The views and room were exceptional

Two things: 1) we had a car and didn't realize car free meant no cars until after we booked. This should be more clear on the website. 2) I chose breakfast included in my search for this hotel. Booking.com gave me an "upgrade" and when this happened, I did not notice that breakfast was Available for $30 each. The breakfast was nice but not much nicer than the standard breakfast included. We were shocked at checkout. The breakfast was not worth $60 Euro We did have dinner at the same restaurant the night before, and it was delicious- priced appropriately for Zurich.

It's one of our all time favorite places to stay, just magical to see the sun rise and set from there, and see the moon rise and the stars appear at night. The fresh air and the hotel cat is also great.

We had some issues with the cleaning staff, rolling up our blinds and leaving the window wide open on the ground floor. First of all, someone could easily take stuff from the room, without even crawling in the window, but nothing was though. But since they also left the light on the room was full of mosquitoes, when we came back late at night. We were offered a different room, so we wouldn't have to chase mosquitos, but we were tired after a long day and didn't want to pack everything and move either. Unfortunate that it happened, but we can't complain about the will to rectify the situation. Still had a great stay and the general staff was nothing but nice and accommodating.

What a stay. We caught the train up. Very frequent trains up and down. We had large backpacks on as well as front packs. The walk from the train station to the hotel really wasn't that bad, but first impressions, made the walk feel bad. Stick to the road and not the path. Path was slippery with the snow/ice. It was overcast at first, but when it settled, it really was a hotel above the clouds. Beautiful with the sun out, clouds below and a sunset behind the Alps. We were there to celebrate our son's 18th and for him, this was his highlight of our 6 week European journey. Staff gave us all drink vouchers to help celebrate his 18th. We had dinner at the restaurant. Superb dinner. They had an awesome food van outside that catered for coffee, meals and desserts. We had 2 rooms for a family of 4. Very clean and spacious rooms. Great views. Very popular spot for visitors to the mountain. The lookout was closed due to ice and safety reasons, which is fair enough. It was slippery enough on the flat at times. Some easy walks nearby. One idea was to return to Zurich town to celebrate our son's 18th, but once we were up there, it was a simple choice just to stay up there. Very happy with this stay.

location was outstanding, staff is courteous and helpful. The view from the hotel is to "kill for". I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I plan on going back very very soon!! there is a lovely hike from the hotel and it was picturisq exploring the place. It is a beautiful respite from all the boring hotels in the city of Zurich, and it has become a part of my annual holiday plan, if not more frequently

This hotel is a gem of a place and every effort to reach it is worth it, having said so, hotel should possibly plan pick up and drop from the station to be added to the cost of the stay. The hotel does send the cab for luggage pick up as well as for senior citizens but the travelers need to hike up approximately 500 mtrs, or maybe lesser. The issue is once you reach zurich after 6-8 hour flight then from the airport to the station and finally to the hotel mostly "international" travelers would be very tired and trekking up the hill to reach the hotel might be a bit difficult especially when its cold and late in the evening. But its worth it, so don't let my review detter you in any way.

The hotel is located in a stunning location! High on a mountain with a panoramic view – on one side you see all of Zurich, and on the other side, hills and mountains – very beautiful! It is easy to get to the hotel from Zurich city – about a 20-minute drive, and public transportation in Switzerland is very convenient. Then there’s roughly a 10-minute walk up to the hotel (a lovely walk in the forest with a well-maintained path, really easy). The hotel staff is courteous and wonderful; they helped us with our luggage both ways, assisted with all our inquiries, and were willing to fulfill any request. Lovely and kind people, beautiful location, and an excellent breakfast!!

It's not that I didn't like it, just keep in mind that the hotel has only one restaurant where you can have dinner and meals in general (not cheap but good – quite expensive).

This is a beautiful hotel, with a great location, and excellent breakfast. The room was 10 out of 10! Great bed, very spacious and modern. Super clean! We can only recommend!!

We paid extra for bringing the dog with us, which is ok -having an extra fee for pets is quite standard in every hotel. However, there was nothing for the dog in the room -normally after paying such a fee, hotels place a bowl of water or bowl of food or a mat/bed. It wasn't tragic, because we were prepared, but it's nice when the hotel offers something for pets when they consider themselves “pet friendly”.

The location of Uto Kulm is exceptional. The view from the terrace is out of this world. As you walk from the train station up the hill you see the view and it is breathtaking. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly one lady (I don't have her name unfortunately but she had long, blonde hair), who gave outstanding customer service. The rooms are clean and bright and we had a magnificent view from our balcony. The bathroom was also excellent. Also included in your stay is one complimentary trip to the spa, which was a relaxing bonus.

The only thing was the cost of the dinner. We understand Switzerland is expensive but we paid 110 Swiss Francs for one plain vegan burger, one standard burger and two drinks. The food was not exceptional. I understand that you are probably paying for the view but we felt the food quality did not match the price. The breakfast is excellent but again quite highly priced.

First of all, I don’t think you could get any better bird’s-eye view of the city and its lake from any other hotels in Zurich itself! It’s definitely gonna be from the Top of Zurich! It’s spectacular. We booked the Panaroma Room with Mountain and Lake View - it didn’t disappoint us! The room looks exactly like how it was advertised. I’m not good at describing but y’all, they have super soft and snuggly bed - definitely the best thing after a long day. We topped up for 1 morning’s breakfast at CHF 30 / pax - not the best brekkie in Swiss but they do deserve a shout-out for their soft & creamy scrambled eggs! It’s chef’s kiss. Oh and I love their choice of soap and shampoo so so much. Do look up Soeder, a Swiss-made natural care product. UTO KULM is also selling them, but most importantly, at retail price, so worry not, there ain’t markup “hotel premium” price. I’ve seen quite some negative reviews on Google which I find quite unfair, so please hear me up. Regarding rooms having no air conditioners, you’ll be able to notice this if you do enough research, so maybe avoid summer, as simple as that. This didn’t come off as an issue to us as the weather was cooling enough (Oct-Nov) to ventilate the room so all was good on our end :) I don’t think it’s fair for UTO KULM to be blamed on hiking the way up and/or the trains’ schedules… It’s literally written everywhere (on their official website and all their booking platforms) mentioning Autofrei / car-free, so you should already be fully aware and well prepared for it, instead of finding fault with it afterwards. Besides, they do contact guests to remind them of the timing of the first and last trains. It’s very clear and straightforward. All you need to do is, plan accordingly. Also, upon request, they do provide transport for your luggage and persons with mobility issues both ways up & down the hill, FOC. And nope, we didn't encounter any rude / unprofessional staffs!

We loved the location and the cute rooms. Nice view. Clean and cozy. The hotel restaurant was very fancy and had great food.

There was no AC in the room. We went in the summer so it was quite hot. Though they gave us a potable table fan. And also they didn’t have a kettle to heat up water for making tea. Just a coffee machine. It’s a no car zone so we had to walk up all the way with our luggage. Which was hard. If they had at the least provided hotel transportation for picking our luggage it would have been nice. Also, when we requested to take our luggage back down they requested extra money for that.

The property is fine. Nice building, clean and easy interior decoration. The location is on the top of a mountain, only to get there by train. The neared area to get off or get on a taxi is super far away from the hotel. Likely they have brilliant view of Zurich and track of forests to walk around, otherwise I will not pick this hotel.

The facilities are a bit old not very convenient for whom with big baggage.
