Nice calm location right by the sea. Beach is long and clean. Chalet was compact and had nice porch. The host was very helpful and friendly. It was nice to eat breakfast out by the beach. Resort is far away from Tangalle, but if you’re looking quiet place to relax it’s perfect. There were a lot of cafes and restaurants along the beach.

No wifi in the room, only in the main area. Our chalet’s door was jammy and a little annoying to use. The floor woods were squicky and seen their best days and so had the bathtub. You had to walk a bit to find a suitable swimming spot, because the waves in front of the resort were quite huge.

I loved everything. A beautiful, quiet place. A wonderful tropical garden, where you can see a large variety of wildlife from the breakfast table. A beautiful, super clean chalet with all amenities. Kind andl helpful people who pampered us. Excellent Sri Lankan food. The grilled seer fish with buttered vegetables was as exceptional as the rice and curry. The staff are not only helpful, but knowledgeable, too. We have learned much about Sri Lankan cuisine and many other things. The manager has helped us plan and organize our onward trip, showing us new options. A home far away from home.I will certainly come back!

The staff were so nice to us. We arrived late in the evening and they waited for us and made us a fresh dinner late at night. Our stay was during a New Year's Eve celebration. Our host helped us massively with information about what shops may be open at that time. He also called to train station to check if any trains were operating during the holidays for us to leave. He helped us arrange TukTuk and let us check out later than it was scheduled. The internet was stable and reliable with decent speed outside the room, but inside the room was worse. The location was awesome. The private beach was almost empty and we appreciated the privacy. We had breakfast and dinner outside with a nice view of the sea.

Our room was older and a little bit dark, the plaster was falling off in some places and the shower curtain was a bit moldy. But the bathroom was nice, there was a glass ceiling so light came through it and it was nice, especially in the morning.

This is our first trip to Sri Lanka, and the first few days in Colombo were so tiring for us. But finally, we arrived at The Waves Beach Chalets, and it was our paradise, we could see birds and monkeys from our terrace. It was amazing. The host and his boys were super helpful, kind, and honest. He cares and helps us with everything. I felt so warm and touched. The service is beyond our expectations. The place is so clean and feel like we have our own beach which we can walk and see turtle next door. There are a few restaurants where we can walk from the property to have lunch or dinner. For breakfast will be served at a nice place where we can see the beach, it was super nice. Or if you would like to go somewhere else, the host also can help to arrange tuk-tuk with a reasonable price. We highly recommend this place in case you would like to come to Tangalle. The place is perfect.

Nothing to complain about the place

The accommodation is incredibly beautiful. It is located on Marakollya Beach, almost at the end of Tangalle, promising pure nature and beautiful solitary walks on an absolute dream beach. The beds were comfortable, there was a superb mosquito net, and even a cozy bedside lamp. While showering, you could see the trees and the sky through the large glass roof, making it feel like pure luxury. However, if you're looking for parties and hustle, this might not be the right place. For me, it was just perfect, and I would come back anytime, cherishing every moment. The hosts are nice, and there was even a welcome mango juice. They also cook for you, and nearby, there are a few selected beach restaurants that are really tasty.

The light on the terrace could be cozier. (A different light bulb would already make a difference.)

Amazing place if you don't like tourist heards. You don't feel anyone, you have this wild beach and we where lucky enough to witness a seaturtle mama laying eggs. However, we really want to stress that we did it only using red light and standing from at least 5m distance, so this is not entertainment but precious moment we where able to be parts of. But if you want to have a bit of a night life, only 10-15 min tuk or car ride from the hotel is this nice town of Tangalle and it had all the kinds of food and cool vibes places available.

This was the best vacation we had ever had. It was our second time to Sri Lanka and it was perfect! We spent three weeks in the most beautiful, quiet place with perfect ocean view. I can recommend this place to everyone who want to spend the best time on the island. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to the entire staff for their incredible attentiveness, assistance, and support, as well as for the incredibly delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts.

Access to a serene beach, nice food and hospitality. The rooms are big and comfortable beds. Recommended for nice, comfortable and relaxing stay.

More sockets to charge electronics would have been great. Also a name board along the small streets to find the property can save time since it is little difficult to spot the property.

Probably the best beach holiday we had. Beach proximity & privacy, room size and facilities, food were all splendid. This wonderful experience wouldn't have been possible without Saliya(Caretaker) and Mahesh(his deputy). They are always available to sort out your needs, suggest where to go in your spare time and wow, they cook excellent food.

not much at dll. it’s gorgeous !!! however for others it’s to be noted that they do not have a restaurant or a bar they csn make fab food on request. - for us it did not matter. however it won’t suit families or those wanting a buzzy bar atmosphere
