The property is conveniently located, making it easy to explore the area on foot. The room was clean and quiet, providing a comfortable stay. While there was some construction happening in the hotel, which limited access to certain areas, it didn’t significantly impact the experience. Santiago does experience frequent rain, so plan accordingly. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

I’m not giving this property a perfect score because of our experience with the waitress at the breakfast restaurant. She was rude, unhelpful, and uncooperative, which was disappointing. That said, the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing and provided excellent service.

We had walk the Ingles Camino so this was our treat. The location was perfect not too far from anywhere. The breakfast was amazing, the service there was superb. The porters were so helpful and friendly.

The front of house really let everyone down - no warm smiling faces rather looked like we were interrupting their work - such a pity I think more customer service training is definitely needed. Room could have been better lit but I guess it is a heritage site. The mastic in the shower was going mouldy and there were white paint splatters on the inside of the bathroom door - little things really

The history and shared areas of the hotel are spectacular. The breakfast is amazing. The location next to the Cathedral is great.

I was disappointed on this trip. Our room this year was small. Last year I stayed at the same rate and got a much nicer room. My big complaint is the main air conditioning wasn't turned on yet (mid-May). Our room was super hot. For $250 a night I expect to be comfortable. I called and asked for a fan and they never brought one. When I return to SdC on a future Camino I will be staying in a hotel that has air-conditioning.

A feeling of the ancient abounds: gorgeous solid wood, beautiful substantial metal hardware, centuries old stone, stunning architect, incredible location next to the Cathedral de Santiago de Compostela. All modern amenities (including a spacious bathroom with wonderful shower) yet carefully curated, dignified luxury respectful of its compelling history of providing for the traveler since the 16th century. Incredible breakfast, unforgettable, quite formal dinner (book in advance) with Galician delights in the most spectacular atmosphere of the unrivaled banquet room!

A bit noisy in the square but would re-book in a heartbeat!

Amazing location, beautiful setting on the square right beside the cathedral. It's a fabulous historical building that has been very well restored and maintained. Delicious breakfast.

Was generally very happy with nearly everything. The only minor drawback was that some of the waiting staff seemed under pressure, especially at breakfast. We ordered eggs one morning that never arrived. Another morning, there was a very long wait for anyone to serve us, and when we tried to get the attention of the waiting staff, they seemed impatient or disinterested (some, not all).We also ordered a dish in the hotel café that never arrived, and only when we questioned it were we informed they didn't have it that day. However, the porters, security staff and front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights during our recent visit to Santiago de Compostela. It's a luxurious 5 star hotel in a 500 years old building and our experience was great. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great ambience. The staff were friendly, helpful and responsive. It's location is very strategic, just beside Cathedral Santiago de Compostela and is walking distance to all main attractions. The breakfast is great and the restaurants and cafe are also wonderful. Highly recommended and value for money. Will definitely return here in our next visit.

Fantastic location and a special way to end our Camino. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We slept very well. The bathroom was lovely with beautiful robes, slippers etc to make our stay comfortable and our rest after the Camino a good one. Breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options, although the yogurt I picked up from the buffet was 5 days past its use by date! This was pointed out to a waiter but no apology given and no alternative provided.

Front desk staff were lovely, as were porters. Breakfast staff were polite but not warm, welcoming or particularly helpful as we'd experienced throughout much cheaper accommodation across our Camino. Go here for a treat, the location, comfort...but not necessarily for service.

The location was outstanding, sitting there on the square with the city's cathedral and the grand municipal offices. The room was welcoming although showing small signs of age. Breakfast was a vast choice and guests could have as many choices as the wished. But most of all it was the position in the very centre of things in this amazing city, which was much larger than we's expected.

Reception was efficient but could have been a little warmer towards customers, this being a five-star hotel. It would be a struggle to find anything else that we didn't like.

The property itself is an impressive piece of history. It has remained as true to its historical significance with the addition of luxurious amenities. I loved our bathroom space. It was an interesting experience to be staying at a space that has lived through many things.

For a property that is identified as a luxury accommodation, the level of customer service is not up to par especially compared to the properties surrounding them. They will need to work on creating a more warm welcome for their guests.
