Hotel is convenient to historic area of city and a short walk from train. Breakfast was as expected and setting pleasant. Room had a nice view and was clean. Beds comfortable. Room included a small table and there were enough outlets for guests to use, particularly at each bed.

Staff pleasant but not particularly welcoming or helpful. Hotel had several signs and posts warning guests of possible infractions, particularly for breakfast. I.e., don’t take any food out of breakfast area; anything not eaten will be an extra charge. We asked for a hot pot for room since there was no coffee machine in room. Request was granted but we were not allowed to have china coffee cups —- instead we were given 2 paper cups to last us 4 days!

Receptionist was helpful, knowing more about the City's cable car non-availability than the Tourist Information guide knew, which saved us a frustrating hour. Everything worked, the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The shower was excellent. Could have done with a fridge in the room

Chur centre is almost dead at night. 7 out of 10 restaurants are shut at night, nine out of ten on a Sunday night. May be more lively near the station. Note the Brambruesch cable car stops running on 16 March for the season and not sure when it opens for the summer. If stuck for a day in Chur take the bus to Lenzerheide and try the cable cars on either side.

Our stay was A+ perfect! This hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and in the heart of Chur’s old city. The hotel was perfectly quiet and comfortable. Just about all of city’s sights are a few minutes’ walk. The neighborhood was super-quiet, safe, and secure. The room was the perfect size for us, well-designed, decorated, furnished, and absolutely immaculate! The breakfast (included) was fantastic and included muesli, fresh breads, and fruit, as well as hot dishes. As frequent travelers, we always appreciate attention to details, and this hotel clearly knows travelers’ needs. Thank you!!!

The hotel is very clean, centrally located and very comfortable. We were very impressed by the excellent breakfast served in the hotel - fresh and delicious - and with the level of customer service from the staff. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked it as many other properties in my search were booked out, and I can’t really understand why this wasn’t at the time of my booking. It’s definitely a place I would stay at again.

Not dissimilar to many/most Swiss hotels, the room was small and rather basic. Compared to many other hotels we stayed at in this trip, that was possibly the most basic of them all. I wish there were better amenities in the bathroom, like shampoo, conditioner and wash gel (instead there was only one do-it-all option), a larger shower box (it was quite small), and that our room, located in a quiet part of the hotel (good thing), could be more easily reached without the several flights of stairs, up and down, which was not very easy for us with heavy bags.

Nice hotel in the heart of the Chur old town. A short walk from the train station. Breakfast was very good.n The staff were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to store luggage after checking out, which was very useful. It may be an odd thing to focus on, but the shower was exceptional in the room, far better than what you typically find when on holiday.

The free wifi was not very good from the room. While the signal strength to the router was very strong, the internet speed made the wifi basically unusable from the room. From other parts of the hotel, such as the lobby or the breakfast room, the internet was perfectly fine so probably just an internal network issue with the routers. Not a significant impact.

One of the greatest facilities I stayed in my entire trip of 17 days in Italy and Switzerland! Hotel Ambiente literally checked all the boxes with incredible breakfast comprising of continental and full breakfast with eggs, Sausages, Bacon, and the list goes on! They exceeded my expectations with wonderful walking shower and noodle shower very large and flawless! The staff is friendly and very welcoming. The atmosphere was very quiet peaceful, ambient where I could relax and enjoy. Just about 13 minutes from the station, closer to the historical St Mary’s basilica and St Martin’s Church of historical repute (AD 750). There is a Thai restaurant closer by (two blocks), the food was excellent (very tasty).. I will definitely consider Hotel Ambiente in the future.

Full breakfast with all options! Who serves bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausages in Switzerland? Bathroom and noodle shower was the highlight of this trip. Best shower ever! Closer to the historical sites. Closer to the best Thai restaurant Friendly staff Ambient, peaceful well thought interiors to relax and enjoy. Felt like home.

Our stay at Ambiente was great. Location couldn’t be better - right in the heart of old town - a very easy walk from the train station. Views from our room were exceptional - we stayed in room 503 with a gorgeous view of the St Martins Belltower and the backdrop of snow dusting the hills on our second day. Room was small but adequate, beds comfortable and the shower was large by Euro standards and very good. Breakfast options were plentiful and good and the breakfast room pleasant. We enjoyed our stay in Chur despite rainy cold weather setting in but we had the bonus of snow falling all along our journey back to St Moritz.

Reception could have been more helpful and friendly.

We loved the location. It was a short walk from the station, around 15 mins but easy to find and located in the beautiful, historic old town. Our room had a view of the church and the mountains but was also quiet. It was cooled by a fan rather than air con. The room was small but perfectly furnished. The shower room was beautifully decorated in a quirky red tile design and the shower was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. There was a bit of a rush at breakfast with an organised group arriving at the same time as us. We liked the message to "take all you can eat but eat all that you take". Others could learn from that!

Characterful and nicely renovated historical building. Friendly staff. Good location, walkable from railway station. Room was large and had a bath which was welcome. Very quiet and with a good breakfast.

No bottles of water or tea/coffee making facilities in room. Having stayed at many hotels I cannot understand why hotels cannot provide these basic provisions.

Great location and breakfast compares to others and good quality rooms.

-The hot water takes a little while to come on after turning the tap. -The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, as if someone had recently used the toilet. -housekeeper knocked on our door around 10:30 AM, even though checkout was at 11:00 AM. We had already packed our luggage, but it still felt a bit rushed and frustrating. Despite these points, I still gave a 9 out of 10 because overall, it was a really good experience.
