Just a step away from the Main Street and the fort ramparts, the location can not be beaten. It is a beautiful old villa that has been made very comfortable with also a very warm welcome from Sunitha and her team.Breakfast is as you order it and it was delicious. Some of the best fruit I had in Sri Lanka. The bed was really comfy and the AC worked well. Water pressure gave long hot showers. Everything you could want from a boutique stay was delivered here in spades. I would definitely visit again!

The wifi signal is a little weak. But then maybe the point is to disconnect from your phone and enjoy being in a truly lovely place.

Samitha the manager was very helpful and very informative about the fort and it's surrounds . Staff ,very attentive and hard working. Room was lovely and clean. In the heart of galle fort ,but very peaceful. Breakfast was amazing, especially the string hoppers,also fresh jucies, fruits,pancakes, eggs, tea,and coffee.Something different everyday. Set you up for the day. Beds comfy. Decor pretty.

This adorable and beautifully coloured location is the perfect location to stay if you want to spend time in Galle Fort. The quality for price value is great and it is beautifully decorated. The inner courtyard reminded us of a Dutch “herenhuis” in Amsterdam. The location in a side street makes it calm from the hustle and bustle yet close to everything. The staff is friendly and attentive and helpful with recommendations. Note: a lot of reviews mention bad WiFi. This is now fixed and was one of the strongest and most stable connections we had on the island.

The cons come with old locations in monumental areas. To experience an historic atmosphere you trade in well insulated rooms a hotel may have so if your neighbours come home later than you you hear them. In addition, an occasional cockroach and gecko came to visit. But after being in Sri Lanka for a while we learned how to tie the mosquito net so they didn’t bother us when we slept. The hotel is extremely clean and they do their best to keep it bug free. This problem cannot be avoided in old buildings in a tropical place. You will find them everywhere in Galle Fort so I still highly recommend this place.

We loved staying at the property. Although our booked room wasn’t available because of renovations, they kindly gave us a lovely better room with a great view over the sea. Breakfast was delicious and samitha did everything in her power to help us. Suggesting good places to eat, arranging the laundry as well as booking a tuktuk to get us to the station at an early time. We loved staying here and we cannot wait to come back.

The location of the property was exceptional, everything was clean and sooo comfortable, that if I’d get w chance I would definitely be back. The staff was also wonderful

Even if delicious, I think breakfast was a bit of a let down- maybe you’d consider giving a breakfast selection to people to choose from the night before, especially those with food intolerances would feel like they are not imposing as much

Fantastic location on a quiet lane within the fort. Walking distance to everything. My two children loved the upstairs beds. The staff were accommodating and breakfast was good. We especially liked/ preferred the Sri Lankan special breakfast we had!

For the cost per night, we felt the property could have a refresh and elevate itself. Mould in the bathroom and broken fixtures, lightbulbs not working, old towels and a sad looking fish pond in the courtyard. Overall fine, but the finer details lacking. The wifi was very weak in our room too.

Warm welcome from the staff (fresh fruit juice on arrival). The hotel is in a beautiful building on a peaceful street, and only 2 minutes walk from the sea walls. The room was lovely and there is plenty of outside space to relax in. Huge bed! Great fresh Sri Lankan breakfast, and varied each morning. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Galle.

Great location, lovely garden view room with outside seating area. Comfortable bed and pillows great wet room shower. Problem with a few ants in the bathroom which was speedily dealt with. Excellent breakfast served in the garden. Super friendly staff especially the lady overseeing the property. They accommodated our luggage until we left to catch the train. Will definitely be staying here if we ever visit Galle again.

Parawa House is in a central location in Galle Fort so really handy for walking round then returning to the room when it got too hot or humid. Meetha and her team were excellent, always smiling and helpful. The property is a lovely old traditional building that has been well converted so that the air can and fan were efficient and the bathroom was lovely with a good shower. We had a balcony and could sit and overlook the quiet street below which was very relaxing and good to feel part of the scene - a rabbit in the house opposite was peeping its nose out of the window. Super breakfasts, Meetha arranged a good taxi for our onward travel to Negombo.

Very comfortable accomodation in a beautiful restored house.Situated on a central,but quiet lane in the Fort. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained,with good beds and decent aircon.Nice sitting area outside.Personell is very friendly,everything can be arranged. Breakfast is also well provided. Would definitely come back here! Very recommended!
