The property in general is quite worn and they are clearly updating it. Hence not giving a 10. Our rooms (superior doubles I think) were, however, a definite 10. The shower was pristine and we had lovely Mountain Views. This was a great place to stay for two nights before boarding the Bernina Express. It was good to have the Chur discount card that the hotel provided. This gave us 50% off the cable car ride which the two of us in the group who don't hate heights really enjoyed. You go by cable car, mini cable car and a little tractor/train to a restaurant at the nursery ski slopes.

There is a small flight of stairs before you can access the lift. Guests with a disability would need to be aware of this.

the hotel's location was central and close to train station which was important for us because we were going to catch Bernina Express early in the morning. Room was clean and very big. I wasn't expecting that big room. The staff was very nice, special thanks to Brazilian lady on the reception. :) she was always smiling and friendly. Just a quick tip, some of the rooms doesn't have private bathroom. I didn't realize that while making a reservation. Thanks to the staff they remind me before the day we arrive Chur and easily changed our room to with a private bathroom one.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. We were catching the Bernina Express the following morning so location to the train station was perfect. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The view from our roof was amazing, we stayed in the superior room which was lovely, clean and modern. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel!

My only very small tiny detail was that there wasn't enough pillows but we asked for extra and the lady we spoke to on reception got them up to our room straight away.

Although this is a basic hotel and the decor is worn, they keep it very clean and it was comfortable. The location was good, close to train station. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choices.

The lady when I checked in at 21.55 was a bit huffy about it, even though their advertised check in is up to 22.00. Although the shared shower room was perfectly clean and adequate the shower head doesn't stay up so you weren't able to stand under it. Maybe this is to stop people staying too long under the shower - who knows? But you think if you have just one shower per floor you would maintain it!

The room, 51 (4th floor) was one of the refurbished rooms. Work is still going on so the corridor outside the room did not look very attractive (plastic over carpet). The shower was excellent. The hand basin was in the bedroom but was fitted in a unit with plenty of storage space for sponge bags etc. A fridge was provided but no facilities to make a hot drink. The staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and liked the hotel location in the old town. It was quiet and only a short walk to the rail station.

Having to climb stairs to the first floor reception. The initial impression with a tired looking carpet on the stairs wasn’t very good.

We liked the close proximity to the railway station and town centre. It was walking distance and easy to find. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. we had an early start so had breakfast ( extra charge) which was plentiful with a good range of choices.

Although there was a kettle in the room there was no tea or coffee. Beds were a bit hard for us but that's personal preference. No bar at the hotel and we arrived late so didn't want to have to leave to seek out anywhere for a quick night cap. Room was also very hot with no a/c or fan.

The hotel is conveniently located in the old part of town and itself is in a renovated old building showing a few traces of the original wooden beams. While a bit cramped for space, the bedroom was of adequate size for a couple for one night, as was the bathroom.

The reception was on the first floor, up a couple of flights of stairs from street level. There was an elevator from that area to access the upper floors, but it was extremely small (holding just one person plus a suitcase). The room was opposite a church steeple where bells chimed at regular intervals. However, with the window closed, this noise was not obvious.

The hotel was situated in the town centre, restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful! Just to note if you plan to visit Switzerland, you'll need the correct plug adaptor!

Whilst this is not the staffs fault, the pillows in the room were certainly not to my liking. They are so soft that folding the 2 pillows I had to stack them didn't even do the trick. I had quite an uncomfortable nights sleep because of this. The bed itself was nice. So my advice would be to bring your own pillow.

The location was great, I liked the style of the building, and that it had a shower, sink and fridge within the room. The service from staff was excellent - very friendly and helpful.

I didn’t like that the toilets were not signposted on the layout maps within the room, or in corridors, so I had to go back to reception to ask where they were. I was disappointed there were no hot drink making facilities within the room. I understand it’s usual in some places but I also didn’t like the two small duvets on the bed instead of one large one. It would also have been more comfortable to have had one large sheet over the twin mattresses to keep them together as they kept separating during the night.

Everything was very good. We think the renovations of our room were nicely done. We had the church bells ringing, which we didn't mind, and they ceased at a very reasonable 9pm. You do have to carry bags to the first floor reception. However, they are more than happy to assist with this. You just need to let them know. We were earlier than we expected to be. The staff checked to see if our room was ready, and it was, so we were in our room, unpacked and off to explore Chur. Marcel and staff are terrific.
