Beautiful looking hotel in a great location in central Chiang Mai. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nice to have a pool in old Chiang Mai. Beautiful terracotta pieces available to buy as an interesting souvenir from the city.

Would be nice if the hotel had a bar or sold a few cold drinks for relaxing by the pool.

When we arrived at the hotel, they tell you a bunch of rules which are quite obvious when traveling to any hotel, it kind of ruins the welcoming experience.

Truly outstanding in all areas. Superb staff who are able to book literally any service you require. Huge, lovely rooms with balconies. Everything immaculate. Beautiful pool and an excellent breakfast. Inside the old walled city so everywhere is walkable with a huge array of eateries and shops close by. Just fabulous, and a great massage in the temple a few metres away.

The hotel is very beautiful, wonderful terra cotta carvings, gardens, charm. But what makes staying at the hotel an incomparable experience is the staff. Their kindness and care is like nothing I have ever known. They say they treat their guests like family and it is entirely true. I am vegan and each morning they would bend over backwards to create delicious breakfasts especially for me. I arrived in the morning after flying all night and though check in is 2pm, the wonderful Smile made the room ready for me immediately which I so much appreciated. Each guest is treated with love and kindness. It is a family business and it feels like a family, into which you are welcomed. The location is marvellous, close to everything and right next to the food market and Hawker Night Market. I was interested that it is a three and not a four star hotel. I suppose it is not as luxurious as high end hotels but that is why it feels so comfortable to stay there because there is such warmth to the whole experience.

Very unique installations and friendly employees. We left at 4AM for a tour to Doi Inthanon and they were so nice to prepare a sandwich and a coffee for the way because we would miss breakfast.

The Hotel is located inside the old city boundaries, so you’re in the vicinity of the popular temples. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are worn down and dirty.

This hotel is beautiful. Terracotta arts everywhere and dark woods, with colonial era decor vibes. The pool area is gorgeous, the rooms are big and very comfortable. Despite its central location it’s quiet and peaceful. The staff are incredibly friendly and sweet natured and can’t do enough for you. The breakfast is good and they were able to accommodate us last minute. They had an activity on in the lobby during our stay. Smart tv in the room meant we could log into Netflix and enjoy some English tv for a chilled morning - I would absolutely stay here again.

The only thing we didn’t like was that they wanted to charge you for lost key cards and if you stained the sheets on the bed (3000thb around £75ish for a duvet cover according to the list in the room). This wasn’t detailed as part of the booking process and we didn’t know until we got there. Whilst we don’t ever set out to recklessly damage or lose things, we felt that these things are normal ‘wear and tear’ of running a hotel and found it to be an unusual policy. We didn’t have any mishaps, but a little spilled coffee or misplaced key card could all too easily happen, especially in a hotel room where everything revolves around sitting on the bed. so whilst only moderately inconvenient, the increased pressure to ‘be extra extra careful’ wasn’t really welcome on holiday.

Great location, wonderful staff, exceptional property. Rooms really comfortable and very clean, housekeeping is 10/10. air-con and wifi work well and the laundry is good, fast and very reasonably priced. We used the airport pickup and drop off which worked out well and again not overpriced. Although there is no bar or evening restaurant on site there are plenty of great options right on the doorstep.

The only minor downside was having to choose what to eat for breakfast the night before and what time i will eat it. As we were all on holiday we would have preferred to get up when we feel like getting up.

The service you get in this hotel is excellent! We were ordering some breakfasts for take away because we had some tours during our stay and everything was working smoothly only one time they forgot and we needed to wait for it…. The hotel is in a very good location, we liked that there were not bars or restaurants open during our stay because we noticed the rest of the hotels around were located next to busy areas. “Smile” helped us at the end to get a taxi to the airport, even though we used Grab, some drivers can be a bit naughty. So I will totally give 5 stars and we definitely would stay here again! :) THANK YOU Phor Liang-Team!

This is a wonderful property with plenty of great character, a really proactive and friendly professional staff, and good amenities. Well located for sites in the old city and for day excursions farther out. Breakfast simple but quite good and with exceptional coffee. Really hope to come back one day!

Not really a dislike but could have some softer pillows available and a little bit more selection for breakfast to add in some variety for those staying several days.
