Honestly? This place is magical! Words can not reflect how wonderful the stay with Indika and his wife was for us! It is paradise! Beautiful, my eyes could not get enough! From the beginning we were enchanted! Everything has been thought of! From cinnamon body lotion to being brought water to the pool without being asked! The interior is amazing and everything is very clean! It smells nice everywhere and do not forget to eat there, a dream! From our terrace we could see fireflies and the little puppy Simba is too cute! The place is also very good for excursions, even if you actually do not want to leave! A tuktuk is always ready and Indika even drives himself at really fair prices! All the staff is very friendly and helpful! Thank you for making our time there so indescribable! We have to give a special mention to Indika! Such a smart and insanely emphatic person! We are impressed and deeply grateful for his tips and help when my husband got high fever! I could write so much more, but see for yourself! You will not regret it! I have been to many places that I love, but with great certainty I can say that Ginganga Lodge is in 1st place far ahead of 2nd place! We stayed there for three nights and it was by far the best on our round trip: because of the great location, but especially because of the great people there! We will be back and then definitely for longer! Much Love!

That we have to leave!

We had the most incredible stay at Ginganga Lodge. The owner Indika has created a beautiful and sustainable paradise by the river. The three-course breakfast and the prawn curry for dinner were absolutely incredible. Although it's about 15-minutes away from Galle Fort, Indika kindly offered to drive us in his tuk tuk to and from the fort whenever we liked! The staff even arranged for us to take a morning river cruise where we saw monkeys, birds, lizards and even flying foxes! Indika and his staff demonstrated true Sri Lankan hospitality and we would not hesitate to come back next time we are in Sri Lanka!

I recently stayed at Ginganga Lodge in Galle, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in a serene setting that offers a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. The pool was a major highlight—immaculately clean and surrounded by lush greenery, it provided a perfect spot for relaxation. The service was top-notch, with Mr. Mahi being incredibly hospitable and attentive to every need. His warmth made the stay even more comfortable. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mr. Indika, who was equally kind and engaging. Our conversation was delightful, and his passion for the property shone through. What sets Ginganga Lodge apart is its architecture and attention to detail. The property is even more beautiful in person than in pictures. The antique items scattered throughout the lodge added a unique charm, complementing the exquisite design and architecture. Every corner of the property has been thoughtfully curated to create an atmosphere of elegance and tranquility. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend Ginganga Lodge for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful retreat in Galle.

Nothing glaring !

Amazing location and beautifully designed architecture with amazing sri lankan antiques. Such a peaceful ambience entrenched in the forest and overlooking the pool. The room was stunning and the staff were super attentive and nothing was too much trouble at all. Fab breakfast too. A memorable quality experience in the jungle which was like nothing we had experienced before . HIGHLY recommended for something unique if you are from Europe.

WiFi that worked .. in the end we bought a package in town which was really cheap. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room as there was masses of space behind the main bed in the rice paddy for this, which would have been appreciated whilst chilling at night . Aside from that we loved it.

The OASIS in the middle of a city From the moment we entered the driveway into Ginganga Lodge you could feel that this place oozed tranquility The owner Indika and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful the whole time The grounds on an old rubber plantation feels like you are in the jungle and backs onto a river and has an abundance of bird and other wildlife The pool area and restaurant was so peaceful and beautifully decorated in an eclectic style. Our room Heliconia was accessed by a wooden path and had a lovely verandah and outdoor bathroom where little birds and once monkeys watched from above A gorgeous super king 4 poster bed with netting, fan and air conditioning and more lovely furniture completed the room Tasty food, lovely cocktails and cold beer The added bonus of the lodge having its own tuk tuk and was available to take you anywhere for a small fee It was wonderful to be only 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the fort and then be able to return to the calmness of this resort We wished we could have spent more time here relaxing and enjoying the peace 6 star genuine hospitality and attention to detail Rooms were attended to each day and even a 2nd time in the evening and so discreetly This is the most perfect place to spend your last few days in Sri Lanka before heading to the airport before a late evening flight 100% recommend to stay here if you are in Galle or better still make this a destination to go, I’m missing it soo much

We stayed in Ginganga Lodge 7 nights and loved the place so much! We liked everything! What a beautiful property - lots of privacy, lush plants, animals and birds everywhere. Nicely decorated houses and rooms, very comfortable and safe. The food was so good - both the breakfast and we had the dinner also in Ginganga - the chefs are on the level and very good quality food! Also cocktails were very good! All the staff were so frendly and helpful but especially hosts - Dineshi and Indika - made our stay so special. Thank you so much for that!! They organized tuk-tuk or car when ever needed to the towns nearby or to the beach (15 min to beach), organized the day trip to Yala NAtional Park and Tea Plantation, all agreements were kept and they suggested the better soultions during our stay. We ordered the massage which was really nice. So we really felt like in paradise. We will definitely go back to Ginganga Lodge when we travel to Sri Lanka again.

Amazing quit place with friendly staff. The room was very pretty, clean and comfortable. We felt very welcome here. It was our last nights in Sri Lanka and was good to end it here. We did the small boat trip on the river beside the hotel, very fun. The swimming pool was clean and we saw some monkeys 😀 The bathroom was outside in the room so you feel like your in the jungle but it was very big and clean.

You have tot take a tuktuk for everything but the hotel can arrange it and drop/pick you up where you want.

Can’t praise this place enough. The owner, manager and staff were so kind and helpful. Aside from being excellent at their jobs, they’re just very good people. We had monkeys who caused a slight rain leak from the ceiling and they moved us to another amazing room and fixed that roof asap. So we were lucky enough to see two of their beautiful rooms! The hotel was stunning, i could live in the outdoor shower room we had. The decor, the space, the plush pillows and huge beds, it was just dreamy. Even better than in the pictures! We also had a massage there which was amazing. And the food was delicious. Thank you again to everyone there.

Everything about our four nights at Ginganga Lodge was exceptional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The setting is beautiful and the attention to detail impressive. The staff are attentive without being in any way intrusive and the food, and the cocktails, were all delicious. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite which was just amazing. We took advantage of the tuktuk service into Galle and were always picked up promptly when we requested a return. We stayed in some superb places on our three week trip but this was the best.

Absolutely nothing to dislike

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country – the landscape and wildlife, the food and its people. All of this can be experienced much better at Ginganga Lodge – an exceptionally magnificent place to relax and visit Galle or just enjoy Sri Lanka. Great interior design! We loved the pool, the local dishes and the smell of cinnamon!!! The hotel is managed with the utmost care and guests are treated with the utmost respect and hospitality. Even the WiFi works, although you feel like you're living in the middle of the jungle. Highly recommended!
