Friendly helpful and accomodating staff. Restaurant hours, breakfast and pool are great. Short walk to Khao San and River, close to coffee shop, cafes, bars and National Gallery.

The room temperature was too cold and noisy with the airconditioning on so I had to sleep with the window open so mosquitos were a problem some nights.

All the staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of hot water for the shower. The air conditioning worked well. The room had a fridge, kettle, coffee sachets, tea bags, TV, hair dryer and a safe. The room was provided with 2 x 500ml bottles of water per day on request. The balcony was accessed by stepping over the sliding door frame. The pool is quite a good size. The breakfast included fruit, yoghurts, some cereal, bread, butter, jam/marmalade, french toast, pancakes, eggs (fried and scrambled), sausages, hot meat and vegetable dishes. Coffee, tea and fruit juice were also available. The property has a restaurant/bar that offers good value food and drink. The property is quiet but in a good location to access good local restaurants/bars as well as the more raucous Khao San area

I feel the property offers very good value for money but could do with some redecoration and brightening up. Where I styed in room 4203 the back of the bathroom door could do with repainting. Other reviewers bemoan the lack of daily house keeping but it is available if requested.

Excellent location just off Soi Rambuttri, close to loads of great options for eating/drinking. Nice buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Rooms are tired and in need of renovation. We booked two rooms and one smelled strongly of drains. The best thing about the place is the staff. The lovely ladies on reception were so kind, efficient and helpful. 10 out of 10. For us, the pros outweigh the cons. We'd definitely return (in fact, we are returning to stay again at the end of the month), but I wouldn't recommend it to others, if you know what I mean.

Old rooms in need of renovation.

The place is strategically located near Sanam Luang our primary interest. The reserved parking lot is very convenient. The coolness of the room is evenly distributed as the air conditioner draft is not facing the bed. Yes, I like the evenings as it's quiet for resting after a long day.

The difficulty in driving on a very small adjacent private road as stopping is not allowed on the main road. The pool is not applicable to young children as it's more for adult. The LCD television seems outdated but we don't find use for it anyway.

The hotel is very well placed in the old town close to pier so you can easily take the boat and go to different tourist attractions. Also close to sightseeing bus so quite good central location. The hotel overall is very nice the room is clean and modern and the best the food is very good as well, quality and price. I would say there are the lowest prices in the area. The breakfast is divers and also good quality.

There were some people slamming the doors, and I could hear the neighbors who were complaining during the night, but this doesn't depend on the hotel, or maybe sound isolation is missing. But after midnight, it was quiet.

New Siam II for me was a perfect alternative to all the luxury, modern highrise hotels in Bangkok. I wanted to give my kids a feeling how it is when you backpack through Asia. It is not as basic as I remember back in the 80's and 90's, but you can still taste the atmosphere here. Relaxed and safe walking distance (10 minutes) to Khao san rd. Rooms with good airconditioning. And a swimming pool which is much appreciated when coming back from walking to all the nearby sights. Rooms are a bit smaller then in the pics. Good breakfast. Don't forget to go to China town in the evenings for good food!! I would go back here anytime.

Crappy taxi's in front of the hotel that want to drive you around but refuse to use their meter. We used GRAB (sort of UBER) which worked well.

Fruits and juices in breakfast were good. Staff also helping and friendly. Restaurant area in the morning has a good vibe nearby the pool. The area surrounding the stay also has convenience stores and medical stores nearby to buy things. Staff were quite friendly with helping with directions of the surrounding area.

Had some issues with wifi. In breakfast, there is limited options for vegetarians to select from.

Comfy bed, very nice staff, tasty breakfast, good looking food in the restaurant (we didn‘t try it though), insane location, no noisy nights, even though you can hear the vehicles on the streets sometimes. Power supplies in bathroom and besides the bed, hair dryer, nice pool. We were able to stay at the pool after checkout.

Never throw napkins into the toilet, it will end badly… A/C took way too long to cool down the room, but worked out in the end. Shower needs to get its moldy spots cleaned.

We had a great stay. The room was spacious with bedside tables and outlets, a desk and fridge and balcony. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was great, a buffet with lots of options and it changed each day. The pool was clean and great in the heat. The location is good, easy walk to Khaosan and also the water taxi. The staff were so kind and helpful. Wifi used an individual password and was pretty good.

The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best.

Rooms are clean, secure and the aircon works well. Pool area is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is simple but good for me as I'm veggie - eggs, toast, fruit and coffee. Staff on reception are great and always look after your bags before/after checkout. They'll also do their best to let you into your room if you arrive before check in time. This time they also gave me a free room upgrade which was nice.

Would be great to have somewhere to fill up water bottles to reduce the plastic waste.
