euros for one cup of coffee or tea. For such a beautiful hotel with exceptional customer service this charge was really unbelievable.

The hotel really is superb from the location to the rooms, breakfast to health suite. The staff make it though - they are a credit to the property and we would certainly stay again.

The only one negative is the coffee and tea in the room is charged. When you are paying considerable money for a stay in a top hotel, at the very least the basic in room drinks should be included!!!
