Grand Serendib was truly a peaceful oasis - spectacular views over Kandy, excellent food, beautiful rooms, amazing pool and great service. While most hotels have felt a little like an episode of Faulty Towers, Grand Serendip was classy and seamless. Highly recommended.

We loved the views and the room, comfortable and modern. The staff were very friendly throughout our stay. This hotel is an excellent option if you’re looking to stay in Kandy!!

Considering it’s a 5-star hotel, we found it odd that anything outside instant coffee and tea at breakfast would have to be charged extra. It seems to be common practice at all hotels we stayed at though, so not a deal breaker at all.

Our room was gorgeous and had a great view over kandy. Roof top bar is very nice. Food was nice

Limited breakfast selection and the lunch/dinner menu are the same so options become quite limited if staying for a while. Pool is small and only 4 loungers available

Beautiful hotel with an excellent view overlooking Kandy. If you want to “splurge” a bit on your trip, this hotel is very nice & the staff is lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated & comfortable bed & shower. The balcony had an amazing view!

The dinner buffet didn’t have so many options for the price, I would have expected a bit more for a 5 star hotel. I did not like that while we were eating lunch, one of the waiters told me to hurry come outside for me to see a man right outside by the entrance of the hotel with an elephant covered in chains asking for tourists to take photos. The staff seemed amused by it, but to me It was very upsetting to see and I don’t think is a good look on the hotel at all to support that.

Where to start with, this is one of the greatest hotels we’ve ever stayed at worldwide and we travel a lot, the food at the hotel is delicious, the service is top-notch, we would like to thank the restaurant manager Sujith, the beautiful ladies Lumbini and Nishani, the handsome waiter Alwis and Buddimal at the reception. The house cleaning staff are wonderful, too bad we couldn’t get their names. The rooms are so beautiful, super clean, mattress and pillows are so comfy, the location is wonderful, great view and 25 min beautiful walk downhill to the lake and city centre, the hotel has tour service, if you are at this hotel, go out and shout: Danu, you will get the most wonderful and kind tour guide in Kandy, such a beautiful heart. This place is the place to be in Kandy. Thank you for great hospitality

We absolutely loved our stay! The views, the staff, the pool, and the food were all exceptional! The roof top bar/restaurant was lovely for a relaxed lunch during the day and the main restaurant was perfect for breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious, with a really nice balcony with beautiful views over Kandy and Kandy lake. The pool was amazing and definitely the highlight!

Loved everything about the hotel!! Just to note, some reviews said that the food was overpriced but in our opinion, it was slightly more expensive than our previous locations but not a significant difference.

The place looks superb! The bet is comfortable, full of amenities. The views are beautiful. The swimming pool, while small, it is perfect for relaxation.

Not a lot of space around the swimming pool. Problems with the hot water at shower. They fixed it upon my request, but it took a bit. The water in the swimming pool is not heated. The balcony was pretty much inaccessible. Rained in the morning, and everything was wet, there was no place to sit. I was very disappointed because of the lack of proper cover. This and the hot water problem (which I know it was fixed) are the main reasons why I am not comfortable with recognizing the hotel as 5 starts. Even for 4 stars, I don't expect those problems. And there were some more issues I have noticed. But, overall, considering the price and how it looks and it's amenities, it is an excellent hotel to spend the vacation in.

The hotel is impeccably clean and beautifully designed, with thoughtful attention to detail. Our room was incredibly comfortable and featured a charming balcony with stunning views overlooking Kandy. The serene ambiance and high level of comfort made our stay truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kandy—it’s a perfect choice for a relaxing and memorable stay!

The only downside was the rooftop restaurant. While it has a beautiful atmosphere, the menu could use more variety. We didn’t try the food as we chose to dine at a restaurant further down the road, so we can’t comment on the quality.

Stunning views (balcony, restaurant, rooftop), relatively central/easy to get around with a car, very clean, big room, complimentary toiletries in a sustainable manner (shower gel, shampoo, hand wash), good air conditioning. We wanted to stay an extra night, but originally, they had no rooms available. The next day, when we went to breakfast, they managed to sort something out, and we were able to stay another night — we appreciated their proactive approach. The breakfast is also good with a wide variety of local and foreign options at a high quality. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and obliging.

We were in Room 205 on level B2. There were some loud noises above us on the second night that woke us up in the early hours. There's also not enough space to hang three towels in the bathroom. The glass wall separating the shower and toilet isn't long enough, so the bathroom gets wet quickly with every shower. Also, we asked about the laundry service and were told that if we submitted the clothes within 45 minutes and chose the express service, it would be done on the same day. Despite doing this, the clothes were not returned by 7pm that evening and so we had no clean clothes until 7.30am the following morning.

Hotel only opened in 2023 so everything still looks fresh and new . It really is an excellent hotel in terms of location, view , room quality, breakfast and pool

I am being hyper critical here and this is only because of the price per night . I would highly recommend this hotel but there are a couple of things which are worthy of note which , if ironed out would take score from 8 to a 10 . Food menu is good quality but very westernised, perhaps I am in the minority but would prefer high end Sri Lankan food . Menu pricing needs updating , twice overcharged for wine as different menus show different pricing . A Tuk tuk driver outside the hotel could not understand the directions I gave him but the hotel staff did not help / would not allow him into the hotel to ask a question ( if this is the policy then have your own drivers?) Ambiance in bar at night could be improved by turning the music up and turning the cricket off TV which is constantly on
