The location of the hotel is excellent for our first trip to visit Santander and have recommended others to use this doing the same trip we did. The hotel were very gracious in holding onto our bags when we arrived early after our flight and called me to let us know when the room was ready for check-in and also gracious enough to hold onto our bags after check-out until our transfer back to the airport arrived allowing us baggage free time before going home, thank you

We were in room 419 and every morning the cleaning crews made quite a bit of noise getting their equipment out to start their duties

We liked the location of the hotel and the parking underground which was secure. The room was big enough for 3 people, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was well sized. The staff were very friendly at all points of contact and a credit to the hotel. As we had our own car we visit Palacio de la Maddalena which was about 15 minutes away, lovely large park area and historical palace. We also visited Santillana del Marl which was an old style laid out town, church and torture museum which is well worth visiting.

The food menu online did not reflect to the food being served/offered.

In the restaurant still not aware of coeliac disease . Member of staff didn't speak English had to get lady at main reception to help she was lovely called Carolina this booking was made in May not impressed at all they also put sausages and bacon together this is a very serious no no as sausages have wheat .Cross contamination and would make me very ill however all other staff were lovely and helpful

Absolutely everything was superb, but the staff were exceedingly professional and kind. I needed minor medical attention on arriving at the hotel and the Reception staff were so caring and attentive. I was on my own. I was given a Junior Suite for my one night stay with compliments of the hotel. The next morning, the Reception staff, although different to my arrival, enquired of my wellness and were again very attentive. They made sure my taxi arrived on time and checked my departure was in the correct taxi.

All was perfect.

My room was very clean and most importantly quiet. It had a nice view of the street out the front. There was plenty of hot water and lovely, big fluffy towels. The location was good. Not far from train and bus station but also close to bars, bakeries and shops. The cafeteria had a nice server, Carmen. The housemaid was pleasant. Staff at reception were helpful Lighting in room was very good. Plenty of space, good wardrobe.

The cafeteria was far too brightly lit so not conducive to a sit down meal so I didn't feel like eating here, it was like a hospital waiting room.. Low, ambient lightening would improve it and do we really need a TV screen when eating/drinking. Mini bar was sparse, no wine...in Spain!?!

The hotel location was quite central. The room was comfortable, though there was no view from the window (other than an air shaft). The bed was very pleasant to sleep in.

A pretty view out of the window. A mini fridge that actually kept things cool would have been nice (I complained that the mini fridge didn’t work, and they did try to fix it, but it never cooled/chilled the products I put in the fridge, such as water, oat milk, fruit, etc).

We really enjoyed our stay at the Silken Coliseum! We had a junior suite and the room was wonderful and really big, with lots of windows, a comfortable bed, and great amenities including slippers and robes. The A/C and wifi worked perfectly! The staff was helpful throughout our stay; we particularly appreciated that they stored our luggage for us after checkout, but before our 3 pm bus departure, so we could enjoy a last few hours around the city. Regarding location, I used to live in Santander in this area, which this is in the center of town. It is very convenient for restaurants and shopping, as well as close to the bus and train stations, but it is further from the beaches. If you're looking to explore, get a grey TUS bus card from one of the estancos (tobacco stores). Then from the Correos bus stop (a very short walk from the hotel), take the 1, 2, 4, 11, or 13 bus lines up to the beaches and the Magdalena peninsula. This way you can get all the benefits of this location but still enjoy the beach!

One other reviewer mentioned this and they're correct - the hair dryer in the bathroom has a button that you must hold the entire time you dry your hair (it's not an on/off switch). It was annoying, but in the grand scheme of things, a very small complaint

Great location. Quick and easy check-in. Room was very clean and a good size. Bathroom facilities were very good. Breakfast had a wide range of choice and was good quality.

They have their own car park but no reservation is possible and it's locked so there's no way of getting in unless you park somewhere else first before check in which makes it all a bit pointless. I parked in a public underground car park down the road

Location was excellent. Breakfast really good. Room lovely and dark. Most staff were super friendly and helpful. They offered to allow us to check in at 12.30pm as our room was ready. Lady at reception lent us an umbrella to dodge the rain. They looked after bags for us and called a taxi,

We really liked the property so no complaints but the Lady working at the bar could have been a little friendlier but perhaps she was having a few bad days. This did not take away from our experience as everyone else was super nice.

This hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, bars, shopping, sights. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and there was a good selection of food at breakfast, including gluten-free & non-dairy products being easily available for those that need them. The room was also very quiet.

Small thing really, but the shower was in the bath rather than a shower cubicle, which some people may find awkward.
