The self-check in was extremely easy to use. The room was clean and there was house keeping (though I didn’t know about that in advance which kind of bother me but that’s just a me thing). Bed was very comfortable. View was okay, it was just a building and there were some protests going on while I was there but the window did a fairly good job at muting the noise….

I couldn’t check in early or figure out where to store luggage before check in. The window did a fairly good job at muting the noise but there was some noise from the riots and clubs or bars nearby… so it just depends on how light of a sleeper you are.

The friendliness of the staff. My family and I arrived too early and were able to temporarily store our luggage in the restaurant. This allowed us to kickstart our sightseeing early. The check-in process was easy and automated. We had a couple of demands from management and they were very accommodating.

Zurich is a pretty safe place. We are still out even after 10 pm. We were surprised when we took an Uber ride to the airport, and the driver told us that the hotel's location was the craziest among all the places in Zurich. It is maybe because of the bars and clubs (and even a gentleman's club), within the vicinity of the Yard Hotel. Nothing happened to us though - and most likely, because Switzerland has a very low crime rate.

It was clean and tidy and in a good location. Excelled food downstairs in the restaurant too and staff were really nice!

We had to use the 24h check in service, and unfortunately it didn’t work and was really hard to check in as it kept restarting and then eventually told us to contact reception, but we had no service so could not contact reception. We ended up ringing the bell multiple times and lucky enough a chef came out and helped us and was all sorted! We were just very lucky the chef was there otherwise we would not have been able to check in.

This place was actually very nice surprise. We nearly booked somewhere after we saw the other reviews on different websites that were not very favourable and I think very unfair. While the photos may be very generous the place itself is nice, clean, great location and reasonably affordable. The location for me was perfect as there were loads of fantastic restaurants and bars very close by. The self checking worked fine and the ally beside the restaurant was totally fine. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting that wants something nice and cheap and safe. I would suggest they update their photos so people know what to expect when they get here

Quiet room, well appointed and clean.

We had a snafu with our flights - our arrival was delayed by one day - and it was MUCH TOO DIFFICULT to reach someone who would take responsibility for assuring that our reservation would be held. The number listed on the BOOKING.COM reference insisted they had nothing to do with it, and only when I became quite firm did he give me the number for the restaurant, saying they would handle it. It took a couple calls to raise anyone at the restaurant, but we finally got it all sorted. This should not be the experience!

Very easy check in via the self check-in machine at the entrance. We didn’t even get the chance to meet people from the staff. Everything was smooth and easy. The location was also really convenient, close to public transport and shops. The room was very clean and overall very good experience.

The only thing that we didn’t like was the WiFi. There was no good connection in our room and we struggled a lot since we were in a business trip and it was quite important to be on track with the work-related activities.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Yard Zürich. The location was a short walk to the main station and close to many good cafes and bars. The Yard Chinese restaurant downstairs was also very delicious and great value. The dumplings are a must try! The staff are absolutely wonderful! Thank you Andy and Zonk, you guys definitely made our first couple of nights in Europe memorable. :)

This 5 room boutique hotel is high on quality and comfort. The bed was by far the most comfy of our 1 week stay in Switzerland. The same goes for the pillows and linens. The room itself was beautifully decorated and furnished with some very unique pieces. We absolutely loved the rain head shower in the spacious bathroom and the hard wood floors. Another plus was the security - your key card is used to buzz you in (1) as you enter the building, (2) as you enter the suite of rooms and finally (3) to enter your individual room. One interesting feature was the artwork on the walls - it is by local(?) artists and is for sale. The WiFi gave us some problems initially, but it was fixed within an hour of mentioning it to the property. There are a number of restaurants in the area and a market in the Helvetiaplatz across the street on Friday morning. Volkshaus is right across the street. Close to the #8 Tram and a short walk to catch many others. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Yard.

Maybe I just didn't read the description well enough, but it was unclear to us when we booked that this property is self check-in/check-out. The attached restaurant is the managing "reception" area. I suppose it is possible to check in at the restaurant, but that wasn't our experience. The question was asked about luggage being left upon early arrival, and it seems like you could leave it in the restaurant, but be aware they do close for several hours mid afternoon. We chose to put our bags in a locker at the train station. I am torn because the room itself was really very nice, but I feel the self-serve aspect should be made plain upfront.

From the pictures online I had imagined we would be renting a much larger space. I am now assuming units that there are various size units. After arriving, I saw a pic of our unit “buried” in the group of pictures.

The room was centrally located, clean and had large windows and a bigger than expected bathroom. I was really happy with the hotel and the staff are very friendly. PLUS the food at the restaurant downstairs was delicious. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

No faults come to mind. The entrance is via the restaurant downstairs which is a bit unusual but I felt safe staying here and the room was great and set back from the street.
